Elna Wyckoff
Elna Arika Wyckoff, 97, died June 4, 1999, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born May 28, 1902, in Sweden to Eugenie and Jonas Oskar Lundstrom.
The family emigrated to Ontario, Canada, in 1906, and Mrs. Wyckoff was raised and educated in Revelstoke and Golden, British Columbia.
Her husband, Frederick Wyckoff, preceded her in death in 1965.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Olympia; two daughters, Edith E. Lewis of Bremerton and Ethel C. Travis of Olympia; four grandchildren, Anita Brust of Salt Lake City, Rebecca Olness of Black Diamond, Robert C. Wyckoff Jr. of Kenmore and Christine Welch of Seattle; eight great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be 1 p.m. today at Miller- Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
Mary Reese
Mary Elizabeth Reese, 76, of Poulsbo died June 2, 1999, in Tacoma.
She was born Oct. 29, 1922, in Truman, Ark.
Survivors include two sons, Paul Tinker of Bremerton and Jeffery Reese of California; a daughter, Barbara Crowe of Lakeland, Fla.; a brother, Mell Scrivner of Temple, Texas; six grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn cemetery. A graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday also at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee Funeral & Cremation Services of Bremerton.
Richard Parks
Richard E. Parks, 79, died June 3, 1999, at Bremerton Convalescent Center.
He was born Dec. 28, 1919, in Seattle, graduating from Lincoln High School in Seattle in 1938. He married
Mary Jo Dundas on Sept. 6, 1947.
Mr. Parks began a machinist apprenticeship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, then served in the Navy during World War II.
Following his military service, he returned to Seattle where he worked at American Can Co., retiring in 1976. He then returned to Bremerton and worked at PSNS until his retirement in 1981.
Mr. Parks was a member of Elks Lodge 1181 and the Sons of Norway.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Dianne San Clement of Camano Island; a son, Gary of Kirkland; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Melba Burt
Melba Jean Burt, 83, of Poulsbo died June 5, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Feb. 26, 1916, in Murray, Utah, to Louis and Bertha (Tripp) McCleary. She was raised and educated in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School in 1934.
She married
Gilbert I. Burt on Oct. 14, 1934, in Port Orchard. He died June 6, 1999, at home. The couple had been married
64 years.
Mrs. Burt was a homemaker.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally Forcier of Poulsbo and Patricia Burt of Silverdale; a sister, Norma J. Pappas of Bremerton; seven grandchildren, Louis Lashlee, Jon Forcier, Paul Forcier, Mathieu Forcier, Jody Lashlee, Melody Lashlee and Victoria Lashlee; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Gilbert Burt
Gilbert Ivan Burt, 85, of Poulsbo, died June 6, 1999, at his home.
He was born July 4, 1913, in Muskogee, Okla., to John and Lena (Blatti) Burt. He was raised and educated in Port Orchard, graduating from South Kitsap High School in 1931.
He married
Melba McCleary on Oct. 14, 1934, in Port Orchard. She preceded him in death on June 5, 1999. The couple had been married
64 years.
Mr. Burt worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1940 until his retirement in the late 1960s as a general foreman in the outside machine shop.
Survivors include two daughters, Sally Forcier of Poulsbo and Patricia Burt of Silverdale; seven grandchildren, Louis Lashlee, Jon Forcier, Paul Forcier, Mathieu Forcier, Jody Lashlee, Melody Lashlee and Victoria Lashlee; and seven great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Michael Green
Former Kitsap County resident Michael D. Green, 57, of Stockton, Calif., died June 4, 1999, at his home.
He was born Aug. 4, 1941, in Westbranch, Mich. He attended high school in Michigan and college in Texas and Florida.
Mr. Green joined the Air Force in 1960 at the age of 19 and traveled around the world in service to his country. He retired from the Air Force in 1981.
He began his civil service career at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, working there eight years before transferring to Sharpe Army Depot in Stockton. He lived in Silverdale from 1985 to 1993, before moving to Stockton.
Mr. Green was a member of American Legion Post 149 in Bremerton and the AFG Labor Practice. He was a member of the Buddhist Temple in Stockton.
Survivors include his wife, Maria of Stockton; three sons, Michael Green Jr. of Seattle, Franklin Padilla Green and Kevin Green, both of Stockton; two daughters, Ruth Bryant of Seattle and Sylvia Green of Stockton; two grandchildren, Deloris Bryant and Michael D. Bryant, both of Seattle; and a sister, Jewell Briggs of Sagninaw, Mich.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home in Lodi, Calif. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, also at Cherokee Memorial Funeral Home. Interment
will follow with honors at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi.
Lorene Moss
Lorene Moss, 57, of Bremerton died of cancer June 5, 1999, in Seattle.
She was born March 7, 1942, in Butler, Ala., to Lorenzo and Theola (Mays) Moss. She grew up in Butler, graduating from Choctaw County High School there in 1960.
Survivors include two sons, Scott Moss of Federal Way and Ron Moss of Bremerton; three daughters, Sheila Moss, Nicole Moss and Dana Borja, all of Bremerton; eight brothers, Erie Moss of Cincinnati, Douglas Moss of Birmingham, Ala., Lorenzo Moss of Livingston, Ala., and Clyde Moss, Charles Moss, Bobbie Moss, Ricky Moss and James Moss, all of Meridian, Miss.; five sisters, Claudean Stephens and Mildred Moss, both of York, Ala., Gracie Moss of Meridian, Linda Carter of Georgia and Barbara Ann of Birmingham; and four grandchildren, Ryan Borja and Sierra Borja, both of Bremerton, and Christian Moss and Austin Moss, both of Federal Way.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Chapel. A graveside service will follow at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Inez Rowland
Inez Rosila Highley Rowland, 70, died May 30, 1999, at Mount Baker Care Center in Bellingham.
She was born May 16, 1929, in Montevallo, Mo., to James M. and Gertie Ann Highley. She graduated from Eldorado Springs High School in 1947. She was a member of Montevallo Baptist Church in Montevallo.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Francis Alvin Young, in 1957; her second husband, John Herbert Rowland, in 1993; and two brothers, Roy and Everett Frazer.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Olkjer of Bellingham; a son, Darrel Young of Bremerton; two stepsons, David Rowland of Kennewick and Daniel Rowland of Richland; four brothers, Alvie, Norman, Orvan and James Highley; four sisters, Virginia Summerville, Margorie Turner, Evelyn Oliver and Helen Burris; three grandchildren, Shawna Young, Amber Cammack and Christopher Cammack; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held at 3 p.m. Monday at Purdy & Walters with Cassidy Funeral Home in Everett. Private inurnment will be at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Edmonds.

Ernest Cyphers
Ernest Leonard Cyphers, 79, of Bremerton died June 3, 1999, at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton of complications from cancer.
He was born July 12, 1919, in Molina, Colo., to Blanche (Youngberg) and William S. Cyphers. He was raised in Colorado, graduating from Paonia High School in 1937.
He served in the Army for a year in 1938-39, then in the Merchant Marines in 1943-44, sailing to South America, the Bahamas and other ports.
He most recently worked for the Navy at Adak, Alaska, and Keyport in the box shop, retiring in 1989 after 25 years. He previously worked in heavy construction.
He was a member of the Kitsap Lake Baptist Church and the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, Local 2317.
He and Mildred Bruner were married
June 12, 1954, in Silverdale.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Byron of Bremerton and Dean of Sturgis, S.D.; a daughter, Boni Tymon of Gales Ferry, Conn.; a brother, Oscar of Cornelious, Ore.; seven grandchildren, Christina Wade of Port Orchard, Destini Stauffer, Zachary Cyphers and Gabriel Cyphers, all of Bremerton, Jason Tymon of Pittsburgh, Desiree Cyphers of Sturgis and Brittnee McClure of Rapid City, S.D.; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home in Bremerton from 3 to 5 p.m. Tuesday and noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday, with a funeral service at Miller-Woodlawn at 1 p.m. Wednesday.

Josephine Johnson
Josephine M. 'Jo' Johnson, 80, of Port Orchard died of cancer May 31, 1999, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born May 17, 1919, in Monterey, Calif., to Amerigo and Virginia (Moore) Nonella and was raised and educated there.
She enlisted in the Army in 1944, serving in the 109th Women's Army Corps detachment.
She worked as a cook and caterer in Monterey for most of her life.
Her husband, Oscar, preceded her in death.
Surviving are a nephew, Ralph Nonella Jr. of Port Orchard; a niece, Robbin Trenary of Port Orchard; and a sister, Pauline Russell of Monterey.
Services will be private, under the direction of Rill Chapel at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home in Port Orchard.
