John Dinsmore KNISELY
John Dinsmore KNISELY, 94, of Seattle. 'Jack' as he was known to family and friends was born in 1907 in Everett and grew up at his family home at Lake Stevens. He was the eldest of seven children of Wilda Ulysses Knisely, who owned an Everett print shop and Elsie Dinsmore Knisely, who wrote and published short stories. At age 19 he moved to Seattle where he took a job as a Linotype operator at University Printing Co., a position he retained until his retirement in December 1972. He was a member of International Typographical Union. In 1927 he met Berniece Marsden of Seattle. They were married
in June 1929. Together they built a house in the Hawthorne Hills area of Seattle in 1940 in which they lived together 61 years, raising four children. They are long time members of University Presbyterian Church. Jack was an avid amateur photographer whose work throughout his long life reflected his deep love of family and of the wonders of the natural world. As a member of the Seattle Photographic Society he was the recipient of numerous awards. He is survived by his wife Berniece; children, Peg Buschmann, Jim Knisely, Carole Korelin, and Richard Knisely; five grandchildren, Eric and Heidi Buschmann, Kim Korelin, and Jakob and Josh Knisely; also four sisters and a brother. SEATTLE - Memorial services for Naomi Ruth Kruzner, 91, of Lacey will be at 3 p.m., October 1, at Bonney-Watson Washington Memorial, 16445 Pacific Hwy. South, SeaTac. Mrs. Kruzner died Wednesday, September 18, at Roo Lann Healthcare Center in Lacey. Born May 2, 1910 in Ingham, IA, and resided in Seattle/Lacey for over 50 years. She was an avid Golfer and loving supporter of her late husband Victor Kruzner. She is survived by three stepchildren Richard and Gary Kruzner and Claudia Murray, nine grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Kay (Kathleen) M. KYNER
Born June 23, 1925 in Dayton, WA to Ralph and Avis Keener. Died September 29, 2001 in Kent, WA. Kay was the first baby born at the Dayton hospital and spent her early years on a 960 acre wheat ranch in Dayton and a food crop farm in Hermiston, OR. She moved with her family to Burien in 1940 where she graduated from Highline High School in 1943. Kay worked for Pan American Airlines where she met and married
Ray Kyner. She also worked for Foremost Dairy and Water District #20. After her retirement she moved to the Chehalis/Centralia area and then to Lake Wilderness Villa in Maple Valley four years ago. Kay was an avid Mariners fan, was devoted to her family and loved playing cards with her friends in Lake Wilderness Villa. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray F. Kyner in 1994 and her parents Avis and Ralph Keener. Beloved mother of Kathe Sweeney, Debbe Vincent and Minda (Ron) Zollner; grandmother of Krista (Barrett) Purcell, Jeremy Birch, Sarah and Scott Sweeney, Emily and Abby Vincent, Keena (Rick) Ramirez and Peter Zollner; great grandmother of Mareena Ramirez and sister of Toni (Don) Cline. Born February 12th 1914 in "Doc" Maynard's hospital, Seattle. Grew up in Bothell, later lived in Seattle, Olympia and Mt. Vernon. preceded in death by her husband of 60 years Burton Lauckhart. Excelled as wife, mother, grandmother and good friend to many. Passed on September 26th 2001. She is survived by son Lee, granddaughter Aana Agee, and two sisters, Mary Biles and Joy Lauckhart. December 13, 1986 in Bellevue, WA. Rob was a wonderful, dedicated husband, father, son, brother, and friend. Rob graduated from Sammamish High School in Bellevue, WA. in 1979. He received an Associates Degree from Griffin College and attended Seattle University. Rob worked at Microsoft for 10 years in various departments. He worked in Product Support at Microsoft University as a Trainer/Teacher/Speaker, and ending as a Program Manager in the Windows CE group. For the past 3 years, Rob was the CEO and President of Solthree Software Corporation in Issaquah, WA. There, he headed up projects such as working on the software of the hand held device at the Experience Music Project in Seattle. Rob was quite active in the local community. He donated much of his time and funds to the various local activities in Issaquah, including the Issaquah Music Festival. Rob touched many people's hearts. A Memorial Service, Celebration of Rob's Life, will be held on Saturday, October 6, 2001 at 11 a.m. at Eastgate Baptist Church, located at 15005 S.E. 38th St., Bellevue, WA. 98006. Beloved mother of Bobbi Jo Dymesich, Darrin J. Ludwig and his wife Stacie, and two unnamed daughters. Beloved grandmother of Ashley, James, Mathew, and Jordan. She is also survived by her mother, Marie, and seven brothers/sisters and their families; Georgie, Gary, Bill, Paul, David, Therese, and Mark. She attended Immaculate High School in Seattle, Washington, then lived most of her adult life in the San Francisco and Monterey Bay Areas of California. All who knew her, knew her grace, and were made stronger, kinder, and wiser. All who knew her love, knew great love. She will be dearly missed. Born May 27, 1913 in Ketchikan, Alaska to Norwegian immigrants, John and Konstance Sjursen. Helen passed away peacefully at Bellevue's Kelsey Creek Hospice on September 27, 2001. She will always be remembered as a warm, understanding and most devoted mother, and a special person to all who knew her. Helen graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle, living most of her life in Seattle, before moving to Kirkland to be near her family. She is survived by her children, Gordon Legg (Karen), Kirkland; Stephen Legg, Bellevue; Kathleen Repass (Fred), Kirkland; Donald Legg (Kim), Gig Harbor; and eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Also survived by her sister-in-law, Wanda Dray of West Seattle, and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Legg, Sr., brothers, Norman and Frank Sjursen, and sisters, Sarah Nowell, Eldrid Nolen and Marie Mortenson. Elizabeth "Betty" Joann LEMAY, 69, born May 8, 1932 in Gifford, ID., died September 30th in Puyallup. Moved to Skyway in 1953 from Idaho, and to Puyallup in 1990. Married Howard January 9, 1952 in Seattle. Retired from Boeing in 1989 after 35 years of service. Betty enjoyed bowling, music box collecting. She was an avid baseball fan (Seattle Mariners). preceded in death by son Dennis, February 1971. Survived by husband Howard LeMay, Puyallup; son Steven and Renee LeMay, Maple Valley; grandchildren Alyssa and Mason; sisters, Rosemary Newman, Boise, ID., and Laberta Thompson, Hines, OR. Born in Seattle to Norwegian immigrants, Marie Dorum Shudshift and Ivar Shudshift. She and her two sisters (who preceded her in death) were raised in Silvana, WA. where they attended grade school. She graduated from Arlington High School as co-valedictorian in 1931 and Bellingham College in 1934. In 1936 while teaching school in Sunnyside, WA. she met D.A. (Mickey) Leonardo. They were married
in 1938 and together operated a photography business in Sunnyside while also farming in Granger, WA. where they raised their 3 children. Later they both taught school in the Granger School District where Martha became widely known for having developed a unique reading system called "Phonetic Phonics 46." Many students benefited from this exceptional program. Martha is survived by her husband of 63 years, D.A. Leonardo, her daughter Elena Leonardo, her son Douglas and daughter-in-law Judye, her son Gary and daughter-in-law Lenda, eight grand-children and six great grandchildren.
