almost 60 years. Survived by son, Bob J. Jensen (Corinne) and granddaughters; Shaughn Huck (Chris), Shannon Klesick (Troy) and Sharlet Lee Jensen. She was a Past Matron and Life Member of Occidental Chapter No. 28, Order of Eastern Star and former member of Corinthian Court, Order of Amaranth, and Music and Art in Ballard where she resided for many years. Wanda J. JENSEN, 70, of Lynnwood, died April 6, 2001. She was born June 15, 1930 to Elmo and Lucy Wilson in Monroe City, Missouri, where she attended Holy Rosary Catholic School. After attending Quincy College in Quincy, Illinois, she moved to California where she met and married
Gerald Jensen, who was in the U.S. Navy. Wanda was active in the Mary Queen of Snows Guild at St. Mark Catholic Church. Wanda is survived by her husband, Jerry; children, Keith (Cindy) Jensen, Karl (Dara) Jensen, Ken (Bridget) Jensen, and Katie (Lance) Van Parys; six grandchildren; brothers, Harry Joe Wilson and Jimmy Wilson; and sister Annie Hoag. Rosary will be said Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at 7 p.m. at St. Mark Catholic Church, 18033 15th Pl N.E., Shoreline. Funeral Mass Wednesday, April 11th at 11 a.m., also at the Church. Alice J. JOHN
Alice J. JOHN, 93, of Everett passed away, April 6, 2001. She was born February 12, 1908 in Portland, Oregon and had lived in the Everett area for the past 10 years. Alice leaves her son, James A. Dainard of Lynnwood, daughter, Dorothy C. Hoover of Oregon; five grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two grandchildren. A time of Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 10, 2001 from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Private interment at Floral Hills cemetery. Irwin H. JOHNSON
Passed into eternity on April 6, 2001. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy M. Johnson and his daughter, Linda Johnson McCullough of Lake Oswego, OR., and sons, James H. Johnson of Tigard, OR., and Phillip I. Johnson of Enumclaw, WA. He has six precious grandchildren whom he adored, two great grandsons and one great granddaughter. Irwin was very much a family man and totally devoted his life to them. He also enjoyed Husky football and Mariner baseball. He was employed with Sears Roebuck for 33 years. He is loved and will be missed but belongs in our hearts forever. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate contributions to Search Ministries, 6969 - S.W. Eunice Elizabeth (Vordahl) JOLLEY
Eunice: born on April 16, 1935 in Seattle; passed on to Glory April 1, Sunday, 2001 at LakeVue Gardens in Kirkland at 65. She graduated from West Seattle High(1953) and Seattle Pacific College(1957). Eunice taught First Grade at Fairmont Elementary in West Seattle. She married
Furbur Jolley (West Seattle-1949 and Seattle Pacific- 1957) June 1, 1958. They moved to Kirkland in 1960 where they were and are still active at Bellevue Christian School. Eunice raised three sons (Jonathan, David, Matthew), enjoyed reading greatly, was active at Juanita Community Church, Secretary of the Dorcas Society, and Family Church Camp cook. She was a member of the Mountaineers, hiked and skied a lot with her family. She greatly enjoyed classical music and church hymns. She went to the symphony, plays, and ballet - often with family members. When her eldest son became ill she wrote a paper for Children's Hospital about Junior Rheumatoid Arthritis. Then working for LakeVue Gardens, she developed a program for stroke patients that was adopted by other nursing homes. Eunice often wrote book reviews for the women at church. Her humor was more than well developed. In the family we always wondered what Eunice would do for our lunch on April Fool's Day. There will be a Memorial Program at Juanita Community Church, 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 14th, 10007 N.E. 132nd Street, Kirkland. Church Phone: 425-821-8444.

Age 77, passed away April 4, 2001. She was pre ceded in death by her husband Jim. Betty was the owner of the Sunset Tavern in Ballard for 29 years. Beloved mother of four sons: Robert, Greg, James and Jeffrey (Marie) Jones; two grandchildren: Christina and Makensie; sister of Lois Ryan and Joseph (Rose) Sievers. Private Services will be held. Heidi E. JONES
Guests are invited to attend a celebration of life for Adelheid Emilie Dierschke (Heidi Jones) of Bothell at the Stimson-Green Mansion on April 14th at 2 p.m. The Mansion is located at 1204 Minor Avenue on Seattle's First Hill. Underground parking is provided directly behind the Mansion off University Street. Mrs. Jones died January 21st at her home. She was 73. She was born April 1, 1928 to Alfred and Sabena (Schlesinger) Dierschke in Essen, Germany. Mrs. Jones lived there until 1936, when her father was transferred to Tokyo as Chief Engineer for Koppers covering East Asia. The family was returning on leave to Essen in 1941 by rail across Russia, when as a result of the German Invasion, the Russians detained them. They were later repatriated to Germany where they remained until the end of WWII. After the war ended, Mrs. Jones worked as a secretary and interpreter for the British Occupation Forces. Mrs. Jones and her family returned to Tokyo in 1952. She met her husband Harry Jones, a member of the U.S. Army, and was married
in Tokyo on April 20, 1954. On completion of Army services Mr. and Mrs. Jones settled in Seattle. Her working career was with the KING Broadcasting Company. She retired in 1998 as head of Computing and Data Processing for KING and their affiliated stations. Mrs. Jones enjoyed painting, writing, traveling and working with her husband on the restoration of their classic sailboat. She recently completed an autobiography covering her years in Japan and during WWII. Her many friends will always remember her by her friendly smile, her handy laugh and her warm heart. Survivors include her loving husband of 47 years, Harry Jones, Mrs. Jones' sisters, Marcia Gleeson of Kiwanee, IL., Linda Olson of Joplin, MO., their families and several relatives in Germany. Hazel Harris KONDOR
passed away April 3, 2001, in Kirkland, WA. after a brief illness. Hazel was born in Pennsylvania on November 4, 1935 to Jean and Keith Harris. After her parents' marriage dissolved, Hazel traveled across the country to La Grande, OR., where she was raised by her sister Mary Ruckman. She graduated from the University of Oregon in 1958 with a degree in Chemistry. In 1960 she married
Albert Kondor, with whom she had two children, Ruth and Elizabeth. As a single mother, Hazel raised her children in San Francisco, where she worked for Fireman's Fund for over 30 years as a computer programmer. She retired in 1994 and relocated to Kirkland, WA to be closer to her family. Hazel loved reading, traveling, and sewing, and enjoyed participating in many activities at the Kirkland Senior Center. She is survived by her daughters, Ruth Kinchen (Curtis) of Bellevue, WA., and Elizabeth Sundet (Wade) of Kent, WA., and grandchildren Rebecca and Melanie Kinchen and Christopher Sundet as well as numerous other family members and friends. A Memorial Service will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, April 6 at the Kirkland Senior Center, 406 Kirkland Ave., Kirkland, WA. 98033. Donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or PAWS. Elmere Parquette KROFT
Elmere was born June 17, 1924, in Toledo, OH., and she passed away March 28, 2001, in Seattle, WA. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, David G. Kroft; by her devoted son, Dr. David Jeffery Kroft, of Salem, OR.; and by her two grandchildren, Jonathan Kroft and Elizabeth Kroft, of Boston, MA. Elmere was a graduate of Ursuline Academy in Toledo, OH., received her BS in Education from Bowling Green (OH) State University, and a Master of Arts in English from Washington University in St. Louis, MO. She also attended the Universities of Oregon and Washington. During her lifetime she taught in Portland, OR. and Albuquerque, NM., and for 30 years in the Seattle Public Schools, 25 of those years teaching English Literature and Senior Humanities at Queen Anne High School. Elmere devoted her life to her family and to the education of the more than 10,000 students she taught during her teaching career. She enjoyed traveling throughout the world and reading English Literature; she also had a special interest in art history and its relation to literature. She was a member of Pi Lambda Theta and Omicron Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma, honorary education societies. She was a past president of Seattle's Administrative Woman in Education and served twice as president of her Pi Lambda Theta chapter. She was also a member of the Woman's University Club of Seattle and the Washington Athletic Club. At her request a private family service will be held prior to interment at Willamette National cemetery in Portland, OR. Services provided by Butterworth-Manning-Ashmore Funeral Home.
