Lorine Marie STRUZNIK, 74, died June 6, 2001, in Covington. Lorine is survived by her daughter, Merrily Pettibone of Covington; and a son, Scott Struznik of Forks. Also surviving are four grandchildren, Regan Focht, Evanne Pettibone, Lindsey Struznik and Gray Struznik; and two great grandchildren. Services will not be held. Beverly Joan SYLTE, 68, passed away peacefully May 30, 2001, in Salt Lake City, Utah. Born May 12, 1933, in Portland Indiana. preceded in death by her husband William B. Sylte. Survived by children: Robin (Chuck) Peters, Larry Sylte, Penny (Mike) Whitsel, James (Rosie) Sylte, and Sandra (James) Gahan; 8 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; sister, Barbara J. Robinson; 3 nephews; 2 half sisters; step brother and sister; step mother, Mae Zearbaugh. Services will be held in Seattle, WA. at Holyrood cemetery Mon., June 4, 2001, 11 a.m. (Obit is from 06/02/2001 to 06/03/2001.)

Merrill Ellis TABON

Died in his sleep on May 29, 2001. Born near Blackstone, Virginia on March 29, 1944. Retired from Naval Service and served in the Vietnam war. Survived by his mother and two sisters of Virginia, one brother of New Jersey, and one sister of New York. He will be missed, loved and remembered by his Seattle family of Mary, Alycia & Aria Graves, and many friends. No local services; burial in Virginia on June 5. Michael Eugene TAYLOR

Michael Eugene TAYLOR of Seattle, age 51, died on June 4, 2001 in Scottsdale Arizona. He was born in Seattle June 26, 1949 to Elzie and Dolores Taylor. He grew up in the Central District graduating from Garfield HS in 1967 and the University of Washington in 1972. Michael was a very well known musician in the 70's, leading the horn section with his saxophone for Majestics and Onyx, touring R&B; bands. He spent the last twenty years in sales and sales management in the wireless communication industry with a four-year interlude in the late 80's as the creator and owner of the Madison Park Fitness Studio. Michael is survived by his beloved wife Angela Taylor and son Jordan of Scottsdale; his mother Dolores Donaldson; sister Gloria Taylor; brother David Taylor; brothers Raymond and Reggie Donaldson, all of Seattle and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and loving friends. A Memorial Service will be held on June 9, 2001 at 1 p.m. at Butterworth Manning Ashmore Funeral Home, 300 (Obit dated 06/08/2001.)

Leona Oakes TEECE

Leona was born in Saxton, Pennsylvania on August 28, 1920 and passed away on June 2, 2001 in Seattle, Washington. She is survived by her son, David, of Seattle and daughter, Diane, of Sacramento, California. A longtime resident of Allyn, Washington, Leona enjoyed traveling, walking along the Lakeland Village golf course, and participating in activities at the Senior Center in Belfair. She was very loved and will be missed by all who knew her. Honoring her request, no services will be held. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the North Mason Senior Citizens Association, PO Box 1445, Belfair, Washington 98528. (Obit dated 06/05/2001.)

Carol I. (Sollick) THOMAS

Carol Thomas, age 59 of Redmond, passed away June 6, 2001 wth her family at her side. She is survived by her husband Jim of 40 years; sisters Marilyn (Bernie) Klewin, and Andrea (John) Katzinski. She also leaves her two children Brian (Julie) Thomas, and Kathy (John) Welch, five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Services will be held Monday, June 11 at 11 a.m. at St. Jude's Parish in Redmond. Arrangements in care of Bleitz Funeral Home, Seattle (206) 282-5220.

William P. THOMA

Born June 13, 1916, Lafayette, Indiana, died June 6, 2001 in Seattle, WA. Bill was the young est of 10 children and graduated in engineering from Purdue University. He was the Vice President of engineering for Wyatt Engineers in Seattle. Bill is survived by his wife of 60 years, Helen, two children and their spouses, Susan and Jim McCarthy, Aptos, CA., Paul and Debbie Thoma, Seattle, and preceded in death by his son Mark Thoma. He is also survived by five grandchildren, Shannon, Sean, Brian, Marie and Elizabeth. A Memorial Mass Monday, June 11, 2001, 11 a.m. St. Francis of Assisi Church, Seahurst, WA.

Doris THOMPSON

Born 7/28/20 in Watertown, MN, died 6/2/01 in Seattle. preceded in death by her husband J.L. (Les) Thompson. Beloved mom of Grant (Maggie) of Lake Tahoe, Steve (Cindy) of Key West, Rich (Linda) of Orlando, Greg of Reno, and Sandra (Paul Tillotson) of Seattle. Grandmother of Megan, Jenny, Sara, Zoe, Mia, Stephanie, and Brent. Survived by sisters Grace Borup and Mae Hermansen of Minnesota, and many loving nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors. Doris grew up on a farm in Wisconsin with her Swedish family. She moved to Oakland in 1945, where she met the dashing Les Thompson, and married him in Honolulu in 1946 after a whirlwind courtship. Mom and Dad moved to Seattle in 1948 and stayed the rest of their lives. Mom was a devoted mother to her five children and "second mother" to many more. The coffee pot was always on and the cards were ready to deal! She will be forever missed by everyone who knew and loved her. A Celebration of her Life will be held in the fall. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. (Obit dated 06/06/2001.)

Also survived by her longtime friend, Carolee VanDyke of Ballard. Helen was a member of St. Bridget Parish. Age 85, of Seattle. Died June 6, 2001. She is survived by her three children, sons Jerry (Delores) Tibbs and Chuck (Loretta) Tibbs; daughter Cheri (Steve Ivers) Lyons; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Hazel Loretta TINSLEY

Born October 11, 1917 in Spokane, Washington, died June 3, 2001 surrounded by her family in Centralia, Washington. Hazel was the widow of 'Bud' Arthur Wilbur Tinsley, and is survived by three children: Loretta Anne Rusk of Lovington, New Mexico, Jesse Patricia Larsen recently of Centralia, Washington, and Karen Sue Greenup of Las Vegas, Nevada; seven grandchildren: Loretta JoAnne Smith, Patricia Renee Larsen, Joseph Arthur Lavandier, Sonja Anne Larsen, Peter Alexander Lavandier, Nicolas Emory Lavandier, Patrick Aaron Hookland, and Dana Elise Greenup (deceased); seven great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren; her brother Jack Gumm and his wife, Donna Gumm of Colville, WA; her Brother Ward Turner of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; three nieces, five nephews, and numerous great-nieces and nephews. Many people knew Hazel through her sixteen year career at Boeing in Kent and Renton as a Technical Librarian. Others knew her as one of the owners of A Different Drummer Bookstore, a well known and loved Capital Hill institution before its closing in 1984. Throughout her long and interesting life, Hazel was a gracious, loyal, and generous wife, mother, grandmother and family member who worked hard to keep every thing together through many moves, jobs and illnesses. There will be no memorial service. The family requests that remembrances be sent to North west Harvest. (Obit dated 06/05/2001.)

Glenna Belle TOLLETT

Glenna Belle TOLLETT, 87, passed away suddenly after successful surgery on May 31, 2001. Glenna was born December 17, 1913 in Graham, Arizona. She was office manager of Hurley Meat Packing Company in Phoenix, Arizona. In 1943, she and her husband, John, moved to Seattle and started A.B.C. Enterprises, Inc. Glenna was very active in the business community in Seattle. She was an accountant, mobile home park operator and partner in Bella Investment Co., Four Square Investment Co., Warehouses, Ltd., and Tri State Partnership. President of Halcyon Mobile Home Park, Inc., Co-owner, operator of Martha Lake Mobile Home Park, Member of Washington Mobile Park Owners Association, Legislative Chairman Lobbyist 1976-1985, Pres, 1978-79, Executive Director 1976-84. This Is Your Life Award 1979. Named to RV/Mobile Home Hall of Fame 1980. Wash Soc. of Assn. Executives, Executive Director Service Award 1983, Mobile Home Old Timers Assn., Mobile Home Owners of America, Secretary 1972-76. Appreciation Award 1976. National Fire Protection Assn. (Com. 1979-86). Aurora Parkway North Chamber of Commerce, Secretary 1976-80. Fremont Chamber of Commerce. Avocations: needlework, gardening, fishing, swimming, and trailering. Glenna was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie, in 1984 and her husband, John, in 1988. She is survived by her loving family and numerous friends. Visitation will be held Wednesday, June 6th from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Funeral service will be Friday, June 8, 2001 at 2 p.m. at Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home. Shirley TOSCHI

Of Ravensdale, died on May 30, 2001 after a short battle with cancer. Born to Lars and Fay Thompson on January 6, 1925 in Seattle. A lifelong resident of South King County, with the last 40 years on Lake Retreat. She was a homemaker, and belonged to the Sons of Italy Lodge in Black Diamond, and the Desiree Club. She was a lady with a lot of class. Shirley married Albert Stream in 1953, and Evo Toschi on June 12, 1981. preceded in death by Albert in 1980, Evo on April 8, 1995, and brother Donald in 1986. Survived by her stepson Steve Toschi of Renton, Bette Thompson, numerous nieces and nephews, and many friends. Memorials to charity of choice.
