Fred enjoyed 81 glorious years of life. His enthusiasm for life was clear to all those who knew and loved him. The high values he placed on tradition, integrity, loyalty, and making every effort a success, were evident in all he undertook. Fred's love for all of us was consistently expressed through the obvious joy he took in each family member and friend. His guidance, support, and sense of humor will be greatly missed. Fred was a graduate of the U.S. Naval Academy and was a pilot during WWII. After the war he earned an aeronautical engineering degree at the California Institute of Technology and served our country for 22 years, advancing to the rank of Captain. Fred left the Navy and pursued a second successful career at Boeing in Seattle. There he undertook a number of assignments including that of President of the Boeing Construction & Engineering Division, and corporate Vice President. Fred retired in 1983 but never slowed down. He continued to provide his time and service to a number of community and industry groups, including the Executive Services Corp of Washington. Fred and his wife Belle also provided consistent support to the Seattle Art Museum. He also made sure his golf clubs gathered no dust. We are very thankful for the special love and friendship he brought into our lives.
