Thomas Mason
Thomas Judge Mason, 70, formerly a Tracyton resident, died Dec. 21, 2000, in Tampa, Fla.
He was born Nov. 1, 1930, in Honolulu, to Frank and Martha Atkins. He was later adopted by Gary Mason.
He was a 1949 graduate of Central Kitsap High School, where he was class president, captain of the football team and a member of the ski team.
He enlisted in the Air Force in 1949 and served until 1953.
In 1952, he married
Jean Harris in Seattle.
He was employed by The Boeing Co. from 1953 until his retirement in 1987.
He enjoyed family, camping, fishing and golf.
He is survived by his first wife, Jean Mason of Tracyton, and their four children, Scott of Bremerton, and Tim of Poulsbo, Patty Freeman of Lake Stevens, and Jody Hansen of Tracyton; a brother, Daniel of Bremerton; his last wife, Yvonne of Tampa, Fla.; three stepchildren, Anna, Cheryl and Steven; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held for his family in Bremerton.
Earl Wasner
Earl Wasner, 68, died Dec. 23, 2000, at his Allyn residence.
He was born Sept. 19, 1932, in Seattle to Earl and Mary (Urlin) Wasner. He graduated from Franklin High School in Seattle in 1951 and Edison Technical College in Seattle in 1957.
He served in the Navy from 1951 to 1953, and in the reserves until 1965.
He married
Gerry Larson on June 18, 1960, in Tenino.
He worked for The Boeing Co.as an electrical developer for 37 years, retiring in 1994.
He enjoyed boating and traveling.
He was a member of North Mason United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Kevin of Burbank, Calif.; three daughters, Jean Mundell and Patrice Friedman both of Belfair, and Laura Craig of Port Orchard; a brother, Bob of Beaverton, Ore.; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Friday at the United Methodist Church in Shelton.

Shane Guile
Roderick "Shane" Guile, 71, of Olympia, and formerly of Seabeck, died Dec. 24, 2000, in Seattle of heart disease and diabetes.
He was born Dec. 10, 1929, in Kellogg, Idaho, to Marion Moultrie Miles and Alys Claudia Guile. He graduated from high school in Grants Pass, Ore., in 1946, later attending college and earning a business degree.
He married
Angelina Nancy Dipaola.
Mr. Guile served in the Navy from 1951 to 1976, achieving the rank of senior chief boatswain's mate. He received the Good Conduct Medal and the United Nations Service Medal.
He enjoyed hunting and gunsmithing. He was a member of the Catholic church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Zane of Allyn, Brian Vetch of Centralia and Bruce Vetch of Camano Island; a daughter, Brenda (Vetch) Hudson of Colleyville, Texas; two brothers, Dick Howell of Grants Pass and Gordon of Kirkland; three sisters, Karen Word, Claudia Bowers and Ardith Payne, all of Grants Pass; 15 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Shane and Michael.
Visitation for the family will be at 1 p.m. today at Whiteside Funeral Home in Aberdeen. A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Aberdeen, with interment at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Mary Baker
Mary Allen Baker, 83, of Bremerton died Dec. 24, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Jan. 4, 1917, in La Moure County, N.D., to William and Mary (Webber) Kennedy. She was a 1934 graduate of Berlin High School in Berlin, N.D. She graduated from North Dakota Agricultural College in 1938.
She married
Clarence Baker in 1941 in Rolla, N.D. He preceded her in death in September.
She was a school teacher for more than 30 years, teaching at South Kitsap High School in the 1940s and teaching nutrition for the Practical Nursing program at Olympic College in the 1950s.
She was a member of the Kitsap Women's Bowling Association and Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include a son, William of Bremerton; a daughter, Jan Bogle of Silverdale; two sisters, Telva Zickuhr of Jamestown, N.D., and Ruth Carlson of Puyallup; a brother, Ward Kennedy of Jamestown; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at Summit Avenue Presbyterian Church. Entombment will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Michael Briody
Michael Kent Briody, 55, of Soap Lake died Dec. 21, 2000, in Grant County.
He was born July 22, 1945, in Evansville, Ind., to Robert and Helen (Rouch) Briody.
He married
Karen (Jones) Briody on Nov. 1, 1986.
He graduated from Evansville High School.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 18 years and at Genie Industries in Moses Lake for four years.
He served in the Army.
Mr. Briody loved to fish and camp.
He is survived by his wife; his stepmother, Martha Briody of Evansville; two sons, Aaron and Chad, both of Soap Lake; a daughter, Debra Briody of Bremerton; a brother, Gary Briody of Evansville, and two sisters, Peggy Briody of Newburgh and Pat Hunter of Evansville, Indiana.
Visitation was Tuesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. today at Rill Chapel, with burial at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
Raymond Stephens
Raymond Harold Stephens, 92, of Bainbridge Island died Dec. 25, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Nov. 26, 1908, in Cabool, Mo., to Henry and Harriet (Williams) Stephens. He attended high school in Centralia and business college in Seattle.
He was a bookkeeper and a banker, retiring in 1976.
Mr. Stephens was a Mason and enjoyed baseball.
Survivors include a son, William of Bainbridge; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrtle, in 1990.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 5 p.m. Thursday at Kass Funeral Home in Bainbridge Island. A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Kane cemetery.
Kenneth Parkinson
Kenneth E. Parkinson, 46, of Bremerton died Dec. 22, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Jan. 5, 1954, in Craig, Colo., to Gordon and Barbara (Taylor) Parkinson. He graduated in 1972 from South Kitsap High School.
Mr. Parkinson served in the Navy from 1974 to 1976.
He married
Wendy Callahan on April 5, 1997, in Gorst.
He was a carpenter and mechanical rigger at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Mr. Parkinson enjoyed model cars and airplanes.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Barbara Powell of Citrus Heights, Calif.; two sons, Nathaniel and Joel, both of Bremerton; a daughter, Mikah Parkinson of Bremerton; two sisters, Lori Swindoll of Port Orchard and Cari Parkinson of Citrus Heights; and a brother, Steven of Port Orchard.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Crematory in Poulsbo.
Mildred MacDonald
Mildred "Berly" MacDonald, 90, of Silverdale died Dec. 24, 2000, at Crista Shores.
She was born Jan. 30, 1910, in Bonner, Mont., to Bert and Astrid (Mattson) Alger.
She married
Allen P. MacDonald in Deer Lodge, Mont., in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She was a member of Eastern Star.
Survivors include two sons, Donald and Frank both of Bremerton; a daughter, Diane Marrs of Bremerton; a sister, Peggy Olson of Bremerton; seven grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Arlene Shew.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 8 at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment
will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Cathryn Kearney
Cathryn Marie "Cathy" Kearney, 51, of Bremerton died of cancer Dec. 25, 2000, at her home.
She was born Sept. 24, 1949, in Roseburg, Ore., to Ernie Benson and Ella Mae Carney (McNiell). She graduated from Capuchino High School in Millbrae, Calif.
She married
Wayne T. Kearney on Oct. 5, 1990, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
She enjoyed flower gardening and arts and crafts.
Survivors include her husband of Bremerton; her mother and stepfather, Ella Mae and Robert E. Carney of Hayward, Calif.; a son, Steven McCord; two stepsons, Warren and Walter Kearney; four brothers, Ernest Benson of Eugene, Ore., Charles Carney of Castro Valley, Calif., and Phil and Gary Benson, both of Oregon; four sisters, Pamela Muhamedcani of Union City, Calif., Susan Magone of Dutch Harbor, Alaska, and Vickie and Penny Benson, both of Idaho; and one granddaughter. She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday at the Apostolic Life Tabernacle in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Gordon Tinnin
Gordon E. Tinnin, 70, died Dec. 22, 2000, at his Poulsbo residence.
He was born June 18, 1930, in Compton, Calif., to Asa and Babbitt (Hinkler) Tinnin. He was a 1948 graduate of Browns Military Academy at Avenal High, in Avenal, Calif.
He married
Elaine Marshall on Dec. 25, 1949, in Avenal.
He served in the Coast Guard, achieving the rank of engineman 1st class.
He was a master mechanic for operating engineers at Bangor Submarine Base for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the Warren G. Harding Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed flying airplanes.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kelly of Poulsbo and Gordon II of Alaska; a daughter, Lucinda Tinnin of Poulsbo; a sister, Betty Jean Anderson of Casa Grande, Ariz.; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Arthur Von Behren; and a sister, Laura E. Wise.
A memorial service is scheduled for 7 p.m. Thursday at Warren G. Harding Lodge 260, Third and Hostmark, Poulsbo. Cremation will take place at Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
