Doug Hansen
Doug Walter Hansen, 73, of Bainbridge Island died May 2, 1999.
He was born Dec. 25, 1925, on Bainbridge Island to Cecil and Lydia (Grow) Hansen. He was raised and educated on Bainbridge Island, graduating from Bainbridge High School in 1944.
Mr. Hansen served in the Navy from 1944 to 1946. He later worked with the Los Angeles City Fire Department for 29 years, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of the Liars Club at Rolling Bay.
Survivors include his companion, Margaret Moe of Bainbridge Island; a son, Wayne of Bakersfield, Calif.; a daughter, Susie Marsden of Fort Collins, Colo.; a brother, Roger of Bainbridge Island; a sister, Betty Brick of Marysville; and one grandchild, Ian Marsden of Fort Collins.
A memorial service was conducted May 6. Inurnment will be at Kane cemetery on Bainbridge Island.
Arrangements were under the direction of Kass Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Widows and Orphans Fund, c/o the Los Angeles Firefighters Retirement Association, 2900 W. Temple St., Los Angeles, CA 90026.

Helen Bollerslev
Longtime Kitsap County resident Helen Waneta Bollerslev, 89, died April 28, 1999, in Port Angeles.
She was born Nov. 1, 1909, in Fort Wayne, Texas, to Elmer E. and Lulu May (Kahler) Hartzell.
Survivors include three sons, Brian Jack of Texas, Dan Bollerslev of Port Angeles and John Bollerslev of Edmonds; a daughter, Isabell Kimball of Poulsbo; a stepson, George Thomas Bollerslev; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Marion Hugh Jack, and her second husband, George Bollerslev.
A memorial will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Jack Anderson II
Jack Wesley Anderson II, 22, of Bremerton died May 2, 1999, in Seattle.
He was born Nov. 28, 1976, in Seattle to Tami (Johnson) Valeriano and Ronald "Jon" Anderson.
He was raised in Port Orchard and received his high school diploma in 1993 from Olympic College.
He had worked for the past two years as a silk-screen printer and driver for J&J; Printers Inc. of Bremerton.
Survivors include his stepfather and mother, Cliff and Tami Valeriano of Port Orchard; his father and stepmother, Ron and Annie Anderson of Kent; a brother, Scott Allen Madoulet of Auburn; a sister, Jennifer Rae Anderson of Bremerton; and his fiancee, Amber Henle of Kent.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Marlett's Funeral Home, 713 N Central, Kent.
Inurnment will be at Hillcrest cemetery in Kent.
Donations may be made in the memory of Jack Anderson for a family fund in Kitsap Community Federal Credit Union account No. 199733 in his mother's name, Tami (Johnson) Valeriano.

Jerry Johnson
Jerry J. Johnson, 53, of Port Orchard died May 2, 1999, at his home.
He was born July 1, 1945, in Bremerton to E. Ronald and Virginia (Granum) Johnson. He was raised in Port Orchard, graduating from South Kitsap High School in 1963.
Mr. Johnson served in the Army National Guard. He later started Kitsap Optical Inc., which he owned for 17 years.
He was a member of the Bremerton Area Chamber of Commerce and sponsored numerous charity events.
On Oct. 2, 1965, he married Linda Johnson in Port Orchard.
Survivors include his wife; his parents; two sons, Lance of Idaho Falls, Idaho, and Kurt of Oakboro, N.C.; a daughter, Kaaren Parsons of Idaho Falls; a brother, Ron of Southworth; and four grandchildren, Casey Parsons, Mikayla Parsons and Cason Johnson, all of Idaho Falls, and Corey Johnson of North Carolina.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rill Chapel.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Ina Rye
Ina M. Rye, 77, of Bremerton died May 3, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Sept. 16, 1921, in Allen, Okla. She was raised and educated in Oklahoma.
In 1943, she married Bill Weaver. Following their divorce, she married Frank Warner in 1957. He preceded her in death in 1972. In 1974, she married James O. Rye. He preceded her in death in 1977.
Mrs. Rye worked as a welder at the shipyard in Oakland, Calif., during World War II. Following the war, she was one of the few female welders to stay on at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in the early 1970s.
She was a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
Survivors include four stepsons, Roger Rye of Federal Way and Jim, Jerry and Donald Rye, all of Bremerton; three daughters, Barbara Weaver of Bremerton, Beverly Alexander of Sunnyslope and Patricia Markwick of Poulsbo; a stepdaughter, Linda Rye-Hurd of Bremerton; 14 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean Gilbert, in 1976.
A memorial service will be at 4 p.m. Friday at 3900 Almira, Bremerton. Inurnment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the American Lung Association, 2625 Third Ave., Seattle, WA 98121.

Charlotte Titus
Charlotte Faith Titus, 85, of Bremerton died May 1, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 11, 1913, in Stillwater, Minn., to William and Deborah (Walton) Redlich. She was raised and educated in Minnesota.
On June 22, 1940, she married Delmar Titus in Minneapolis. He preceded her in death earlier this year.
Mrs. Titus worked as a salesperson for Browns Music for 15 years, retiring in 1964. She also taught piano and organ.
She was a member of the Washington State Music Teachers Association from 1968 to 1992.
Survivors include a daughter, Stephanie Mack of Kahuku, Hawaii; a grandchild, Tom Shanley of Bremerton; and one great-grandchild.
No services will be conducted.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the Harrison Hospital Foundation, 2520 Cherry Ave., Bremerton, WA 98310.

John Brundel
Former Bremerton resident John Brundel, 68, died of lung cancer April 27, 1999.
He was born Nov. 2, 1930, in Holland and raised there.
Mr. Brundel moved to Canada in 1954 and then to the Unites States in 1964. He worked for the TB&M; grocery store as a bakery manager for several years and then worked for Safeway as a bakery manager for 18 years.
On Nov. 9, 1972, he married Jann Murphy at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
After his retirement, he joined RV Life and managed campgrounds, retiring in 1991.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Niki of Seattle; three stepdaughters, Patti Martin of California, Kathryn Westin of Seattle and Cindi Sarchet of Bremerton; a sister in Holland; five stepgrandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Private services were conducted.

David Cremeans
David C. Cremeans, 79, of Port Orchard died of cancer May 3, 1999, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1919, in Cheshire, Ohio, to David C. and Florence K. (Minter) Cremeans. He was raised and educated in Ohio.
On Aug. 12, 1944, he married Patricia E. Reed in Everett. She preceded him in death in 1971.
Mr. Cremeans served in the Navy from 1941 to 1947. He later worked for 20 years as an aviation metalsmith at Alameda Naval Air Station in California, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 2669 and the Port Orchard Eagles.
Survivors include two sons, David III of Port Orchard and Eugene of Indiana; two brothers, Denzel of Ohio and Norvel "Slick" of California; nine grandchildren, Michael, Christina, Ken, Jimmy, Ricky, Roy, Tricia, Spring and David; and 14 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Ray.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. today and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, both at Rill Chapel.
A memorial service will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, also at Rill Chapel. Inurnment will be at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, Kitsap Unit, P.O. Box 2383, Bremerton, WA 98310.

Ethel LeBeau
Former Bremerton resident Ethel Mae LeBeau, 71, died April 21, 1999, at the Beverly Health Care Center in Mobridge, S.D.
She was born Nov. 20, 1927, in New Castle, Wyo., to Jasper and Ethel (McIntosh) Williams. She was raised and educated in New Castle.
On May 28, 1948, she married Sibby LeBeau in Rapid City, S.D. They moved to Bremerton in 1963.
Mrs. LeBeau worked as a licensed practical nurse in Bremerton and in New Castle for more than 25 years.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Terry of Casper, Wyo., and Randy of Bremerton; a daughter, Sheri Bone of Bremerton; a brother, Robert of Casper; two sisters, Virginia Wahl and Eva Scruggs, both of New Castle; nine grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry; a daughter, Linda; and two brothers.
No services will be conducted. Interment icon will be at a later date in the New Castle cemetery in Wyoming.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Association, Sioux Land Chapter.
