Al Kuresman
Albert "Al" Kuresman, 79, of Port Orchard died Nov. 9, 1999, at Ridgemont Terrace.
He was born Dec. 17, 1919, in Cincinnati, Ohio, to Samuel and Janette (Marade) Kuresman. He grew up in Cincinnati, graduating from Western Hills High School there.
Mr. Kuresman served in the Navy from 1942 to 1945 aboard several submarines.
He was a machinist at Continental Can Co. in Seattle for 31 years, retiring in 1978.
He married
Pat O'Dea on Sept. 14, 1946, in San Francisco.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Alan and Jim, both of Seattle, Michael of Silverdale and Steve of Ravensdale, Wash.; a brother, Benjamin of Cincinnati; and five grandchildren, David of Maple Valley, Kim of Kirkland, Julie West of Auburn and Dan and Ryan, both of Silverdale.
A reception and gathering are planned for 11 a.m. Friday in the hospitality room at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.

Essie Jackson
Essie Beatrice Jackson, 86, of Bremerton died Nov. 8, 1999, at her home.
She was born May 25, 1913, in Indianola, Miss.
She was a chef.
Survivors include a son, Fred Robinson of Bremerton; two daughters, Thalis Joiner and Colynthia Reed, both of Gary, Ind.; six grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Burial will take place at Twin Firs cemetery in Belfair. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee Funeral and Cremation Services of Bremerton.

David Osborn
David Albert Osborn, 87, of Silverdale died Nov. 5, 1999, in Silverdale.
He was born Sept. 4, 1912, in Westerville, Ohio, to Helen B. McLeod. He attended Santa Monica High School in Santa Monica, Calif.
He married
Agnes Elizabeth Reynolds on Aug. 6, 1939, in Santa Monica. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Osborn served as a private first class in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945.
He worked for Southern Counties Gas Co. in California, retiring in 1963 due to multiple sclerosis.
Survivors include two daughters, Allene Fishman of England and Aleta Saloutos of Bainbridge Island; and five grandchildren, Meredith and Paul Fishman and Alexis, Teddy and Tina Saloutos. He also was preceded in death by his siblings.
A celebration of his life is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at The Barn at Country Meadows in Silverdale. His ashes will be scattered at sea by his children.
'Doc' Suskie
Joseph "Doc" W. Suskie, 77, of Bremerton died Nov. 3, 1999, at his home of natural causes.
He was born Aug. 18, 1922, in Portage, Pa., to John L. and Beatrice (Zimmerman) Suskie. He was vice president of his high school class in Couer d'Alene, Idaho.
Mr. Suskie served in the Navy from 1943 to 1967. He was a corpsman in World War II, Korea and Vietnam, with three tours of duty at Naval Hospital Bremerton.
He was a building captain at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil, retiring in 1987.
Mr. Suskie was a member of the Fleet Reserve, the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion.
He is survived by his sister, Constance Marie Kinanhan of Oakland, Calif. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Clare and John, and by a sister, Margaret Russell.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton, with a graveside service following at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Chuck Semancik
A memorial service for former Bremerton resident and football coach Chuck Semancik is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. John Bosco Catholic Church, 10508 112th St. SW, Lakewood.
A short luncheon reception will be held at the church with a graveside service to follow at Cavalry cemetery in Tacoma.
Semancik, who coached 38 years at either West High or Bremerton High, was born July 31, 19915, in Wilkeson to John and Mary Semancik. He died Monday from congestive heart failure in Tacoma.
Semancik is survived by his wife, Theresa Semancik of Tacoma; two daughters, Joyce Stensen and Judy Hendrichs, both of Seattle, and two granddaughters, Heidi and Wendy Stensen. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene, who passed away in 1979, and his parents, four sisters and two brothers.

Orland Myers
Orland Leo Myers, 85, of Poulsbo died Nov. 8, 1999, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
He was born June 26, 1914, in Jewell County, Kan., to Ray and Minnie (Rhoads) Myers. He grew up in Kansas and traveled doing farm work.
He married
Edna Thackeray on June 17, 1939, in Tacoma.
When Mr. Myers was first married
, he was employed at the paper mill in Longview. He later worked as a custodian for the Franklin Pierce School District in Tacoma, retiring in 1979.
He and his wife moved to Poulsbo in 1984, becoming caretakers for the Stone Chapel.
Survivors include his wife; a son, James of Seattle; a daughter, Carolyn Dexter of Bremerton; two sisters, Carol Rhutasle of Mesa, Ariz., and Joy E. Maynard of Grass Valley, Calif.; a grandson, Erik Dexter of Tillamook, Ore.; and two great-granddaughters.
A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with private entombment following at Hillcrest Mausoleum in Forest Lawn cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.

Jeanie Crimmins
Jeanie Ray Crimmins, 41, of Bremerton died Nov. 5, 1999, at her home.
She was born July 8, 1958, in Eureka, Mont., to Donald and Betty (Tolison) Cameron. She grew up in Montana and in Spokane.
She married
William Crimmins on Sept. 28, 1974, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Mrs. Crimmins was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Scot of Gig Harbor, Donald of Silverdale and Michael and James, both of Bremerton; her mother, now of Spokane; her father; three brothers, Wayne Booth of Bremerton, Jay Cameron of Montana and John Cameron of Spokane; three sisters, Jerry Blair of Tennessee and Joie Bheil and Jackie Kindsey, both of Spokane.
A memorial service is planned for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the West Side Improvement Club in Bremerton. Cremation is under the direction of Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo, with arrangements by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Anabel de los Reyes
Anabel de los Reyes, 53, of Bremerton died Nov. 10, 1999, at Harrison Hospital after battling cancer for four years.
She was born Sept. 22, 1946, in Nabas, Aklan, Philippines. She attended high school and Arellano University in Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. She earned a bachelor's degree in commerce, majoring in banking and finance.
She retired after 20 years of civil service with the Philippine Government Service Insurance System. She was a section chief.
She moved to Bremerton in 1995, becoming an active member of Sylvan Way Baptist Church.
Survivors include her mother, Rosario de los Reyes; two brothers, Omer of the Philippines and Rudyard of Vallejo, Calif.; and two sisters, Tess Gamboa of Silverdale and Lelet of Bremerton.
Visitation is planned for 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday prior to a graveside service at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park. A memorial service will follow at 1 p.m. at Sylvan Way Baptist Church.

Phyllis Morgan
Phyllis J. Morgan, 70, a resident of Port Orchard for 35 years, died Nov. 9, 1999, at St. Joseph's Hospital in Tacoma.
She was born Aug. 8, 1929, in Deep Valley, Pa.
She was dietary manager at a nursing home and attended First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Rath of Belfair and Karen Boe of Port Orchard; two brothers, Harold Riggs of Pennsylvania and Robert Riggs of Florida; four sisters, Lois Barker and Marlene Kaske, both of Washington, Donna Moore of Florida and Catherine Staggers of Pennsylvania; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, in 1982, and by a sister and two brothers.
A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Haven of Rest Chapel, Highway 16, in Gig Harbor. Interment
will take place at Haven of Rest Memorial Park.
