Donald Ervin COLLINS
Age 81 of Arlington passed away on Wednesday, November 8, 2000 in Arlington following an extended illness.
He was born on June 22, 1919 in Detroit, Michigan to parents Nettie and Edward Collins.
His youth was spent in Anderson, Indiana.
He moved to Seattle in 1961, living in the Magnolia area.
He has resided in Arlington for the past three years.
He retired from the City of Seattle Parks and Recreation Department.
Don was a life member of the Boy Scouts of America, the Scottish Rite, Free Mason and the Nile Temple.
He was also past Commander of the Legion of Honor.
He was a member of the Arlington United Church and had served in the U.S. Navy.
He is survived by step-children: Lana Vanderstoep, of Arlington and Larry Tooley, of Valier, Montana.
Son-in-law Mike Brown. Two nieces, Joanne and Laurie Collins. Sister-in-law, Lenore Collins Norris. Great nephew, Collin Boldizsar and many acquired step grandchildren, other relatives and his Nile brothers.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, Clarence Collins and a wife, Lilyan Tooley Collins.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 13, 2000 at 11 a.m. at the Nile Temple at I-5 and 205th. (King-Snohomish County line).
In memory of Don and his great love of the Shrine, please donate to the Nile Temple Children's Hospital Travel Fund or the American Diabetes Assn.
Weller Funeral Home of Arlington is in charge of arrangements.

Cynthia Stanton COPELAND
Cynthia Stanton Copeland, 92, died on November 4, 2000 after a short illness.
She had been a resident of Mercer Island since 1982, and was the widow of the Rev. William F. Copeland.
Mrs. Copeland was born February 2, 1908, in Detroit, Michigan, and came to San Diego, California, at the age of four.
She graduated from Pomona College in 1929 and earned a Master of Arts degree from the University of California at Berkeley in 1930.
Mrs. Copeland taught English and Journalism, and in 1934 she married William F. Copeland, then a pharmacist, and continued to teach until she went to work during World War II as an engineering draftsman.
In 1951, when her husband went to study for the Episcopal priesthood at Church Divinity School of the Pacific, she moved with her family to Berkeley, California.
After his graduation and ordination to the priesthood, Father Copeland became Vicar of St. David's Episcopal Church, newly founded in San Diego, and remained there for 14 years.
In the new church Mrs. Copeland helped wherever she was needed, serving as organist, choirmaster, or secretary.
In 1968 Father and Mrs. Copeland moved to Washington State, and Mrs. Copeland served as organist and choirmaster in Christ Church, Anacortes, and St. James, Sedro Woolley, during the time Father Copeland was Vicar of the North Skagit Missions.
When Father Copeland retired in 1972, they moved to Seattle, where Mrs. Copeland became a volunteer in the office of the ACLU.
She later worked for several years as a volunteer at Northwest Harvest and at Northwest Chamber Orchestra.
Father Copeland served as Assistant at Emmanuel Episcopal Church on Mercer Island until his death in 1983, and Mrs. Copeland sang in the choir and was active in the parish until the mid 1990's. She also volunteered at the Mercer Island Building Department and on the political campaigns of several liberal Democrats running for various public offices.
Mrs. Copeland is survived by three sons -- William Warren Copeland of Seattle, Richard Stanton Copeland of Woodinville, and Donald Amsden Copeland of Whidbey Island, and by five grandsons and seven step-grandchildren.
The Liturgy for the Burial of the Dead and the Holy Eucharist will take place at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 4228 Factoria Blvd SE, Bellevue, Washington, at 2 pm on Saturday, November 11, 2000.
Following cremation, her ashes will be interred next to those of her husband in the family plot at Greenwood Memorial Park in San Diego, California.
Instead of flowers, it is suggested that memorial gifts be made to Northwest Harvest; St. Margaret's Episcopal Church, 4228 Factoria Boulevard SE, Bellevue, Washington 98006; or St. David's Episcopal Church, 5050 Milton Street, San Diego, California 92110. (Obit dated 11/05/2000.)

Phyllis Elizabeth COVEY
Phyllis Elizabeth COVEY 85, was born in Reardon, WA. on September 23, 1915.
The daughter of "country doctor" L.M. Thompson, she spent her school age years in Odessa and Cashmere, Washington and graduated from St. Anthony's School of Nursing in Wenatchee.
She spent her life as a registered nurse and devoted mother.
She resided in the Rainier Beach area of Seattle for over 50 years with her late husband, Doug.
She is survived by daughter, Marcia Zirbel, son-in-law Bill Zirbel of Anacortes; son Mark Covey and daughter-in-law Norma Covey of Woodvinville; sister Pat Daulph, Omak; grandchildren Matt & Marnie Jo Zirbel and Christopher Covey and niece Judy Rodgers.
Visitation will be held at Green's Chapel of the Valley, 16551 N.E. 79th St., Redmond on Friday, November 10th from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.
A Graveside Service will be held at Noon on Saturday at Holyrood cemetery, 205 N.E. 205th, Shoreline, WA. (Obit dated 11/09/2000.)

Helen B. CRAYNE
Helen B. Crayne, 94, of Shoreline, died November 6, 2000.
She was born in 1906 in Peoria, Illinois.
Helen is survived by her daughter Mary Ellen Pacher of Mukilteo; nine grandchildren, Terry, David, MaryBeth, Kathleen, Susan, Glen, Tom, David and Heidi; nine great grandchildren, Greg, Adam, Michael, Travis, Tyler, Brandon, Taylor, Jon and Kristen.
Helen was preceded in death by son William Charles.
A Memorial Service will be at 2 p.m. on Sunday, November 12, 2000 at St. Dunstan's Church, 722 N. 145th St., Shoreline, 98133.
Memorials may be made to St. Dunstan's Memorial Fund or Children's Hospital.
Arrangements are under the direction of Purdy & Walters at Floral Hills, Lynnwood. (Obit dated 11/09/2000.)

John H. DAHL
John H. DAHL Age 74. passed away November 6, 2000 in Burien.
He was born in a logging camp in Snoqualmie, Washington January 12, 1926.
John attended Lincoln High School, graduated from the U.W., and served honorably in the U.S. Army Air Corps as a fighter pilot during WWII.
He was a chemist and later an engineer for the Boeing Company retiring in 1993.
He was an avid out doorsman and jokester.
Survivors include his beloved wife Ethel of Seattle, children Karen Willis of Edmonds and Jennifer Dahl-Buck of Burien; sister Evalyn Jean North; grandchildren Lisa and Christopher Willis.
Friends are invited to a time of Visitation Thursday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and to Funeral Services Saturday, November 11, 2000 at 3 p.m. all at the Acacia Funeral Home, 14951 Bothell Way N. E., Seattle. (Obit dated 11/07/2000.)

Judith C. DAVIS
Judy was born in Seattle, WA on April 1, 1944.
She died on October 27, 2000 in Burien, WA.
Judy was a 1962 graduate of Franklin High School in Seattle.
After further study, she went on to become a bookkeeper.
In 1997 she retired from Metro after 30 years of service where she worked in the payroll department.
Judy was currently Royal Matron of Loyalty Court of the Order of Amaranth.
She was also a Past Worthy Matron of Ark Chapter and a member of Nesika and Southgate Chapters Order of Eastern Star.
She also enjoyed visiting her family, watching the local sports teams on TV, reading and walking.
Judy is survived by her Mother, Dorothy H. Davis of Des Moines, sisters, Janice and Richard Van Guilder and Christina Davis both of Kent and by brothers Jeffery and Barbara Davis of Seattle and Mark and Mary Davis of Tacoma.
Four nieces, five nephews, six great nieces and nephews also survive her.
A Celebration of Life service is scheduled for November 9, 2000 at 6 p.m. at Lake Burien Presbyterian Church, 15003 - 14th S.W., Seattle, WA.
Memorials may be sent to Ruth Dykeman Children's Center at 1033 S.W. 152nd, Burien, WA. 98166. (Obit dated 11/05/2000.)

Laura T. DAVIS
Age 93, of Seattle, passed away, November 6, 2000.
She was born November 12, 1906 in Lamar, Arkansas; where she was raised and educated.
She became a Christian in her youth and was a longtime member of the Baptist Church.
Mrs. Davis came to the Puget Sound area in the 1950's.
She was a devoted homemaker who lived a long life and was very active in her later years with all of her grandchildren and great grand children.
Laura loved the Lord and was a wonderful example of love, joy and laughter for all of us.
Mrs. Davis is survived by her beloved daughter, A. Jean Howard and husband Harry, of Seattle, grandchildren, Harry D. Howard and wife Judy, Linda Jean Olsen and husband Douglas, Michael W. Howard and wife Debbie, Russell D. Howard and wife Patricia; 8 great grandchildren, 4 great great grandchildren, sisters, Edith Mallory, Wilma Harris, Juanita Harmon, and by many nieces, nephews, relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 9, 2000, 12:00 Noon at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home 11111 Aurora Ave. N. - Seattle.
Burial will follow at Washelli cemetery. (Obit dated 11/07/2000.)

Edna Charlotte DENBOW
Born 1926 in Ketchikan Alaska. Peacefully passed on the night of November 3, 2000.
A lover of the arts and a creative cook, Edna is survived by Leslie her devoted husband of 55 years, two loving children Craig and Cynthia, three grand children, Garrick, Greg, and Geoff, two brothers, Leif and Arnie and many loving nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial Services to be held 3:00 p.m. Nov. 11, 2000 at BONNEY-WATSON Washington Memorial Funeral Home.

Arline Leila DEVER
Born July 29, 1935 in Los Angeles, CA., passed away October 31, 2000 in Edmonds, Washington.
She is survived by her husband of 44 years, Donald P. Dever, her sons James (Lynn) Dever and Ronald (Karen) Dever, her grandchildren Bryan, Christen, and Julianna, and her two brothers John Canzone and William Canzone.
No services at her request. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Snohomish County, 2731 Wetmore Ave., Ste. 520, Everett, WA. 98201.
