Judy Stregles
Judy Ann Stregles, 54, of Poulsbo died Oct. 18, 1999, in Poulsbo.
She was born Sept. 24, 1945, in Blytheville, Ark., to Charles and Marion (Caldwell) Ridings. She grew up in Joplin, Mo., graduating from Joplin High School in 1963 and from St. Luke's Nursing College in 1980.
She worked as a licensed practical nurse at Messenger House Care Center on Bainbridge Island for four years, then worked three years for Madison Avenue Retirement Center on Bainbridge Island.
She was an advocate for those suffering from multiple sclerosis, educating and speaking in the community. She also was a member of Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo.
She married
H. Len Stregles on Aug. 20, 1982, in Overland Park, Kan.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Brad Courtney of Poulsbo; a daughter, Kathy Courtney of Poulsbo; her mother, Marion Ridings of Puyallup; a sister, Kathie Short of Puyallup; and two granddaughters, Allison and Erika Courtney, both of Poulsbo.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Thursday at Christ Memorial Church. Arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Dorothy LeBlanc
Dorothy LeBlanc, 83, of Belfair died Oct. 17, 1999, at Ridgemont Terrace Assisted Living in Port Orchard.
She was born April 13, 1916, in Worcester, Mass. She grew up in Worcester, graduating from Commis High School there.
After living in Washington and moving away many times, she settled in Belfair six years ago.
She had worked as a cashier and office manager.
Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Gilbert of Belfair; a son, James of Alabama; 11 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Leo, in 1966.
At her request, there will be no services.
Lyle Schager
Lyle Arthur Schager, 77, of Bainbridge Island died Oct. 16, 1999, on Bainbridge Island.
He was born Dec. 24, 1921, in Sisseton, S.D., to Arthur and Angeline (Conley) Schager. He grew up in South Dakota.
He married
Viola Schloe on Sept. 15, 1943, in Pasadena, Calif.
Mr. Schager served in the Army for one year in 1943.
He worked for Darigold in home delivery from 1958 until the late 1970s, then in wholesale delivery until his retirement in 1984, a total of 26 years.
Mr. Schager was a member of the American Legion and the Eagle Harbor Congregational Church on Bainbridge Island.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Donald of Simi Valley, Calif., Richard of Woodinville and Vernon of Bainbridge Island; four brothers, Kenneth of Poulsbo, Alvin of Buckley, Darrel of Chehalis and Merlin of Auburn; four sisters, Rosella Anderson of Puyallup, Lillian Fisher of Tacoma, Ruth Bible of Port Angeles and Esther Yost of Tacoma; and six grandchildren, Bryan and Darren, both of Simi Valley, Eric and Christopher, both of Woodinville, and Heather and Jordan, both of Bainbridge Island. He was preceded in death by a brother, Dean, of Des Moines, Iowa.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Eagle Harbor Congregational Church. Interment
will follow at Hillcrest cemetery. Arrangements are by Kass Funeral Home.

Donald Metzger III
Donald Francis Metzger III, 35, of Bremerton died Oct. 19, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Nov. 24, 1963, in Taipei, Taiwan, to Donald Francis Metzger Jr. and Joanne Mary Metzger. He graduated from high school in Port Hueneme, Calif., in 1981.
Mr. Metzger served in the Navy for nine years aboard the submarines USS Daniel Boone and USS Ohio.
He worked as a program analyst for Envisioneering at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
He married
Dywana Morris on April 26, 1998, in Seabeck.
Survivors include his wife; his parents, now of Port Hueneme; a son, Logan of Bremerton; and a brother, Joseph of Paradise, Calif.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to noon Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m.
Barbara Jasch
Barbara L. Jasch, 66, of Bremerton died Oct. 18, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Jan. 20, 1933, in Pine Ridge, S.D. She was raised and educated primarily in the San Francisco Bay area.
While living in Glen Ellen, Calif., she worked as a cook at the Sonoma State Hospital, retiring in 1998. She had lived in Bremerton for the past two months.
Survivors include a son, Greg Regalia of Suison City, Calif.; a daughter, Cynthia Moreno of Bremerton; a sister, Reba Scovel of Vallejo, Calif.; two brothers, Jimmy Pearman of Poplar Bluff, Mo., and Jay Pearman of Brookings, S.D.; six grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
Private services will be held. Inurnment will take place in South Dakota. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Clyde Perrine
Clyde Kenneth Perrine, 83, of Bremerton died Oct. 18, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 2, 1915, in Trumbull, Neb., to Avery Z. and Bessie M. (Radenbaugh) Perrine. He lived in Trumbull until 1929, when his family moved to Grand Island, Neb. He graduated from high school in Grand Island in 1933.
He married
Georgia A. Hehnke on Sept. 12, 1938, in Grand Island.
In 1939, he moved to Puyallup where he worked as a berry farmer. From 1940 to 1941, he was employed in floor installation for a company in Puyallup.
He moved to Bremerton in 1941, becoming a helper trainee at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He became a machinist instructor in 1952, and was the first PSNS employee to receive promotion to analyst/scheduler-machinist off the first exam register held for that position in 1956.
In 1957, he was promoted to leadingman (later called foreman). In 1966, he was promoted to quarterman (later designated general foreman one). Mr. Perrine retired from PSNS as a foreman in 1981, after 40 years.
In 1945, he joined Masonic Lodge 117, filling various offices from 1949 through 1955, when he served as master of the lodge. As a lodge member he earned a three-year certificate of proficiency in ritualistic work.
Mr. Perrine was a charter member of the Messiah Lutheran Church from 1945 to 1977. He transferred to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Bremerton where he became treasurer four weeks after joining, serving in that position four years. He also was involved in the church's cassette tape ministry.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry of Spokane and Robert of Tacoma; a daughter, Judith Olson of Golden, Colo.; and eight grandchildren, Jeanette of Olympia, Michelle of Spokane, John of Waterton, N.Y., Kenneth of Richland, and Katherine, Eric, Ivan and Anna, all of Golden; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Commital services are planned for 2:30 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park, followed by a memorial service at 3:30 p.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church.

Oliver Cook
Oliver Leslie Cook, 85, of Poulsbo died Oct. 17, 1999, at Liberty Shores Retirement Community in Poulsbo.
He was born Jan. 1, 1914, in Ionia County, Mich., to Robert and Eva (Smith) Cook. He was raised and educated in Montana.
Mr. Cook served in the Army from January 1942 to November 1945. He was a staff sergeant and light machine gunner in a unit that is known today as the Green Berets.
He was stationed in Central Europe, the Aleutian Islands, Naples Foggia, Rome Arno, Southern France and the Rhineland. He was one of the first people into the Buchenwald concentration camp, liberating it from the Germans.
His military honors include the Combat Infantryman Badge, the Silver Star Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Service Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Service Medal, the American Theater Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal.
He married
Katie Ruth Parks on May 14, 1948, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She preceded him in death in 1998.
In 1949, Mr. Cook began working for a brick company in Renton. He was employed there several years before starting his own heavy equipment and septic system company in the Auburn/Kent area.
After a serious injury, he gave up his business, becoming a custodian for the Renton School District in 1960. When he retired in 1977, he was the grounds superintendent for the Renton School District.
He was a life member of the Rainier Masonic Lodge and a 32-degree Scottish Rite.
Survivors include a son, Jesse of Poulsbo; a daughter, Glenda Cunningham of Arkansas; and two grandchildren, Bonnie Olson of Poulsbo and Tammy Newcum of Arkansas; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Leslie Cunningham, two brothers, Harry Russell and Richard, and two sisters, Julia and Reva.
A memorial service will be held at a later date at Liberty Shores Retirement Community. Arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
John Antonia Sr.
John J. Antonia Sr., 76, of Bremerton died Oct. 17, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Feb. 22, 1923, in Boston, Mass., to Joseph and Sophia Antonia.
Mr. Antonia served in the Navy during World War II. He was gunner's mate third class serving on the USS Great Sitkin.
He worked as a painter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 20 years, retiring in 1983.
He and his wife, Katherine, were married
on July 4, 1996, at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, John Jr. of Whidbey Island, Douglas of Sacramento, Calif., and Paul of Montana; two brothers, Ed and Frank, both of Massachusetts; a stepdaughter, Mary Ann Spires of Belfair; and several grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Woznak and Nancy Adamski.
Scott Wonderly
Scott A. Wonderly, 44, of Bremerton died Oct. 16, 1999, at his home.
He was born May 11, 1955, in Tacoma to John B. "Jack" and Betty (Hardy) Wonderly. He grew up in Bremerton, graduating from East High School in 1973. He attended Olympic College and Washington State University.
He worked for brief periods of time at Harrison Hospital, Art Anderson Associates and more recently at Manette Community Church.
He was a longtime member of Manette Community Church.
Survivors include his parents, now of Bremerton, and two brothers, Kirk of Bremerton and John of Cable, Wis.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Manette Community Church. Arrangements are by Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
