Harry Zimmerman
Harry O. Zimmerman, 99, of Poulsbo died Aug. 16, 1999, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
He was born Jan. 16, 1900, in Bakersville, Ohio.
He worked for the Pennsylvania Railroad, then for Republic Steel. He was a house painter until his retirement in 1980.
He is survived by a daughter, Betty Peck of Poulsbo; a granddaughter, Debra Friedman of Kingston; a step-granddaughter, Sherry Danielson of Bainbridge Island; and three great-grandsons, Craig, Kyle and Christopher Friedman, all of Kingston. He was preceded in death by three wives and an infant daughter.
No services are planned. Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
Donald Hansen
Donald E. Hansen, 73, of Bremerton died Aug. 13, 1999, of a heart attack at his home.
He was born Jan. 30, 1926, in Rake, Iowa, to Enoch and Mabel (Halvorsen) Hansen. He grew up in Rake, graduating from Rake High School, from Milwaukee School of Engineering in Milwaukee and from Coyne Electrical School in Chicago.
He married
Joanne Goudie on Jan. 30, 1954, in Kodiak, Alaska. She preceded him in death on Sept. 21, 1978.
Mr. Hansen served one year in the Merchant Marines before joining the Army and becoming a paratrooper. He worked in civil service in Kodiak before coming to Bremerton.
He worked at the Naval Undersea Warfare Engineering Station in Keyport as an engineering technician for 22 years, retiring in 1983. His civil service career spanned 37 years.
Survivors include his companion, Ladora Korb of Bremerton; one son, Scott of Rapid City, S.D.; two daughters, Debbie Olsen and Diane Eddy, both of Port Orchard; one brother, Roger of Issaquah; five sisters, Ardys Corra and Dar Boni, both of Issaquah, Eleanor Hircko of Fall City, Dee Bakamus of Renton, and LaDonna Henninger of Oak Harbor; and seven grandchildren, Kim and Jessica Olsen, Joanne, Caitlin, and Logan Cooper, and Derek and Lindsey Hansen. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Loren, in 1991.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Charles Jensen
Charles Edward Jensen, 92, of Manchester died Aug. 14, 1999, in Port Orchard of natural causes.
He was born May 2, 1907, in Alder to Christen and Pauline (Wurmke) Jensen. He grew up in Alder, graduating from Eatonville High School in 1924, and from an apprenticeship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard in 1928.
He married
Evelyn Vosgien on April 9, 1938, in Everett.
Mr. Jensen worked 25 years for the National Biscuit Co. in Portland, Ore., retiring in 1972.
He was a life member of both the Mount Taber Masonic Lodge 42 in Portland, Ore., and the Order of Eastern Star Waverly Chapter 54 in Portland. He also was a member of the Washington State Button Society, the Seattle No. 1 Button Society, the Valley Button Club and the Kitsap Organ Society.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Douglas Jensen of Bonners Ferry, Idaho; two daughters, Barbara Winslow of Port Orchard and Nickie Clausing of Albany, Ore.; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Elaine Rockwell
Elaine S. Rockwell, 84, of Bainbridge Island died Aug. 7, 1999, on Bainbridge Island of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Dec. 23, 1914, in Rainier, Ore. She graduated from Wapato High School in Wapato in 1933, and from the University of Washington in Seattle.
She was a member of the Kitsap Weavers Guild.
Survivors include her husband, Noel Rockwell of Bainbridge Island; one son, Winston Rockwell; two brothers, Ray and Jay, both of Spitznogle, Ore.; one sister, Mae Broostrom of Oregon; and two grandchildren, Jeff and Lisa Rockwell, both of Seattle.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Aug. 26 at Seabold United Methodist Church on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Thelma Rogers
Thelma K. Rogers, 64, of Everett and formerly of Bremerton, died Aug. 16 in an Arlington nursing home.
She was born Sept. 1, 1934, in Port Orchard. She was educated in Kitsap County schools. She resided in Bremerton before moving to Everett in the 1980s.
Survivors include two sons, Thomas and Timothy Richardson, both of Everett; six grandchildren, Thomas Jr., Jason, John, Ryan, Jessica and Jenell; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sid.
At her request, there will be no formal services.
Betty Cameron
Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Cameron, 76, of Kirkland died Aug. 11, 1999, in Port Orchard of natural causes.
She was born Aug. 17, 1922, in Pittsburgh, Penn., to Joseph and Flora (Reed) DeRunk. She grew up in Pittsburgh, graduating from Peabody High School there.
She married
Donald R. Cameron on Jan. 29, 1948, in Pittsburgh. He preceded her in death in March 1995.
Mrs. Cameron was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Brian and Donald Cameron, both of Kirkland; two daughters, Joanne Campbell of San Jose, Calif., and Flora Freeman of Port Orchard; and nine grandchildren, David, Benjamin, Michael and Elizabeth Campbell, all of San Jose, Elena and Brian Cameron, both of Kirkland, Emily and Jessica Freeman, both of Port Orchard, and Michael Cameron of Pennsylvania.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Edna Hussey
Edna Margaret Hussey, 78, of Bremerton died Aug. 15, 1999, at Harrison Hospital of diabetes.
She was born Aug. 9, 1921, in St. Louis, Mo., to Henry and Elizabeth (Schroder) Tobias. She grew up in St. Louis, graduating from Beaumont High School there in 1940.
She served in the Navy during World War II from 1943 to 1945 in New York City. She served as part of the Women Accepted for Volunteer Emergency Service (WAVES).
She married
James G. Hussey on Sept. 29, 1945, in New York City. Mrs. Hussey was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; one son, James Hussey of Everett; three daughters, Marge Cox of Bremerton, Patricia Bostrom of Seabeck and Karen Wachter of Snohomish; one sister, Helen McCormick of Lampe, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Warren Cox and Jenny Peterson, both of Bremerton, Lynette Bedford of Lake Tahoe, Calif., Kristina Bostrom of Seabeck and Kelli, Bradley and Alex Wachter, all of Snohomish; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by five brothers, Henry, Hubert, Walter, Kurt and Karl Tobias, and by two sisters, Elsie and Elizabeth Tobias.
At her request, there will be no services.

Millie Hrynio
Millie L. Hrynio, 83, of Port Orchard died Aug. 17, 1999, at her home.
She was born Feb. 16, 1916, in Philadelphia to Frank and Anelie (Radauskas) Dunauskas. She grew up in Philadelphia.
She married
Michael Hrynio on Nov. 29, 1941, in Philadelphia. He preceded her in death earlier this year.
Mrs. Hrynio was a homemaker.
Survivors include one son, Michael Hrynio of New Hampshire; one daughter, Christina Hrynio of Port Orchard; and one brother, Edward Dunosky of Pennsylvania.
Private inurnment will take place in Philadelphia.

Marlene Parnell
Marlene M. Parnell, 64, of Manchester died Aug. 17, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Feb. 2, 1935, in Otis Orchard to Charles and Winifred (Crampton) Terrell. She moved to Manchester in 1940, graduating from South Kitsap High School in 1953.
She had been employed by South Kitsap High School in the attendance office for 10 years and at the Kitsap County Courthouse in various positions for another 10 years. She worked for the past 12 years with the building department of the city of Seattle as a permit technician, retiring this year.
Survivors include her mother and stepfather, Winifred and Earl Dagmie of Manchester; two sons, Alan Jensen of South Colby and Ron Jensen of Manchester; one daughter, Kim Nushart of Long Branch on the Key Peninsula; one brother, Robert Terrell of Manchester; one sister, Annette Evans of Gig Harbor; and four grandchildren, Desiree Sutton of Port Orchard, Jason and Alex Jensen, both of Manchester, and Laura Jensen of Southworth. Her father preceded her in death in 1979.
A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. Saturday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.

Samuel Adams II
Samuel Elbert Adams II, 40, of Bremerton died Aug. 15, 1999, at Regional Hospital in Seattle.
He was born Feb. 3, 1959, in Los Angeles to Samuel E. and Dorothy R. (Palmer) Adams I. He was raised in Los Angeles and in Lancaster, Calif., graduating from Antelope Valley High School in 1977.
He married
Jean M. Di Simone on Oct. 9, 1982, in North Hollywood, Calif.
Mr. Adams was developmentally disabled and volunteered and advocated for the mentally disabled wherever he could. He served on a statewide panel in Santa Barbara, Calif., advocating for the rights of other developmentally disabled people.
He was a volunteer with Harrison Hospital, delivering flowers and helping patients with their food. As a volunteer with Kitsap Mental Health Services, he interviewed potential case managers and served as editor of "Crossroads, " the KMH newsletter. For 17 years, he also was the caregiver for his developmentally disabled wife.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Dorothy Adams of Poulsbo; two brothers, George Adams of Bremerton and Tom Adams of Puyallup; and one sister, Brenda Elkins of Poulsbo. He was preceded in death by his father.
A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo.
