Joseph J. Bollinger, retired firefighter, age 71, of Kenmore, WA. He was born April 28, 1930 in Bridgewater, South Dakota and passed away May 31, 2001 of a sudden heart attack. He is survived by his wife, Marge; daughter, Debbie; son, Tim and his wife Linda; grandchildren, Larissa and Shane Johnson, Marieka Rog ers, Valerie and Cassey Bollinger; his brother, C.J. (Duke) Bollinger of Bridgewater, S.D. Memorial Mass at St. Marks Catholic Church in Shoreline on Wednesday, June 6, 2001 at 10 a.m. Reception immediately following service in Church hall. Inurnment at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 8, 2001 at Holyrood cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Medic One, American Heart Association or to Puget Sound Kidney Center. Kurt Verner BORGSTROM
August 18, 1922 - June 3, 2001
Born in Sweden, he lived a quintessentially American life, as a logger, dairy farmer, Seattle Public School teacher, importer/owner of Scandia Imports-University District and Northgate. Earned a BA from University of Washington, member of Education Honorary fraternity. Enlisted in U.S. Army, 100th Infantry Division, was regimental boxing champion. Served 100 days on line in ETO. Received his U.S. citizenship papers in Heidelberg, Germany. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Patricia, son John, daughter Nora, grandchildren Eric Borgstrom, Jeanette Beste, Geneva Lucas, Helen Filosa, great grandchildren Tiffani Beste, Stephanie and Scott Borgstrom, Theresa and Kyle Lucas, brother Richard Borgstrom, sister and brother-in-law Katie and Duane Dolan; In Sweden: sister Rita Jeppsson, nephew Benny Jeppsson, niece Benita Hagnestam, niece Lisa Borgstrom and nephew Richard Borgstrom. Kari Ellen (Palander) BORSELLI
July 30, 1961 - May 31, 2001
After a long and valiant battle with Breast Can cer, Kari Ellen (Palander) Borselli succumbed to the disease on May 31, 2001. Kari was born in Seattle on July 30, 1961. Raised on Mercer Island, she graduated from Mercer Island High School in 1979. Kari received an Associate Degree from Bellevue Community College in Early Childhood Education, and attend ed Washington State University for two years. She was a favorite pre-school teacher for many years at Country Village Day School on Mercer Island. In September of 1988, Kari married
Mark Borselli of Kirkland, Washington. Kari and Mark had their first child Samantha on September 29, 1989. On February 1, 1992, their second child Christina was born, and Riley, their third child, was born on August 19, 1995. Kari was a very proud mother, and played an integral part in her three childrens' education and activities, such as swim team, soccer, dance, Girl Scouts, Campfire Girls, and church preschool. She is survived by her husband Mark, her three children, mother Betty J. Thomas, stepfather, Marvin L. Thomas, brother Eric A. Palander and wife Katia, and many other loving family members and friends. Ellen BRANDT
Born in Seattle, July 2, 1924, died May 16, 2001 in Swedish Hospital. She was predeceased by her parents, Anna and Knute Brandt who owned and operated Brandt's Bakery in the Wallingford District. Ellen graduated from Lincoln High School in 1942. After graduating from Griffin Murphy Business College, she went to work for Fisheries Supply. During her career, she worked for Seattle Steel Co., Junge-McGregor Food Brokers, Dr. Lund at Swedish Hospital and retired from United Way. Ellen was a member of Frihet Lodge, Vasa Lodge of America and Gethsemane Lutheran Church. Honoring her request, no services were held. (Obit dated 06/06/2001.)
John W. BREAKEY

John passed away peacefully in his sleep, after a lengthy illness of Alzheimer's, which was further complicated by pneumonia. He leaves behind his wife, Edith, to whom he was married
for 54 years. He also leaves to mourn, his daughters Julie Sparks and Julane Pharis, as well as three grandchildren, Rhonda Burgess, Brandi Germain and Chad Pharis and three great-grandchildren. John was a seaman in the Navy during World War II on the U.S.S. Rixie, which was a transfer ship for the wounded. After his discharge from the Navy, he went to work for the Seattle Post-Intelligencer in the Circulation department where he retired after more then 40 years of service. John was also a member of the Queen City Yacht Club. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, June 5th, at 11 a.m., at the Renton V.F.W. Hall, 416 Burnett South. Julia (Judy) Richardson BRIGHTON
passed away on 29 May 2001. She was born in Seattle; graduated from Roosevelt High School, and the University of Washington, and was a member of Sigma Kappa sorority. She was a member of the National Society of the Colonial Dames of America, Seattle Yacht Club, and former member of the Womenıs University Club, Seattle Tennis Club, and the Dr. Allison T. Wanamaker Guild of Childrenıs Hospital, and she enjoyed many years of volunteer service at that hospital. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Captain Edward E. Brighton, USN, and was survived by the pride and joy of her life, her son, Edward E. Brighton, Jr. of Seattle, and his wife Salaha; her brothers, Dio Richardson of Seattle, and Jackson Richardson of Richland, Washington. Her sisters, Dorothy Tucker and Jo Hotson, predeceased her. Goldie was welcomed into the arms of her Savior early on the morning of June 4th, 2001. Goldie's love of Christ and love of humankind are the legacy she leaves us. The forth of five children, she was born September 9, 1918 in Watford City, North Dakota to Haakon and Inger Ambjor. Goldie leaves behind her cherished husband of 54 years, Pastor Arnold Nelson, and her three beloved children and their spouses, David and Judy Nelson, Miriam and Shelby Brustuen, Mark Nelson and former daughter-in-law, Denise Nelson, six adored grandchildren, Brent Nelson, Marin Brustuen, Megan Brustuen, Matthew Brustuen, Maja Brustuen, and Crystal Nelson. Also surviving her are her much-loved siblings, Amby and Miriam Ambjor and Solveig and Jacque Schweiss and sisters-in-law Dorothy French and Marcella Nelson, as well as cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends. Family graveside services will be held at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home. A Memorial Celebration of Goldie's life will be held at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church, 7500 Greenwood Ave N., at 2 p.m., Thursday, June 14. Born and raised on Seattle's Capitol Hill, Bill attended Garfield High School and joined the Marine Corps in May 1952. He served on active duty for three years, and was awarded the Good Conduct medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He married
his wife Sandra on Dec. 22, 1956. He is survived by his wife, son Michael, granddaughter Breana, brother Don and his wife Marie of Costa Mesa, CA., plus numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his parents William and Helen and sister Gloria. He went to work for Bethlehem Steel in 1955 and retired from the steel industry in July 1990. Bill was a member of the Mt. Rainier Region Vintage Chevrolet Club. He was an avid Husky fan and an old car enthusiast.
