Renee Cloes
Renee Janet Cloes, 75, of Illahee died June 28, 1999, at her home.
She was born Sept. 25, 1923, in Seattle.
She had been a loan officer for Sparkman and McLane in Seattle, retiring in 1975.
Survivors include two sons, Richard Cloes of Bremerton and Donald Cloes of Concord, Calif.; two daughters, Sylvia Poff of Quail Valley, Calif., and Valerie DeLeo of Texarkana, Ark.; a sister, Pat Sisson of Mansfield, Wash.; 10 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A gathering of friends and family took place Tuesday at her home.

Carla Eaton
Carla Cossette Eaton, 62, of Bremerton died June 25, 1999, at Harrison Hospital due to illness.
She was born March 13, 1937, on Bainbridge Island to Ernie Cossette and Stella Olsen. She grew up in Winslow on Bainbridge Island, graduating from Bainbridge High School.
She married
Gary Eaton on April 7, 1956, on Bainbridge Island.
Survivors include a son, Corky of Port Orchard; a daughter, Teresa DeIeso; a sister, Marcia Cossette of Puyallup; and four grandchildren, Gary and Jonathan Eaton and Candice and Kenny Priest, all of Bremerton.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. July 11 at the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 239 in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Hazel Walsh
Hazel L. Walsh, 99, a Kitsap County pioneer and resident of Bremerton, died June 23, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 20, 1900, in Buckley to Frank and Harriet (Alger) Sorrell.
In 1916, she married
Frank Walsh in South Colby. He preceded her in death in 1968.
Mrs. Walsh was a homemaker. She had been a practical nurse, a home health care nurse, a nanny and had worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard during World War II. She also picked and packed brush for Callison's Holly Farm until she was 75.
She was a volunteer for numerous charities and museums in the area.
Mrs. Walsh was a lifelong member of Colby United Methodist Church, Sweet Adelines choir club, Moose Lodge Drill Team and was a 20-year member of the Frances Haddon Morgan Guild.
Survivors include two sons, Lorrin of Bremerton and Robert of Colby; three daughters, Hazel Buss of Port Orchard and Frances Valle and Dorothy Dworkin of Chicago; 14 grandchildren; 43 great-grandchildren; 48 great-great-grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Visitation was Monday at Rill Chapel, and the funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Colby United Methodist Church. Interment
will be at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.

Jason Madayag
Jason Lee Madayag, 27, of Bainbridge Island died June 24, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 21, 1971, in Seattle to Toribio "Pinky" and Lupe (Pastrana) Madayag. He grew up on Bainbridge Island, graduating from Bainbridge High School in 1993.
Survivors include his parents and a brother, Michael Madayag of Keyport.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Kass Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island. A rosary will be said at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Thursday, also at St. Olaf's Catholic Church.

Thomas Bockelman
Thomas Alan Bockelman, 52, of Bainbridge Island died June 25, 1999, on Bainbridge Island.
He was born Oct. 30, 1946, in Cincinnati. He married
Victoria Margaret Stevens on Nov. 11, 1970, in Honolulu.
Mr. Bockelman served in the Navy as a master chief machinist's mate on nuclear submarines, retiring in 1987. He also was plant manager for Sound Publishing.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Chris-Deanne Henesey and Jodi Bockelman, both of Bainbridge Island; two sisters, Linda Siemon of Silverdale and Martha Paschka of Cheektowaga, N.Y.; and two grandsons.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Bethany Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee Funeral & Cremation Services of Bremerton.
Jean Heath
C. Jean Heath, 73, of Sequim died June 24, 1999, in Port Angeles.
She was born Aug. 27, 1925, in Louisville, Ky., to Willard Gray and Ethel May (Bolin) Anderson Sr. She grew up in Louisville, graduating from high school in Kentucky.
She married
Ervin H. Heath on Nov. 5, 1945, in Los Angeles. He preceded her in death in May of this year.
Mrs. Heath involved herself in volunteerism early in life, working with the USO during World War II. Later, she served as a den mother for her sons' Cub Scout troop and as president of the PTA.
For 17 years, she had been well known in the Sequim area for her volunteer work with the visitors center. She received an award of appreciation in 1990 from the North Olympic Peninsula Visitor & Convention Bureau and, in 1993, was selected as the organization's Tourism Promoter of the Year. She received an executive award for volunteerism in 1996 also from the North Olympic Peninsula Visitor & Convention Bureau.
Survivors include three sons, Steven of Pasco, Larry of Corvallis, Ore., and John of Bremerton; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at the Sequim Valley Chapel. Burial will take place in the Dungeness cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Sequim Valley Chapel.

Ruth Blair
Ruth R. Blair, 92, a resident of Gig Harbor for nearly 50 years, died June 25, 1999, in Tacoma.
She was born Jan. 1, 1907, in Molina, Colo.
She retired in 1973, after working at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for more than 30 years, primarily in the optical shop and as a timekeeper.
Survivors include two daughters, Arlene Ahiers of Port Orchard and Paula Beatty of Olympia; a son, Duane Blair of Longview; 11 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Haven of Rest Funeral Home in Gig Harbor.

Zona Powell
Zona Moore Powell, 81, of Everett and formerly of Bainbridge Island, died
June 21, 1999, at her home.
She was born July 24, 1917, in Springfield, Ill., to Todd and Della (Moore) Simmons. She grew up in Pasco and in Seattle, graduating from Highline High School in 1935, and from the University of Washington in 1967.
She married
Richard H. Powell on May 14, 1936, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Mrs. Powell was a fourth-grade teacher at Wilkes Elementary School on Bainbridge Island from 1968 until her retirement in 1974. She was a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
Survivors include a son, Tod Powell of Spokane; two daughters, Janice Lund of Bainbridge Island and Lori Warren of Snohomish; a sister, Alba Greenfield of Seattle; and six grandchildren, Michael Powell of Spokane, Sherri Eckert of Indianola, Stephanie and Krista Lund, both of Seattle, and Scott and Sierra Warren, both of Snohomish; and one great-granddaughter. She was preceded in death by a son, Douglas Powell.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Purdy and Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home in Everett.

Eugene Ford
Eugene A. Ford, 47, of Port Orchard died June 27, 1999, of cancer at his home.
He was born Nov. 28, 1951, in Red Bank, N.J., to Eugene A. and Genevieve Ruth (French) Ford. He grew up in Red Bank, moving to Seattle in 1967 and graduating from Tyee High School in SeaTac in 1972.
Mr. Ford served in the Army from 1978 to 1986, with duty in Korea, Germany, Fort Lewis and Fort Bragg, N.C. He was a staff sergeant with numerous awards.
He had been employed as a roto molder at the The Boeing Co. in Auburn for 11 years. He was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his mother; two brothers, Gerald Ford of Shelton and Mike Ford of Port Orchard; and a sister, Barbara Kealy of Shelton. He was preceded in death by his father in 1974 and by a brother, Ronald Ford, in 1992.
A funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard following the service.
Robert Gordon Moore-Houghtelling
Robert Gordon Moore-Houghtelling of Allyn died June 24, 1999, at Mary Bridge Childrens' Hospital in Tacoma.
He was born that day in Shelton to Doug Houghtelling, of Belfair, and Gabrielle Moore, of Allyn. He lived for nine hours.
Survivors include his parents; paternal grandparents Robert and Louise Houghtelling of Allyn; and maternal grandmother and her husband Valerie and Robert Colson of Allyn.
A graveside memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn cemetery. Visitation will precede the service at 9 a.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
