Susan Dayton
Former Bremerton resident Susan L. Dayton, 81, died of cancer May 12, 1999.
She was born Nov. 12, 1917, in Twin Bridges, Mont., to Robert Everett and Della Darlene (Nyhart) Woods. She was raised in Nebraska, Seattle and on Bainbridge Island, where she graduated from high school in 1937.
On May 6, 1939, she married
Frank V. Dayton.
Mrs. Dayton was a retired bookkeeper and co-owner, with her husband, of Tri-County Business Equipment and Stationery in Bremerton.
She was a member for many years of the Soroptimists, was a member of the board and treasurer of the Gila River Community Chapel and was area coordinator for Garden Talk and the Neighborhood Watch Program. She rejuvenated and dressed many dolls for the Toys For Tots program.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Frank of Bremerton; a daughter, Susan Barr of Yakima; a brother, Rodger Woods of Kittitas, Wash.; and four grandchildren, Drake Dayton of Reno, Nev., Rebecca Henderson of Lynnwood, Jeff Dayton of Fayetteville, N.C., and Heidi Dayton of Columbia, S.C. She was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Jr. and a son, Charles "Chuck" Dayton.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the First Presbyterian Church of Florence in Arizona.
In lieu of flowers, memorials will be accepted in her honor by the church.
Lorraine Puderbaugh
Lorraine D. Puderbaugh, 79, of Bremerton died May 16, 1999, at her home.
She was born Feb. 24, 1920, in Timmer, N.D., to Vera (Finch) and Maurice W. Casteel. She was raised and educated in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High in 1939.
That same year, she married
Harry C. Puder-baugh in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1994.
Mrs. Puderbaugh was a member of the Westside Improvement Club and the Pacers CB Club.
Survivors include a son, Michael of New Castle, Wash.; a daughter, Donna Johnsen of Bremerton; four brothers, Byrl and Wayne, both of Shelton, Morey of Port Orchard and Marvin of Yuma, Ariz.; four grand-children, Lisa Johnsen of Seattle, Tanya Johnsen of Silverdale and Brian and Michael Puderbaugh, both of New Castle.
A celebration of life for Harry and Lorraine Puderbaugh will be from 2 to 5 p.m. June 6 at the Westside Improvement Club.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Donald Ghylin
Donald E. Ghylin, 42, of Port Orchard died May 13, 1999.
He was born May 1, 1957, in Juneau, Alaska, to Chuck and Donna (Stivers) Swanson. He was raised and educated in Silverdale, graduating from Central Kitsap High School in 1976.
In 1976, he joined the Air Force, serving until 1980. He worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport.
In addition to his companion Carole Gonzalez, survivors include his parents, Chuck and Donna Swanson of Bremerton; two brothers, Dave of Seabeck and Dennis of Moses Lake; two sisters, Geri Mason of Silverdale and Gaylynn Coleman of Bremerton; and his grandmother, Gladys Stivers of Port Orchard.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Richard Hendricks
Richard H. Hendricks, 81, of Bremerton died May 11, 1999.
Mr. Hendricks owned Quality Remodeling for more than 25 years.
Survivors include his wife, Betty; a daughter, Becky Callahan of Seattle; two stepsons, Bill Lee of Gig Harbor and Stan Lee of Tacoma; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 11 a.m. today at the Chapel of Fir Lane Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 924 176th St. E in Spanaway.
Location of a reception following the services will be announced at that time.
William Blahm
William H. Blahm, 41, of Port Orchard died May 16, 1999.
He was born Feb. 6, 1958, in Bremerton to Theodore Blahm and Alice (Winslow) Manley. He was raised in Manchester and attended South Kitsap High School.
Mr. Blahm worked as a lofter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 15 years.
Survivors include his fiancee, Cathy Davis of Port Orchard; his mother; a son, Theodore of Belfair; a stepson, Justin of Montana; a stepdaughter, Chanda Johnson of Sequim; and two sisters, Shirlene Wells of Eagle River, Alaska, and Trina Byerly of Belfair. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Ted.
A memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Rill Chapel.

Vicky Morrow
Vicky L. Morrow, 46, of Port Orchard died May 14, 1999, at University Hospital in Seattle.
She was born Nov. 16, 1952, in Seattle to Bernard and Bettie (Vincent) Bouton. She was raised in Seattle.
On Feb. 11, 1978, she married
Gregory A. Morrow in San Diego.
Mrs. Morrow had worked as a licensed practical nurse in Seattle and San Diego, a professional clown and professor of clownology in Vancouver, Wash., and was the former owner of Giggles Inc. in San Diego. She was also a former civilian ombudsman and ombudsman trainer for the Navy in the Northwest. For the past seven years she had owned and operated Morrow's Tole Booth as an artist.
She was a former director and co-founder of the Night Cap'ers emergency radio service in San Diego and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Port Orchard.
Survivors include her husband; her mother; two daughters, Leaanna Davis of Bremerton and Tanya Morrow of Port Orchard; two brothers, Daniel and Bradley, both of Seattle; three sisters, Pamela Romeo of Seattle, Pennie Bouton of Florence, Ore., and Renee Moore of Bonney Lake; and two grandchildren, Deshelia and Devohn Davis, both of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by her father and two grandchildren, Chantle and John Davis.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Port Orchard.
Interment will be at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard following the service.

Stanley Morris
Stanley Leo Morris, 85, of Bremerton died May 16, 1999, at his home.
He was born Feb. 14, 1914, in Decatur, Ill., to George and Mabel (Geisler) Morris. They moved to Washington state in 1919, and he lived in the Grays Harbor area, attending schools in Montesano and Port Angeles. He graduated from Ontario High School in Ontario, Ore.
In 1935, he married
his first wife, Faye. She died in 1961. On Dec. 5, 1962, he married
Roberta Bushey in Bremerton.
Mr. Morris had worked for various newspapers. He worked as circulation manager for The Sun for 30 years, retiring in 1977.
He was an active member of the Silverdale 1st Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as bishop and in many other leadership roles. He was also active with the Boy Scouts of America.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kimbrough of Richfield, Utah; three daughters, Brenda of Las Vegas, Nev., Sandii May of Bremerton and Karen Duff of Antioch, Calif.; five grandchildren, Trever Thacker, Jennifer Bronaugh, Rochelle Stevenson, Grant Morris and Scott May; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 2 to 3 p.m. Friday with a funeral service immediately following, both at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Silverdale. Interment
will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Mary Jane Baker
Mary Jane "Janie" Baker, 74, of Allyn died May 16, 1999, at her home on Treasure Island.
She was born May 2, 1925, in Rio Hondo, Texas.
On May 11, 1986, she married
Burrell Baker in Yuma, Ariz.
Mrs. Baker was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Bryce Larson of Portland, Ore.; two daughters, Tina Rickdal of Burien and Karla Mutzel of Enumclaw; a sister, Thelma Abel of Cold Spring, Texas; and nine grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at North Mason Bible Church.

Raymond Hurd
Former Port Orchard resident Raymond George Hurd, 72, died May 16, 1999, in Tacoma.
He was born Dec. 5, 1926, in Port Orchard.
Mr. Hurd retired from civil service after more than 30 years of employment.
Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Anne L. Hurd of Fircrest; two sons, David of University Place and Mark of California; a daughter, Linda Hurd-Rabben of Bremerton; two brothers, Clifford of Idaho and Eddie Finey of Bremerton; three sisters, Frances Tallman and Bonnie Swanson, both of Bremerton, and Maxine Butcher of Port Orchard; nine grandchildren, Jennifer, Carrie, Michael, Amy, Mark, Erick, Mitchell, Rebekah and Zechkariah; and one great-grandchild.
At his request, no services will be conducted.

John Hart
Longtime Port Orchard resident John William Hart, 72, died May 15, 1999.
He was born April 3, 1927, in Lansford, N.D.
Mr. Hart served in the Army during the Korean War. He later worked as a polisher at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include three sons, James of Port Orchard, John of Gympie, Australia, and Shannon of Belfair; two daughters, Bonnie Morrison of Kingston and Randee Hennessy of Gilroy, Calif.; two brothers, Gary and Wesley; a sister, Grace Fields; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at noon May 29 at Washington Veterans Home, with a potluck lunch following the service.
Interment will be at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
