Archie Lowe
Archie E. Lowe, 80, of Shelton died July 26, 1998, at home.
He was born Dec. 16, 1917, in Seattle.
On Feb. 13, 1942, he married
Jeannette Clark Lowe in Port Orchard. She preceded him in death in 1989.
Mr. Lowe made his living as an operator/engineer for 30 years until his retirement in 1979.
Survivors include a son, Kenneth; a daughter, Vicky Donovan of Lacey; a brother, Floyd of Holly; and one grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of McComb Funeral Home, Shelton.

Larry Berg
Larry Allen Berg, 55, of Seabeck died July 18, 1998, at Naval Hospital, Bremerton.
He was born May 28, 1943, in Sandpoint, Idaho.
He attended the University of Idaho.
Mr. Berg served in both the Navy and the Coast Guard.
Survivors include his mother, Elsie Berg of Seabeck; and a brother, Carl "Bud" Berg of Seabeck.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. July 27 at Evergreen Lutheran Church in Seabeck.

Lee Mullen
Lee Mullen, 72, of Dewatto died July 21, 1998, in Adrian, Mo.
He was born Oct. 7, 1925. He attended Toppenish High School.
On Sept. 17, 1946, he married
Violet Rickenbaugh in Bremerton.
Mr. Mullen served in the Navy from 1942 to 1946. He spent 15 years as a county road supervisor in Humboldt County, Calif., until his retirement in 1989.
Survivors include his wife; six sons, Bill Beck of Orleans, Calif., Mike of Pendleton, Ore., Marvin of Twisp, Terry of Austin, Texas, Kevin of Shelton and Richard Warden of Puyallup; a brother, Carl of Modesto, Calif.; a sister, Pearl Boad of Belfair; 12 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. July 24 at Belfair Community Baptist Church, Belfair.
Arrangements are under the direction of McComb Funeral Home, Shelton.
Jane Russom
Jane M. (Samples) Russom, 74, of Hansville died July 20, 1998.
She was born Sept. 10, 1923, in Auburn. She graduated from high school in Cle Elum.
On Dec. 23, 1941, she married
Paul E. Russom in Seattle.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul, of Tacoma; three daughters, Sheri Sather of Seattle, Terri Sankey of Sea-Tac and Rebecca Jo Jones of Des Moines; a brother, Charles Samples of Marrowstone Island; eight grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
There will be no services. A memorial will be held at a later date.

Elsie Holland
Elsie Holland, 92, of Bremerton died July 19, 1998.
She was born March 14, 1906, in Springfield, Mo.
She received a bachelor's degree in education. In 1924, she started her career as an elementary teacher with the Kitsap County School District. She retired after 45 years of service in 1969.
Survivors include four sons, Lile of Bremerton, Michael of Port Orchard, Joe of San Antonio, Texas, and Sterling of Mansfield, Texas; a daughter, Geree George of Toledo, Ore.; 10 grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
There will be a private family graveside service at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Memorial services will be at noon July 30 at Port Orchard Church of Christ.

Fred Whitney
Fred Whitney, 83, of Tacoma died July 20, 1998, at Allenmore Hospital in Tacoma.
He was born Sept. 15, 1914, in Port Orchard. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1933.
On Aug. 21, 1937, he married
Alfil Peterson in Port Orchard. She preceded him in death in March of 1996.
After graduating high school, Mr. Whitney worked for the Alaska Steamship Company as a steward. He also worked for the State Highway Department, the Kitsap County Road Department and the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard sheet metal shop. From 1947 to 1949, he was co-owner of Annapolis Feed and Hardware.
He was also a real estate salesman for McDonald Realty in Gig Harbor. In 1951, he started with the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, retiring in 1973 as an assistant manager.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan of Port Orchard and Peggy Chandler of Fox Island; and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 23 at Rill Chapel. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. July 24 at First Christian Church in Port Orchard, with concluding services at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Carl Fein
Carl B. Fein, 48, of Port Orchard died June 27, 1998, at his home.
He was born Aug. 23, 1949, in Bremerton. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1968.
Mr. Fein served in the Army during Vietnam, from 1969 to 1971. He made his living as a heavy equipment operator in the logging industry from 1972 to 1981. He went on to work as a rigger at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1984 to 1991. From 1993 to 1996, he resumed his work in the logging industry.
Survivors include two brothers, Fred of Olalla and Steve of Tacoma; and a sister, Barbara Joyce of Arlington.
A graveside service will be conducted at 3 p.m. July 28 at Fraola cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Elizabeth Todd
Elizabeth Christine Juneau Todd died July 9, 1998, in Fayetteville, N.C., after an extended illness.
She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1973 and went on to join the Air Force. She retired as a sergeant in 1991.
Mrs. Todd made her living as a caregiver in nursing homes until ill health forced her to quit.
Survivors include her husband, Randall; two stepsons, Marcus and James Edward; two brothers, Howard Juneau and Michael Carleton; a foster brother, Robert Juneau; a sister, Rebecca Carleton; a daughter, Rebecca Evans; and her parents, Walter and Betty Juneau of Port Orchard.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. July 28 at the Colby Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Colby Church, the ALIVE Program or the Liz's fund at the Woodside Animal Hospital. The fund is for families that cannot afford treatment to save a child's pet.
Anna Johnson
Anna Bertha Johnson, 96, of Bremerton died July 18, 1998.
She was born Oct. 11, 1901, in Port Madison. She graduated from high school in Portland, Ore., in 1918.
In 1921, she married
Fredrick Johnson. Mr. Johnson preceded her in death in 1947.
Mrs. Johnson was a homemaker.
Survivors include a daughter, Betty Ballah of Bremerton; a son, Robert Johnson; eight grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 22 at Lewis Chapel.
Interment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery, Bremerton.

Franklin Briggs
Franklin William Briggs, 72, of Sequim died on July 17, 1998, in Seattle.
He was born Nov. 22, 1925, in Goodland, Kan. He was a high school graduate. Mr. Briggs served in the Navy during World War II.
In 1973, Mr. Briggs moved to Sequim and developed the Lazy Acres Mobile Home Park.
Survivors include his wife, Lela (Barber) Briggs; two sons, Randy of Silverdale and Carney of Grass Valley, Calif.; a daughter, Sherre Wackerly of Grass Valley, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 12 noon July 22, with funeral services following at 1 p.m. at Sequim Valley Chapel.
