Michael Collins
Former Bremerton resident Michael David Collins, 37, died May 31, 1999, in Portland, Ore.
He was born July 29, 1961, in Bremerton to Cecil June and Carol Jean (Montgo-mery) Collins. He was raised and educated in Bremerton, graduating from Central Kitsap High School in 1979.
Mr. Collins worked as a cook for most of his life.
He belonged to the Chickasaw Indian tribe of Ada, Okla.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Clinton of Bremerton; a sister, Leslie McCartney of Hampton, Va.; and his grandfather, Doil Montgomery of Buhl, Idaho.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday with a reception following, both at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Cremation is under the direction of Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Wallace Wheeler
Kitsap County resident Wallace Neil Wheeler, 42, died May 26, 1999.
He was born April 29, 1957, in Bremerton. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School.
Mr. Wheeler served in the Army from 1976 to 1979. He later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1981 to 1991, and owned his own landscaping business.
Survivors include his father, Dale of Bremerton; a son, Chad of Bremerton; a brother, Ken of Bremerton; a sister, Barbara Claussen of Seabeck; and his former wife, Teresa Margeson of Bremerton.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Lutheran Church, 3200 Seabeck-Holly Road.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to an education fund for his son, Chad, Shared Care Services Inc., P.O. Box 146, Port Orchard, WA 98366.
Michael Sanders
Michael F. Sanders, 67, died May 14, 1999, in Bremerton.
He was born Jan. 8, 1932, in Wolfpoint, Mont., to John Floyd and Hilda Sanders.
He served a short time in the Naval Reserve and then in the Army with the military police in Japan and Korea, where he was wounded and received the Purple Heart. He then enlisted in the Air Force, serving in Germany, England and Vietnam as a photo interception specialist. He retired from the Air Force in 1972 as a staff sergeant.
Mr. Sanders then worked at Naval Hospital Bremerton for more than 10 years. His working career ended in distribution for The Sun newspaper.
Survivors include his wife, Gisela of Bremerton; a son, Craig of Milton-Freewater, Wash.; a daughter, Terry Vancil of Bremerton; an adopted son, Detlef of Austin, Texas; a stepson, Michael Unger of Germany; a brother, John of Port Orchard; a half-brother, Stan Goertz of Sequim; and a half-sister, Harriet Higdon of Port Orchard.
Services have been conducted.
Leah Severson
Bremerton resident Leah L. Severson, 77, died of cancer May 26, 1999, in Tacoma.
She was born May 15, 1922, in Sandpoint, Idaho, to Ben and Pearl Middleton. After graduating from Sandpoint High School, she lived in Spokane and Hawaii before moving to Bremerton in 1965.
On March 7, 1973, she married
Chris Severson.
Mrs. Severson owned and operated the Dugout Tavern in Bremerton, the Stables Tavern in Silverdale and the Woodshed Tavern in Belfair before retiring in 1983.
She was a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary Post 239.
In addition to her husband, survivors include a son, Robert Fountain of Port Orchard; a daughter, Carmon Samson of Roseville, Calif.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at VFW Post 239, 190 S. Dora, Bremerton.
Bryan Pursey
Bryan Wayne Pursey, 39, of Bremerton died May 30, 1999, at his home.
He was born Aug. 3, 1959, in Bremerton to Raymond and Marjorie (Essex) Pursey. He was raised and educated in Bremerton, attending Brownsville Elementary and Bremerton High School.
On Oct. 11, 1978, he married
Mitzi Butcher in Gig Harbor.
Mr. Pursey worked as a sheet metal installer and had owned and operated his own business.
Survivors include his wife; his father of Bremerton; his mother, Marjorie Shields of Shelton; a son, Brandon of Bremerton; a stepson, Mike Matheny of Federal Way; a brother, Greg of Shelton; and a sister, Theresa of Shelton.
Visitation will be from noon to 6 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday with a service immediately following, all at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Interment
will be at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Herbert Liebich
Herbert Erwin Liebich, 83, of Silverdale died of pneumonia May 30, 1999.
He was born June 28, 1915, in Erie, Pa., to Eric Liebich and Emma Hering. He was raised and educated in Rochester, N.Y., graduating from high school in 1929.
On Nov. 10, 1940, he married
Frances Marie McElwain in Honeoye Falls, N.Y. She preceded him in death in 1989.
Mr. Liebich served in the Army from 1943 to 1946. He was awarded the Asian-Pacific Service Medal, the Good Conduct Medal, the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal and the World War II Victory Medal.
He later worked as a tool and die maker for the Singer Corp. for 20 years, retiring in 1977.
He was a member of the American Pigeon Racing Association.
Survivors include a son, Herbert of Hendersonville, N.C.; a daughter, Linda Curley of Bremerton; and three grandchildren, Kelley Liebach and Bambi Toenshoff, both of Rochester, and Tamara Toenshoff of Puyallup.
No local services will be conducted. He will be buried in Rochester with his wife.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Florence Bolen
Florence L. Bolen, 75, died May 29, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 19, 1924, in Lincoln, Neb., to David and Elizabeth Spreier. She was raised in Lincoln, later graduating from Lincoln High School.
She began her working career as a division manager with Sears and Roebuck in Lincoln. While working at Elastic Stop Nut Corp., she met her future husband, Ralph Bolen. On May 10, 1945, they were married
in Kansas. After moving to Bremerton, she worked with the Boy Scouts of America for 15 years.
Mrs. Bolen was a member of the American Historical Society of Germans from Russia, the Lady Elks and the Peninsula Fuschia Society. She was a volunteer for the Democratic Party.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Gary of Bremerton; a daughter, Barbara Smith of Bremerton; two brothers, George of Omaha, Neb., and Jack of Lakewood, Calif.; a sister, Margret Mussleman of Omaha; and two grandchildren, Samantha Dirk and Jeffrey Smith.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, with a funeral service immediately following, both at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
James Doyle
James Francis Doyle, 42, of Bremerton died of complications from cancer May 31, 1999, at his home.
He was born April 16, 1957, in Oakland, Calif., to James F. and Eileen (Sand) Doyle. He moved with his family to Bremerton during his elementary school years and graduated from East High School in 1976. He completed the outside machinist apprenticeship program in 1984.
On May 12, 1979, he married
DeLana Cox.
He most recently worked at as the compressor regional repair supervisor in Shop 58, and prior to that as an outside machinist supervisor in Shop 38C at the Trident Refit Facility at Bangor. He left on a medical retirement in October 1998 after 19 years of civil service.
Mr. Doyle coached various Little League teams, the East Bremerton Pee Wees and the Bremerton Soccer Club.
In addition to his wife, survivors include his son, Jeffrey, and his daughter, Sarah, both of the family home; his mother, Eileen Doyle of Bremerton; a brother, Robert of Snohomish; and a sister, Barbara Doyle Yanda of Seattle.
His father preceded him in death in 1980.
A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Beverly Lee
Beverly Joan Lee, 65, of Bremerton died May 31, 1999, at her home.
She was born Feb. 13, 1934, in Laramie, Wyo., to Charles Adam and Jeanette Lucille (Kingman) Wetzel. She was raised in Wyoming, Pennsylvania and Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School in 1953.
On Nov. 6, 1981, she married
Thomas M. Lee in Bremerton
Mrs. Lee was a homemaker, dental assistant, Nordstrom salesperson and model, a demonstrator and a checker for Albertson's supermarkets.
She was a professional exotic bird fancier and breeder of cockatiels, Amazons and macaws. She also developed a line of Yorkies over a 20-year period and formulated a baby bird food.
She also worked as a designer, creating fabric, furnishings, decorations and women's accessories.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Jeanette Lucille Gee of Bremerton; two sons, Daniel and David, both of Bremerton; four daughters, Beth Prichard of St. Maries, Idaho, Renee Veldhuizen of Enumclaw, Rachelle Gibson of Tonasket, Wash., and Cathy of Chester, Pa.; a brother, Robert Reynolds of Canby, Ore.; two sisters, Lawan Morrison and Jana Reynolds, both of Bremerton; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, also at Miller-Woodlawn.
