Karla Whetham
Karla Rae Whetham, 35, of Silverdale died Dec. 3, 1999, at her family home in Auburn. She had lived in Silverdale from 1985 until February of this year.
She was born Dec. 7, 1963, in Auburn, graduating from Auburn High School in 1982.
She worked for The Communitas Group from 1988 until February of this year.
Survivors include her parents, Peter and Charlene Whetham of Auburn; one brother, Peter of Auburn; and one sister, Susie of Okanogan.
A memorial service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Holy Family Catholic Church on 17th Street in Auburn. A potluck luncheon will follow.

Jesse Hurley
Jesse Newton Hurley Jr., 71, of Bremerton died Dec. 2, 1999, at Madigan Army Medical Center.
He was born Sept. 11, 1928, in Mansfield, Ohio, to Jesse N. Hurley Sr. and Minnie (Phaff) Hurley. He was raised and educated in Ohio.
Mr. Hurley married
Regina Anne Perwin on Dec. 17, 1956, in Waukegan, Ill.
He joined the Navy in 1946 and retired in 1970 as a senior chief missile technician. Mr. Hurley was stationed aboard USS Roosevelt, USS Pocono,
USS Sarda, the submarines Abraham Lincoln and Benjamin Franklin, and USS Kamahameha. He had served as Chief of the Boat.
Following his retirement from the Navy, he worked as a missile technician for Lockheed Corp.
He is survived by his wife.
Visitation will start at 9 a.m. Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m.
Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo.

Eva Hayes
Eva Hazel Hayes, 89, of Poulsbo died Dec. 3, 1999, in Poulsbo.
She was born Oct. 29, 1910, in Aspermont, Texas, to James E. and Lula M. (Taylor) McLaughlin.
She married
George Hayes on April 18, 1935.
Mrs. Hayes was a hairdresser in her early years, and spent most of her life in Ontario, Calif. She moved to Bremerton in 1996.
She was a member of the United Methodist Church and the Christian Women's Group in Ontario, Calif.
Mrs. Hayes is survived by a son, Jerry Hayes of Hansville; a brother, Delbert McLaughlin of Arroyo, Calif.; two grandchildren, Jeffery and Jennifer Hayes; two step-grandchildren, Shelley Michalk and Steven Phillips; and five step-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, three sisters and one brother.
An inurnment service will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the West End Chapel of Bellevue Mausoleum at Bellevue Memorial Park in Ontario, Calif. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Hazzie Eagle Jr.
Former Bremerton resident Hazzie B. Eagle Jr., 75, of Las Vegas died Nov. 12, 1999, in Las Vegas of a heart attack.
He was born Aug. 27, 1924, in Rock Springs, Wyo., to Hazzie B. and Susie M. (Wright) Eagle Sr. He grew up in Shelton, graduating from Irene S. Reed High School in 1943.
Mr. Eagle served in the Army, with duty in the Pacific Theater during World War II. He received several medals, including a Silver Star with oak leaf cluster and a Purple Heart.
After the war, he worked in the ordnance depot in Tacoma. Later, he was employed by the federal government in Morocco, where he met and married
his wife, Simone.
Mr. Eagle returned to the Northwest, working at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He retired as a supply center supervisor.
He was a Mason and a member of the Bremerton Yacht Club.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul and John, both of Las Vegas; three brothers, Don of Santa Rosa, Calif., Wentz of Shelton and Gerald of Bremerton; and two sisters, Bonnie Tibbits and Anita Nault, both of Shelton.
He was preceded in death by three sisters, Norma Wilder and Donna Doucette, both of Bremerton, and Phyllis Spratt of Diamond Bar, Calif.
A graveside service was held Nov. 18 at Southern Nevada Veterans cemetery in Boulder City, Nev. Arrangements were under the direction of Bunker's Funeral Home in Las Vegas.
Jack Gremillion
John F. "Jack" Gremillion, 50, of Bremerton died Nov. 27, 1999, at his home.
He was born June 18, 1949, in Bremerton, to James and Freda Gremillion. He grew up in Bremerton, attending West High School.
Mr. Gremillion had been employed by Ace Paving Company for 17 years.
Survivors include his mother and stepfather, Freda and Rex Hope of Gorst; one son, Jason of Michigan; one daughter, Tonya of Michigan; three brothers, Michael and Ron, both of Bremerton, and Rueben of Port Orchard; three stepbrothers, Richard of Walla Walla, Rex Jr. of Bremerton and Mike of Brinnon; two stepsisters, Gloria of Walla Walla and Sylvia of Bremerton; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his father, his grandparents and by a brother, James.
A memorial service is planned at noon Dec. 12 at the Fleet Reserve Association on National Avenue in Bremerton.
Bryson Ryans
Bryson Paul Kalani Ryans, 25, of Bremerton died Dec. 1, 1999, in Seattle.
He was born Dec. 1, 1974, in Hilo, Hawaii, to Yvonne (Morris) Lima and Raymond Ryans III. He grew up in Hilo, graduating from Roosevelt High School in Honolulu in 1992.
Mr. Ryans had worked as a drywall installer.
Survivors include his mother now of Honolulu; one daughter, Bryka of Bremerton; one brother, Brandon of Bremerton; two sisters, Raychele of Atlanta, Ga. and Raylene Delgado of Honolulu.
He was preceded in death by his father in 1981.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. No services are planned.
Martha Tachell
Martha Hardy Tachell, 81, of Silverdale died Nov. 29, 1999, in Bremerton.
She was born May 15, 1918, in Bellingham, to Lou and Anne Hardy. She grew up in Bellingham.
Survivors include one stepdaughter, Carol Jackson of Yuma, Ariz.; one brother, Arthur Hardy of Seattle; and two grandchildren, Cynthia Ely of Bremerton and Catherine Slater of Chimacum. She was preceded in death by her husband, Grover, and by a son, Ronald.
At her request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Donald McKeithan
Donald L. McKeithan, 39, of Bremerton died Nov. 30, 1999, in Bremerton.
He was born Oct. 15, 1960, in Roseburg, Ore., to Mac and Justine L. (Olson) McKeithan. He grew up in Bremerton, graduating from West Bremerton High School.
Mr. McKeithan worked locally as a mechanic and in auto body repair. He also drove his own race car, as well as those of other owners.
Survivors include his father, Mac of Bremerton; his mother and stepfather, Justine and Jim Mays of Bremerton; and a brother, JR of Port Orchard. He was preceded in death by a brother, Rodney, in 1979.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Richard Marcoullier
Richard Elliott Marcoullier, 61, of Suquamish died Dec. 1, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born May 9, 1938, in Westfield, Mass., to Elliott J. and Florence (Harran) Marcoullier. He grew up in Massachusetts and in Pennsylvania, attending Norwich Military Academy in Vermont, Drexel University in Philadelphia and graduating from California State University-Long Beach with a degree in engineering.
Mr. Marcoullier had been employed as an engineer for the Department of Water and Power in Los Angeles and later with the Engineers and Architects Association also in Los Angeles. He worked for both of these companies for many years.
He married
Judith Mashke on Feb. 16, 1985, in Newport Beach, Calif.
The couple had a home in Suquamish for several years and were in the process of moving there permanently from Los Angeles.
Mr. Marcoullier volunteered with Habitat for Humanity.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Todd of North Carolina; two daughters, Karen Coopman of San Francisco and Stacie Coopman of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Ann Yule of Long Beach, Calif., and Fritzi Trimble of West Lake, Calif.; and a grandson, Kailan Claiborne of San Francisco.
Visitation is scheduled for 3 to 6 p.m. Friday at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday also at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove. A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Riverview cemetery in St. Joseph, Mich.

Zella Brummett
Zella Louise Brummett, 81, of Silverdale died Dec. 1, 1999, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Feb. 13, 1918, in Yakima to Ray and Nellie (Ramirez) Gorman. She graduated from Yakima High School.
Mrs. Brummett worked as a grocery checker at a cooperative grocery store in Silverdale for 15 years.
Survivors include a daughter, Sharon Hayward of Shelton; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel, with cremation at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
