Zoe Schultz
Zoe Eloise Schultz, 82, of Port Orchard died Dec. 28, 1999, in Bremerton of congestive heart failure.
She was born July 18, 1917, in Ritzville to Lyman and Ethel (Blackwood) Haight. She grew up in Ritzville, graduating from Ritzville High School in 1933, and attending business college in Spokane.
She married
Harry Schultz in Pasco in 1941. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She worked at Orchard Heights Elementary School in Port Orchard for 15 years, retiring in 1984. She had been the secretary for Port Orchard Methodist Church, as well as serving on the church's building committee.
Survivors include three sons, Thom, Tim and Bill, all of Seattle; one daughter, Kathy of Shelton; one brother, Ed Haight of Moses Lake; nine grandchildren, all of Washington; and four great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Michael, in 1997 and by three sisters.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Port Orchard Methodist Church. Her ashes will be scattered over Sinclair Inlet. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Carolyn Patton
Carolyn L. Patton, 66, of Port Orchard, died Dec. 23, 2000, in Tacoma, following an illness.
She was born Aug. 17, 1943, in Elizabeth, Penn., to Knox and Elenore Patton.
She owned and operated a housekeeping service, Bucket Brigade, for approximately 15 years, retiring in the early '90s. She also worked for The Sun circulation department for more than 20 years, retiring in 1999.
She was a member of Gig Harbor Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Bill and David Dumbaugh; four daughters, Dianna Fox, Robin Harrison, Nori Besaw and Leanne Little; 15 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Knox Robert Patton Jr.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at Parkwood Community Hall in Port Orchard.
Mabelle Anne Kaeser
Mabelle Anne Kaeser, 91, of Tracyton, died Dec. 28, 2000, in Tacoma from complications of pneumonia.
She was born Nov. 6, 1909, in Napavine, to William and Lucinda Hawkins. She graduated from Napavine High School in 1928.
She married
Frank W. Kaeser in 1941, in Tacoma. He preceded her in death in 1993.
Mrs. Kaeser had worked as a store clerk and payroll chief.
She is survived by a son, Ernie Nelson of Tacoma; a daughter, Donna Card of Tacoma; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Mountain View Funeral Home in Tacoma.

Donald Barra
Donald R. Barra, 86, of Port Orchard, died Dec. 28, 2000, at his home of leukemia.
He was born Sept. 20, 1914, in Sonora, Calif., to John and Margareta (Bronsone) Barra. He graduated from Buckley High School in Buckley in 1934, and from Central Washington State College in Ellensburg in 1940. He attended the University of Washington.
He married
Pauline Martin on June 1, 1941, in Buena.
Mr. Barra had been a teacher and principal, working throughout the state of Washington for 37 years. He retired in 1976.
He enjoyed golf and traveling. He was a member of Elim Lutheran Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Judy Fleming of Maggie Valley, N.C., and Joyce Peters of Lakewood; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. today and from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Elim Lutheran Church, with inurnment at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.

Donald Mercer
Donald B. Mercer, 75, died of heart failure Dec. 27, 2000, at his Keyport residence.
He was born Aug. 15, 1925, in Sumas.
He was a machinist at Keyport Naval Submarine Base for 27 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of Keyport Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife Anne (Sharick) Mercer; two sons, Dan of Kingston, and Jerry of Sequim; two daughters, Joanie Sexton of Hillsboro, Ore., and Rowan Hage of Coquille, Ore.; six brothers; four sisters;
14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Keyport Bible Church, in Keyport.

Minnie Bjorlee
Minnie L. Bjorlee, 85, of Central Valley, died Dec. 28, 2000, at Harrison Hospital of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 10, 1915, in Sacred Heart, Minn., to Eldon and Nettie (Warner) Replogle. She graduated from Pender High School in Pender, Neb., in 1936.
She married
Gustav Bjorlee on Jan. 25, 1941, in Central Valley. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Mrs. Bjorlee worked as a blue print machine operator at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 20 years, retiring in 1972.
She was a member of the Sons of Norway Oslo 35 in Bremerton, the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and Silverdale Lutheran Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Diane Gray of Poulsbo; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one sister and two brothers.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service is planned for 10 a.m. Tuesday at Silverdale Lutheran Church, with interment at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park. A reception will follow at noon at the Sons of Norway Oslo 35.

Mary Wynn
Mary G. Wynn, 81, of Bremerton, died Dec. 27, 2000, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born Sept. 13, 1919, in Anutt, Mo., to Arthur and Minnie (Creamer) Edmondsen. She graduated from Anutt High School in 1937.
She married
E.R. "Buck" Wynn on March 7, 1941, in Bremerton.
Mrs. Wynn worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and as a salesperson for many years at Kahn's Men's Store in Bremerton. She retired in 1985.
She enjoyed traveling and home decorating.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael of Silverdale and Arthur of Seattle; a daughter, Susan Ramsey of Bremerton; a brother, Paul Edmondsen of Rolla, Mo.; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Elizabeth and Naomi, and by a brother, Alex.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with interment at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Audrey Erickson
Audrey Erickson, of Bremerton, died of cancer Dec. 18, 2000, in Bremerton.
She was born in New Westminister, British Columbia, to Albert and Esther (Thompson) Lewis.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed painting.
Survivors include a daughter, Dianne Weaver; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband Emory Erickson in 1999; a son, Howard Weaver; a brother, Albert Lewis; Pearl Poitras and Evelyn Lakeman.

Mina Salgado
Former Bremerton resident Mina (Malonzo) Salgado, 58, died of cancer Dec. 26, 2000, in Virginia Beach, Va.
She was born Aug. 4, 1942, in Angeles City, Philippines, to Victoriano and Agapita (Sicat) Malonzo.
She was an interior designer.
She was a member of the Pampangueno Club of Washington and St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church.
Survivors include her husband, Dominador Salgado; two brothers, Tom Malonzo, of Manila, Philippines, and Rudy Malonzo of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Cresencia Malonzo, Guadalupe Deang and Diovides Non, all of Angeles City and Olive Castro of Virginia Beach. She was preceded in death by a sister, Maura Masanque.
A rosary and funeral service will take place in Virginia Beach. Arrangements are under the direction of Smith & Williams Funeral Home, Virginia Beach, Va.
Nelmer Folden
Nelmer Harold Folden, 69, of Port Orchard died of emphysema Dec. 16, 2000, at Washington Veterans Home in Retsil.
He was born Sept. 30, 1931, in Wolf Point, Mont., to Bjarne and Alvilda Folden. He graduated in 1950 from South Kitsap High School.
He married
Christy Haun on March 9, 1991, in Bellevue.
He served in the Marines from 1952 to 1955, achieving the rank of corporal. He received the Korean War Medal.
He was a carpenter, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife Christy; four sons, Mike of Port Orchard, Rick of Bellingham, Bruce of Mountlake Terrace and Mark of Sunnyslope; two daughters, Joyce Langdon of Moses Lake and Kristine Parr of Lakewood; three stepdaughters, Debbie Lane of Port Orchard, Dawnell Vaughn of Bremerton and Delena Josephsen of Maple Valley; three brothers, Nolan of Gladstone, Ore., Phil of Pueblo, Colo., and Fred of Cameralla, Calif.; a sister, Barbara Morgan of North Bend; 17 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Jan. 7 at Retsil Chapel, Washington Veterans Home. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Velma Ashby
Former Bremerton resident Velma Rosetta Ashby, 94, of Kent died Dec. 25, 2000, at Valley Medical Center in Renton.
She was born April 12, 1906, in South Bend, Ind., to Charles and Blanche (Slipper) McLain. She was a 1925 graduate of Garden City High School in Garden City, Kan.
She married
Raymond Ashby in 1935 in Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1983.
She worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 25 years, retiring in 1966.
She enjoyed gardening and crocheting.
She was a member of Bremerton and the West Campus Church of Christ.
Survivors include a daughter, Wanda Treick of Kent; a sister, Donna Carlson of Bremerton; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Frank McLain.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Private interment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
