Gus Bjorlee
Gustav "Gus" Martin Bjorlee, 81, of Poulsbo died Sept. 13, 1999, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center in Bremerton.
He was born Jan. 29, 1918, in Central Valley to Olaf Chester and Thora (Fosberg) Bjorlee. He grew up in the Poulsbo-Central Valley area, graduating from Port Washington Union High School in Silverdale in 1936 and from Olympic College.
Mr. Bjorlee served in the Navy from 1936 to 1940. He was an electrician's mate third class stationed in San Diego and in the Caribbean.
He married
Minnie Replogle on Jan. 25, 1941, at Island Lake Lutheran Church in Central Valley.
He worked in Shop 06 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring as an electrical maintenance foreman in 1972. His PSNS career spanned 32 years.
Mr. Bjorlee was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers 574, Silverdale Lutheran Church, the Eagles, a life member and past president of Oslo 35 Sons of Norway Lodge and a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge in Manette.
Survivors include a daughter, Diane Gray of Bremerton; a brother, Chester of Silverdale; two grandchildren, David of Seattle and Jodi of Poulsbo; and two great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Silverdale Lutheran Church. Interment
will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
Memorial donations may be made to the Ed Gordon Memorial Fund in care of Oslo 35 Sons of Norway.
Esther Giedd
Esther Almeda Giedd, 81, of Albany, Ore., died Sept. 13, 1999, at Timberview Care Center.
She was born Nov. 10, 1917, in Turtle Lake, N.D., to Louis Earl and Mable Lena Kounts Renfrow. She attended Turtle Lake High School.
She moved to Oregon in 1945.
She married
Otto Giedd on Nov. 25, 1935, in Washburn, N.D. He preceded her in death on May 25, 1992.
She was a homemaker and had attended Linn Benton Community College. She was a member of the Church of God, serving as treasurer.
Survivors include a son, Ernest of Philomath, Ore.; three daughters, Marian Siddall and Theone Goldman, both of Albany, Ore., and Karen Samuels of Silverdale; a brother, Lou Renfrow of Tacoma; a sister, Ethel Sayler of Underwood, N.D.; nine grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Alison Kay; a brother, Marvin Renfrow; and two sisters, Margaret Bailiff and Mary Werre.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Fisher Funeral Home in Albany. A service is planned for 10 a.m. Thursday, also at Fisher Funeral Home. Private interment will take place at Waverly cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to Hill Street Church of God Building Fund or to a charity of the donor's choice in care of Fisher Funeral Home.
Inge Wilson
Inge W. Wilson, 81, of Olalla died of cancer Sept. 10, 1999, in Gig Harbor.
She was born Sept. 30, 1917, in Olalla to J. Victor and Katrina (Bloomquist) Carlson.
She was raised in Olalla and graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1935.
For 25 years, she was a secretary at Olalla Elementary School, retiring in 1978.
She was a member of the Olalla PTA and Homemakers.
She married
P.D. Wilson on Jan. 22, 1944, in Olalla. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include three daughters, Jan Felt of Seattle, Karen Bunch of Gig Harbor and Jerri Thomas of Olympia; a brother, Ernest Carlson of Olalla; six grandchildren, Jessica and Andrea Felt, both of Seattle, Sabrina Bouault and Jason Bunch, both of Gig Harbor, and Emily and Jeff Thomas, both of Olympia; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.

Fay Edwards
Fay Marie Rutherford Edwards, 78, a resident of the Hood Canal and Snohomish County areas for the past 18 years, died
Sept. 11, 1999, in Everett.
She was born in Seattle, graduating from Queen Anne High School. She attended the University of Washington and was an active member of Kappa Delta Alumni.
She also was an active member of the Orthopedic Guild in Seattle and
Belfair. She had been commanderette of the Elks Yacht Club from 1984 to 1985.
She owned and operated the Twanoh State Park concession from 1972 to 1989.
Her husband, Robert "Bob, " preceded her in death in 1989.
Survivors include two sons, William of Belfair and James of Lynnwood; a daughter, Laurie Ollestad-Adams of Kenmore; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle.
Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Disease Research Center of the University of Washington or to the Children's Orthopedic Hospital in Seattle.
Evelyn Markham
Evelyn Jo Markham, 57, of Port Orchard died Sept. 9, 1999, in Port Orchard.
She was born June 26, 1942, in Davenport to Frederick Harold and Edna Faye (Patterson) Cannon. She grew up in Yakima, graduating from West Valley High School there in 1959.
She worked as a bookkeeper and heat loss estimator for Hank's Sheet Metal in Port Orchard for one year. Previously, she had been a bartender at various locations in Port Orchard.
Survivors include her parents; a son, William Baker of Port Orchard; three daughters, Teri McCormack of Port Orchard, Rhonda Musolf of North Platte, Neb., and Mary New of Tacoma; five brothers, Robert Cannon of Portland, Ore., and Jack Cannon, Gregory Cannon, Terry Cannon, and Doug Cannon, all of Yakima; two sisters, Linda Burket and Valdine Schmitt, both of Yakima; 14 grandchildren, Jay Powers, April Powers, Robbie Baker, Tasha McCormack, Gregory Arnold and Makenzi Baker, all of Port Orchard, Rachel Redling and Wade Sparks, both of Tacoma, and Tiffany Musolf, Tasha Musolf, Michael Musolf, Matthew Musolf, Kelsey Leiser and Autumn Musolf, all of North Platte; and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Stevie Trenton Baker, in 1960, and by a grandson, Cory Michael Musolf, this year.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today and from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Wednesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Thursday at Bremerton Seventh-day Adventist Church.

Helen Watkins
Helen F. Watkins, 91, of Silverdale died Sept. 11, 1999, at Harrison Hospital of a stroke.
She was born June 28, 1908, in Boone Township, Palo Alto County, Iowa, to Axel and Mary Anne (Wagner) Eklund. She grew up in Salem, S.D.
She married
Robert Watkins on Jan. 2, 1973, in Seattle.
She is survived by her husband and a son, Jerald Koethe of Falls City.
A private memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at Country Meadows in Silverdale. Inurnment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
Robert Johnson
Robert Murray Johnson, 86, of Bremerton died of cancer Sept. 8, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 7, 1912, in Boise, Idaho, to J.C. "Jack" and Ellen (Nelson) Johnson. He lived in Boise until age 7, moving then to Seattle. He graduated from Broadway High School in Seattle in 1930.
He married
Faye Funderburg on Dec. 29, 1962, in Texarkana, Texas.
Mr. Johnson served in the Army from November 1942 until his retirement in August 1965. He was a sergeant first class, having served in World War II (North Africa, France and the United States), in the Korean War and in Japan and the United States after the Korean War.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 239 in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Tony of Seattle and Ken of Manassas, Va.; two daughters, Patricia Williams of Salem, Ohio, and Laurella Badia-Johnson of Carpinteria, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Cindy Mathisen of Bremerton, Jon, Mike and Andrew Scott, all of California, Conni Neustel of Salem, Ore., Troy and Kristi Johnson, both of Virginia, Kristin Tyson of Klamath Falls, Ore., and Aaron Harrison of Suquamish; and 15 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Burt, and by two sisters, Diane Garcia and Lucile Krumbein.
Private inurnment took place at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.
Jeanne-Marie Hague
Jeanne-Marie Hague, 69, of Port Orchard died Sept. 11, 1999, at her home.
She was born Aug. 12, 1930, in Seattle, where she grew up.
She married
David Hague on April 16, 1977, in Redmond.
Mrs. Hague was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; two stepdaughters, Stephanie Parker of Auburn and Deborah Bliss of Nampa, Idaho; four grandchildren, Jason Riepma, Hollie Tompkins, Rusty Parker and Adam Parker; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two stepsons, David and John Hague.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday, also at Rill Chapel. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
John Swett
John Oliver Swett, 80, of Gorst died Sept. 9, 1999, at Bremerton Convalescent & Rehabilitation Center.
He was born March 28, 1919, to Oliver and Bessie (Phelps) Swett in French Glen, Ore. He grew up there and in Burns, Ore., graduating from Burns High School in 1938.
He served in the Army Air Force from 1941 to 1945 and worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 24 years until his retirement.
Mr. Swett is survived by his wife, Laura (Surratt) Swett; one son, Perry, of Portland, Ore.; a daughter, Elaine Rodriguez of Everett; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Twin Firs cemetery in Belfair, with a memorial service at 7 p.m. at the Assembly of God Church in Belfair. Arrangements are being handled by Kass Funeral Home, Bainbridge Island.
