Bruce Walton
Bruce I. Walton, 45, of Belfair died Dec. 10, 1999, at his home.
He was born Dec. 5, 1954, in Bremerton, to William and Kathryn "Kay" (Shelton) Walton. He grew up in Bremerton, graduating from Central Kitsap High School in 1973, and from Olympic College where he played baseball.
Mr. Walton was a carpenter. He owned and operated a construction company.
He had been a member of Carpenter's Union 1597 for 25 years. He had also coached South Kitsap Little League baseball for five years.
Survivors include his mother; one son, Dean of Port Orchard; one daughter, Haley of Port Orchard; one brother, Steve of Bremerton; and one sister, Karen Dickerson of Belfair. He was preceded in death by his father in 1991, and by his grandparents.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
James Summarell Sr.
James William Summarell Sr., 89, of Poulsbo died Dec. 13, 1999, at Martha and Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
He was born Nov. 18, 1910, in Vernal, Utah, to Samuel and Cora (O'Neil) Summarell. He was raised and educated in Uintah Basin, Utah, attending schools there.
He married
Verlillian "Lil" Boren in Ogden, Utah, on Oct. 21, 1929. They had celebrated 64 years of marriage when she preceded him in death on April 19, 1994.
Mr. Summarell came to Bremerton during World War II. Following the war, he attended college and received a teaching degree.
He had worked as an auto mechanic for Lent's during the war, and afterward, as a mechanic for Crawford Motors. He instituted the auto shop program at Bremerton High School, where he worked until his retirement in the 1970s. He later received a degree in physical therapy.
Mr. Summarell was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was the first bishop for the church in Poulsbo. He and his wife raised many foster children.
Survivors include two sons, James III of Salt Lake City and Ted of Suquamish; two daughters, Della McGuire and Carol, both of Poulsbo; one brother, Ray of Vernal; 18 grandchildren; 53 great-grandchildren; and 20 great-great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by two sons, Robert and James "Bill."
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Poulsbo, followed by the dedication of the grave at Mountain View cemetery in Silverdale.

Ramona Blevins
Ramona Hope Blevins, 59, of Bremerton died Dec. 12, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Oct. 22, 1940, in Wenatchee, to Edward and Evelyn (Higgins) Smith. She was raised in Wenatchee and Spokane, attending high school in Spokane.
She married
Gene Higgins on June 28, 1958, in Snohomish.
A homemaker, she had worked as a doctor's assistant in Spokane for many years. After moving to Bremerton, she was employed as an ophthalmologist's assistant for 10 years.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Bremerton First Ward.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Derek of Snohomish and Jason of Port Orchard; two daughters, Nancy LeMay of Kingston and Hope Clark of Oak Harbor; three brothers, Mert and Walt Smith, both of Arizona, and Daniel Smith, of Chicago; three sisters, Ruth Larsen of Spokane and Lenora Menzel and Sharon Hall, both of Deer Park; and seven grandchildren, Buds, Hope, Rico and Tonya LeMay, all of Kingston, Dawn and Dylan Blevins, both of Snohomish, and Maddie Clark of Oak Harbor. She was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel, with burial at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.

James Barrieau Jr.
James Barrieau Jr. 43, of Kingston died Dec. 13, 1999, at his home.
He was born Aug. 2, 1956, in Bremerton. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1975.
Mr. Barrieau had worked briefly at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a painter's helper and then as a volunteer for many years at Poulsbo Elementary School.
He was known as "Mr. Jim" at Poulsbo Elementary School. He had been named United States National Volunteer of the Year in 1992.
Survivors include his mother, Claudia Barrieau of Poulsbo; two sons, John of Kingston and Bill of Mukilteo; two sisters, Kimberly Wright of Port Ludlow and Vicki Free of Poulsbo.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. Interment
will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton.

Patrick Reid
Patrick K. Reid, 79, of Port Orchard died Dec. 10, 1999, at her home.
She was born April 13, 1920, in Hanover, Ind., to Clifford and Anna (Walker) Kelley. She grew up in Indiana, graduating from Caldwell High School in Caldwell, Idaho, in 1937.
She married
Thomas "T.J." Reid Jr. on Nov. 2, 1942, in Hailey, Idaho. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Mrs. Reid was a homemaker. She had worked as a postmistress in Ketchum, Idaho, before raising six children.
She later ran a coffee shop in the Sun West Bank in Roswell, N.M., where she lived for 20 years.
Mrs. Reid was a member of Midway Assembly of God in Roswell.
Survivors include four sons, Tom of Salmon, Idaho, Rod of Battle Ground, Randy of Denver and John of Belgrade, Mont.; two daughters, Ann Hamill of Port Orchard and Sue Zumwalt of Sappho; 18 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a grandson, Tommy Reid, in 1979.
A family gathering is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Marion Shipley
Marion Gladys Shipley, 75, of Bremerton died Dec. 9, 1999, at her home. She had been a resident of Kitsap County for the past 33 years.
She was born Dec. 14, 1923, in Seattle to Cecil and Gladys (Pearn) Judy. She was raised and educated in Seattle, graduating from Franklin High School in 1941.
She married
Billy Shipley on June 7, 1947, in Seattle.
Mrs. Shipley had been a homemaker throughout her married
life.
She was active in the Parkway United Presbyterian Church in Tacoma.
Survivors include her husband; one son, William of Springfield, Ore.; four daughters, Linda Harrison and Judy Hauenstein, both of Tacoma, Melinda of Springfield and Robin Halpin of Kent; one brother, William Judy of Gig Harbor; one sister, Frances Tompkins of Marysville; 12 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Parkway United Presbyterian Church. Cremation is by Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Norma Swinsinski
Norma Marie Swinsinski, 77, of Port Orchard died
Dec. 11, 1999, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born Nov. 30, 1922, in Stubinville, Ohio, to Antonio and Julia (Geonetti) Leone. She grew up in Stubinville, moving to Fontana, Calif., in 1950, where she lived for 40 years.
She married
Pete Swinsinski in Stubinville. He preceded her in death in 1966.
Mrs. Swinsinski worked as a teacher's aide with the Fontana Unified School District for 20 years, retiring in 1995.
She was a member of Burley Bible Church.
Survivors include one son, Pete of Port Orchard; one daughter, Diane Boike of Port Orchard; one brother, Paul Leone of Highland, Calif.; one sister, Julie Boucher of Highland; and seven grandchildren, Danielle Cotter of Massachusetts, Michelle Culley and Randy Vineyard, both of Lake Havasu, Ariz., Tara Mitchell of Seattle, and Anthony, Aaron and Ashley Swinsinski, all of Port Orchard; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Anthony.
A memorial service is planned for 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Burley Bible Church. Interment
will take place at Fraola cemetery in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Marchelle Tabtab
Marchelle Mae Tabtab, 10, of Port Orchard died Dec. 13, 1999, at her home after a long struggle with cancer.
She was born Aug. 26, 1989, in Tacoma to Amando and Tamura (Bryan) Tabtab. She was raised in Port Orchard, attending Manchester Elementary School.
Survivors include her parents; two brothers, Nathan and Anthony, both of Port Orchard; one sister, Shandra of Port Orchard; her paternal grandmother, Helen Smith of Port Orchard, and her maternal grandparents, Roger and Pat Farmer of Goldendale and John and Marilu Bryan of Gig Harbor. She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Amando Tabtab Sr. in 1987.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until her funeral service at 1 p.m. Saturday, all at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard following the chapel service.

MaeBelle Fitzpatrick
MaeBelle E. Fitzpatrick, 91, of Port Orchard died Dec. 9, 1999, at her home.
She was born Nov. 19, 1908, in Daggett, Mich., to Eric and Selma (Bergstrom) Carlson. She graduated from Kingsford High School in Iron Mountain, Mich., in 1926, and from Upper Peninsula School of Nursing in Marquette, Mich., in 1952.
She married
William Ross Fitzpatrick on Feb. 18, 1928, in Toledo, Ohio. He preceded her in death in 1988.
She was a licensed practical nurse, having worked at Tacoma General Hospital for 12 years. She retired in the 1960s.
Mrs. Fitzpatrick was a member of Burley-Glenwood Baptist Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include one son, William of Balibago, Philippines; two daughters, Marilyn Hofferber of Lakewood and Gail Allison of Port Orchard; one brother, Walter Carlson of Howell, Mich.; and nine grandchildren, Robert and Patrick Eakes, Michael Allison, and Ross, Mollie, Melinda, Melonie, Judyann and Diana Fitzpatrick; and four great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Eakes.
Visitation is scheduled for 10 to 11 a.m. today at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
