Florence May "Flo" HOLZER
West Seattle resident Florence "Flo" Holzer, a loving mother, grandmother and wife, passed away peacefully September 25, 2001. She is survived by her husband August "Gus", two sons Gary and Ronald, and three grandsons. Florence was born in Vancouver, B.C. on May 9th, 1918 the second of 7 daughters. After moving to Seattle as an infant, Flo spent the remainder of her life with her husband in Seattle raising two sons and caring for her parents. As an active participant in life, she enjoyed travel, the company of friends and family, singing, dancing, and played an important role in the Highland Park Community Club. Another of her great joys were arts and crafts, creating countless pieces of art that are still enjoyed by many. She almost always had something fresh out of the ceramic kiln ready to give unsuspecting visitors. With her best friend and husband, Gus, the two often traveled, visiting their many friends and family along the West Coast and spending time at their weekend home on Whidbey Island. When not traveling, their homes were always open to guests welcoming all with her gracious heart. Flo and Gus had recently celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary among family and friends. With the legacy of a loving nature, patience, and fun-loving attitude, Florence will be sorely missed by all who knew her. She will be remembered at a Memorial Service on October 10th at 2 p.m., at Evergreen-Washelli, 11111 Aurora Ave. N., Seattle. (Obit dated 10/03/2001.)
