Roy W. H. JOHNSON
Died Saturday, November 4, 2000, following hip replacement surgery.
He was 92.
Born in Escanaba, Michigan, Roy was a graduate of the University of Washington and a principle in The Frazier Company.
He was married
to Nina P. Johnson until her death in 1974.
He had two stepchildren, Kenneth Phelps and Helen Andrew, both who have predeceased him.
Roy was remarried
in 1975 to Mary Snyder who died in 1990.
His constant companion of the past 10 years, Babe Duttfield, shared Roy's love of horse racing, travel and the University of Washington Huskies.
As a member of the University President's Club and Tyee, Roy rarely missed a home Husky game.
He had homes in both Seattle and Laguna Hills, California, where he could indulge his horse racing passion twelve months of the year.
He also enjoyed golf, bowling and, until recently, a weekly game of bridge at the Washington Athletic Club.
Roy was a gentleman and a scholar who stressed the importance of integrity and displayed a remarkable ability to be nonjudgmental in daily life.
He will be missed by his six grandchildren, Coralee Stark, Jorja Aust, Marcia Phelps, Deleth Cassaday, and Troy Phelps of Seattle and Cheryl Norton of Fountain Valley, California; 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no funeral services.
However, a Memorial will be held Saturday, December 2, 2000 at Emerald Downs between 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., 6th Floor, Triple Crown Suites.
In lieu of flowers, Roy requested that donations be made to the Nina P. Johnson Fund at Children's Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle.

Charles E. KERCHER
Born September 17, 1925 in Cleveland, Ohio. Died November 6, 2000 in Des Moines at the age of 75.
Chuck was a mechanical engineer with Boeing until he retired in 1986.
Survived by his wife of 49 years, Martha; children, Karen Kucera of Lewiston, Idaho, Lynn Zachow of Auburn, James Kercher of Renton, Robert Kercher of Sumner; ten grandchildren and one great-grandson.
Viewing and gravesite service arranged by Bleitz Funeral Home, Seattle, will be private.

Anita Ruth KERSEY
Born October 4, 1911 in Springfield, Ohio.
She passed away November 6, 2000 in Seattle, Washington at the age of 89.
Mrs. Kersey was retired from Bell telephone after 30 years.
She and her husband Harry E. Kersey toured the New York and Chicago area as the professional dance duo Eduardo and Anita in the 30's and 40's and during WWII they performed for Olivia De Haviland when she visited Anchorage, Alaska.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Harry E. Kersey and is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 9, 2000 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and Funeral Service offered Friday, November 10, 2000 at 1 p.m.
Both at BONNEY-WATSON, Washington Memorial 16445 Pacific Hwy. S. in SeaTac, Wa.

Jean Elizabeth KNAPPE
Jean went to be with her loving Lord on November 6, 2000.
She will be greatly missed, but we will treasure our wonderful memories and keep them in our hearts always.
She is survived by her loving family; husband Bob and three daughters, Nancy (husband Mark and grandchildren Lauren and Steven), Sandy (husband Jim), and Diane (husband Jeff, grandson Tyler).
Her inner strength and unique spirit kept her strong for her family and friends throughout her illness.
Her devotion to family and friends was truly inspirational.
Her kind ness and comforting demeanor endeared her to all, and her special sense of humor and smile lighted up any room.
We love you Mom.
Her family offers specials thanks to Douglas Lee, M. D., and caring staff at N.W. Cancer Center, and to the physicians and supporting staffs at Northwest and Swedish Hospitals for their outstanding care and compassion.
Memorial Services will be held at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 18826 3rd N.W. Shoreline at 1:00 p.m., Saturday, November 11.

Thomas Daniel KUHLMEIER
Tom, born August 11, 1942 in Ft Madison, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, Nov. 1, in the U. S. Virgin Islands while on vacation with his wife, Joan.
Tom, the son of Mary Coons Kuhlmeier and Robert J. Kuhlmeier, was raised in Arkansas City, Kansas.
He married
Joan Findeiss on March 25, 1965 while they were students at Kansas State.
They moved to the Seattle area in 1966 and have been proud residents of West Seattle since 1972.
Tom was employed by The Boeing Company, Todd and Lockheed shipyards and the City of Seattle, Transportation Division.
While Tom could make a friend anywhere, many of his long-time friendships began through his association with the Jaycees, sports fishing, and amateur radio (WA7YFH), Tom also collected stamps, loved music, and supported the Seattle Symphony.
Not a fair-weather sports fan, Tom rooted for the Seattle Mariners long before Junior and A-Rod, and held Seahawk season tickets from the team's inception.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, his daughter, Katherine Marie, and his son, Kenneth Michael.
Survivors include his wife, his daughters, Kristine E. Kuhlmeier of Santa Monica, CA. and Karina Larson of Maple Valley, WA.
He also is survived by two grandsons, Cooper and Chance Larson; his father Robert J. Kuhlmeier of Mead, OK.; brother, Robert J. Kuhlmeier Jr. of Clearview City, KS.; and a sister, Janet Calvin, Winfield, KS.; and several nieces and nephews. Services will be Wednesday, November 8 at 3:30 p.m. at St. John the Baptist Episcopal Church, 4210 S.W. Hanford St., Seattle.

Eldon W. LAMPHERE
Eldon W. LAMPHERE was born September 24, 1913 in Cadillac, MI.
He died November 6, 2000 in Seattle, WA.
He is survived by his loving wife Olive and a sister Gwen Gionet and numerous nieces and nephews.
Memorial Services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, November 11, 2000 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church, 911 Stewart St., Seattle, WA. 98101.

Lloyd M. LANDWEHR
Loving husband, father, and grandfather.
Born October 7, 1915 in Cottage Grove, Oregon.
Died November 3, 2000.
He grew up in Astoria, Ore gon and graduated from Oregon State University in 1938 and was affiliated with Phi Kappa Si Fraternity.
After graduating with a degree in Mechanical Engineering he was hired by Texaco.
After a year of employment he enlisted in the National Guard in 1940.
He then joined the Air Force as a captain and served for 5 years, including a year in Cairo, Egypt.
Upon discharge, he returned to work for Texaco and retired in 1980.
He was a Charter Member of the Lake City Elks and was also in a Masonic order, Arcana Chapter, Kiwanis of Bothell.
He is survived by his wife Ruth of 52 years, his daughter, Ellen Cammack-Chandler, granddaughter Alison Cammack, sister Johanna Hendrickson and a niece and several nephews.
Lloyd was known for his wonderful sense of humor and kindness.
He will be missed by many.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday, November 10, 2000 at 2 p.m. at the Bothell Funeral Home, 18224 103rd Ave. N.E., Bothell.
