Reuben Brueckner
Reuben F.E. Brueckner, 76, of Bremerton died Aug. 2, 1999, at his home of emphysema.
He was born April 21, 1923, in Niagara, N.D., to Henry and Amedia (Strassburg) Brueckner. He grew up in Niagara.
He married
Frances Misemer on June 7, 1992, in Bremerton.
Mr. Brueckner served in the Army during World War II, from 1943 to 1945. He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 21 years, retiring in 1974.
He was a volunteer firefighter for the North Perry Fire District for 27 years.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Carma Foley of Seabeck; two brothers; four sisters; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee Funeral & Cremation Services of Bremerton.

Andy Houston
Leonard Andrew "Andy" Houston, 58, of Port Orchard died July 31, 1999, at Harrison Hospital of pneumonia.
He was born Nov. 22, 1940, in Seattle to Leonard Lee and Elizabeth (Whittaker) Houston. He grew up in Chehalis.
Mr. Houston had worked in production for Kitsap Applied Technology in Bremerton for the past 18 years. He was a member of First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include a sister, Beth Stremel of Bremerton.
A memorial service will be at 5 p.m. Aug. 10 at Manchester State Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Bob Tripp
Robert "Bob" McDowell Tripp, 87, a longtime resident and businessman in the Manchester and Port Orchard area, died July 31, 1999, at his home in Redmond.
He was born Dec. 25, 1911, in Everett to Clarence and Etta (Gilbert) Tripp. He grew up in Seattle, participating as a youth in the YMCA there.
He married
Enid Mildred George in Idaho in 1938. They later divorced and she preceded him in death in 1997.
He married
Marcella Williams on July 19, 1967, in Seattle.
Mr. Tripp served in the Merchant Marine and began his business career at Safeway in Seattle. Through the years he owned businesses in Manchester, Gig Harbor and Seattle. His later years were spent in Seattle, on Bainbridge Island and in Redmond.
He was an active member of the Kiwanis Club, Toastmasters and the Colby Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Marilyn Kyle of Gig Harbor; a son, Michael Newman Tripp of Portland, Ore.; a stepdaughter, Charlene Lee of Redmond; a stepson, Jack Williams of Redmond; two sisters, Clarice Blanchard of Port Orchard and Dorothy Hinton of Southern California; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Howard.
A private memorial service will take place today at Emerald Heights Retirement Community in Redmond.

Leona Burdick
Leona Marcella Burdick, 83, of Auburn died July 30, 1999, in Bremerton.
She was born Sept. 19, 1915, in Webb, Iowa, to Floyd Burdick and Mable Adella (Keck) Burdick. She graduated from high school in Arnold's Park, Iowa.
She worked as a housekeeper most of her life, retiring at age 70. Her most recent job was with Catholic Community Services.
Survivors include two brothers, Harold Burdick of Bremerton and Eugene Burdick of Albuquerque, N.M.; and a sister, Cleo Busch of Aitkin, Minn.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Friday at South Park Assembly of God in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
George Price
George Ormandy Price, 72, of Bremerton died July 31, 1999, in Bremerton.
He was born Feb. 4, 1927, in Bellingham to Walter and Ruby (Doran) Price. He grew up in Bellingham, graduating from Bellingham High School and from the University of Washington in 1951.
He married
Virginia Baker on June 29, 1947, in Port Angeles.
Mr. Price served in the Army during World War II, from 1945 to 1946.
He spent many years in the building trade and was a general contractor before founding G.O. Price Pest Control in Bremerton. He retired in 1989.
Mr. Price was a member of the Bremerton Yacht Club, a past president of the Homebuilders Association and a past president of the Washington State Pest Control Association.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Carol Napora of Port Orchard, Jana Price of California and Julie Sayers of Bremerton; a brother, Walter of Bellingham; two sisters, Dorothy Willis of Bellingham and DeLynda Satero of California; six grandchildren, Kendra Hunt of Redmond, Kerry Napora of Port Orchard, Jaymie Price of California, Dawn Sayers of New York, Amanda Sayers of Seattle and Ryan Sayers of Bremerton; and one great-grandchild.
A private memorial service will take place. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Ray Shinohara
Ray Tokuji Shinohara, 75, of Gig Harbor died July 29, 1999, at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center in Port Orchard of a stroke.
He was born July 10, 1924, in Seattle to Shigeo and Shizu (Kobukura) Shinohara. He grew up in Tacoma and in Puyallup, graduating from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane in 1943.
He married
Neva Maegean Richardson in October 1956, in Spokane. She preceded him in death in 1963.
Survivors include a son, Dan Hesseltine of Spokane; two daughters, Lois Sietman of Gig Harbor and Shirley DeFord of Port Orchard; a brother, Jay Shinohara of Novato, Calif.; a sister, Suzy Yamada of Spokane; a granddaughter, Teresa Ehrhardt of Bremerton; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lyla Darvell.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Thursday at the Church of Christ in Port Orchard. Inurnment will take place in Spokane on Aug. 11.

Alvin Hanson
Alvin Hanson, 87, of Bremerton died June 22, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born May 10, 1912, in Hamar, N.D., to Alfred and Mabel Hanson. He attended school in Hamar, attending military school in the summer during high school and graduating in 1933.
He also attended trade school for two years, studying electricity and radio technology. He also spent two years in the Civilian Conservation Corps during the Depression.
He married
Ruth Anderson on June 19, 1937, in Devils Lake, N.D. That same year, the couple moved to Wenatchee, where Mr. Hanson worked in the fruit industry and for Wells and Wade Sheet Metal Shop.
In 1941, they moved to Bremerton, where Mr. Hanson worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and for the Coca-Cola Co. In 1949, he went into partnership with Barney Thompson, forming the Kitsap Vending Machine Co.
The business was sold in 1969 to Interstate Vending Company of California. Mr. Hanson worked for that company in California until 1976, retiring to Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leonard of Bremerton and Roger of Belfair; two brothers, Arnold and Merle Hanson, both of Wenatchee; nine grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
A private service will take place at a later date.
Rhodo Collson
Rhodo Dendron Collson, 91, of Bremerton died July 31, 1999, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center in Bremerton.
She was born May 18, 1908, in Bremerton.
Mrs. Collson is survived by a daughter, Rhoberta Irwin of San Diego; a sister, Frances Brown of Bremerton; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
At Mrs. Collson's request, there will be no services. Tuell-McKee Funeral & Cremation Services of Bremertion is handling the arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army.
Anthony Pinckney
Anthony Jesse Pinckney, 47, of Port Orchard died of natural causes Sept. 20, 1999, at Madigan Army Medical Center in Tacoma.
He was born Oct. 13, 1951, in Charleston, S.C., to Jesse and Peggy Rose (Smith) Pinckney.
He grew up in Bronx, N.Y., graduating from Dewitt Clinton High School there in 1969. He attended Livingstone College and Warren-Wilson College, both in North Carolina.
Mr. Pinckney served in the Navy from 1972 until his retirement in 1992. His military honors include four Good Conduct awards, a Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, an Expert Pistol Shot Medal, an Expert Rifle Shot Medal, an Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, a Navy Expeditionary award, two National Defense Service Medals and a Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon.
Following his retirement, he worked in the emergency room at Naval Hospital Bremerton from 1992 to 1993, for the Washington State Corrections Center in Shelton from 1993 to 1994, and for Emerald Security in Tacoma from 1994 to 1995.
Mr. Pinckney was a member of Disabled American Veterans, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Fleet Reserve.
He married
Mary Gale Jones on Oct. 15, 1994.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Antonia Marie Zayas of Seattle; a brother, Donovan of Bronx; and a sister, Leslie Trotman of Parlin, N.J. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Sheila Marie (Blackwell) Pinckney, in 1983 and by his parents.
A graveside service and inurnment are planned for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Mount Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Veteran's Administration and Disabled American Veterans.
Kelli Noyes
Kelli K. Noyes, 40, of Silverdale died Sept. 28, 1999, at her home.
She was born Nov. 20, 1958, in Seattle to James and Diana (Worland) McPike. She was raised and educated in Yelm and in North Seattle.
She served in the Air Force for 20 years, retiring in 1997 as a master sergeant.
She married
Don R. Noyes Sr. on Feb. 25, 1994, in Lynnwood.
Survivors include her husband; her parents, now of Sedro-Woolley; a stepson, Don Jr. of Silverdale; a sister, Theresa McPike of Mill Creek; five brothers, Thomas McPike of Olympia, Jeff McPike and Kevin McPike, both of Sedro Woolley, and David McPike and Steven McPike, both of Burien; and a stepgrandson, Don Noyes III.
Private family services will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
