Ronald Flint
Ronald Edwin Flint, 55, of Bremerton died following a lengthy illness Dec. 16, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born Feb. 2, 1945, in Coos Bay, Ore., to John and Eunice (Lief) Flint. He attended high school in Illinois.
He was a sandblaster for 11 years before retiring.
He enjoyed driving in the Destruction Derby and tinkering with cars.
Survivors include his former wife, Debbie Suhr of Port Orchard; a son, Brandon of Bremerton; a daughter, Michelle Flint of Bremerton; two sisters, Connie Morris of Kentucky and Sandy Wilckens of Illinois; and two half sisters, Caroline Smith of Arizona and Carole Johnson of Illinois. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Donald in 1971.
A memorial service is planned for 3:30 p.m. today at the Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Sally Ford
Sarah "Sally" Mobley Ford, 93, of Port Orchard died Dec. 17, 2000, in Port Orchard.
She was born July 13, 1907, in Sewanee, Tenn., to Tully and Elon (Hawkins) Mansfield.
She was a spinner at Pendleton Woolen Mills. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Waushougal.
Survivors include a son, Don Mobley of Fresno, Calif.; a daughter, Elaine Van Woudenberg of Bremerton; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Walden Mobley, in 1962; her second husband, Mervin Ford in 1988; and a son, Lloyd Mobley, in 1966.
A graveside service will take place at 1 p.m. Jan. 6, 2001, at the Washougal Memorial cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee Funeral Home in Tacoma.
Phyllis Hartline
Former Bremerton resident Phyllis Marie Hartline, 56, died of multiple myeloma Dec. 18, 2000, in Bakersfield, Calif.
She was born April 23, 1944, in Bremerton to Philip and Mary (Havens) Drouin.
She graduated in 1962 from West High School in Bremerton.
She married
Dan Hartline in 1963 in Bremerton.
She was the director of Catholic Social Services for 15 years in Bakersfield.
She was a Volunteer Eucharistic Minister for Mercy Hospital in Bakersfield.
Survivors include her husband Dan of Bakersfield; her parents of Bremerton; two sons, Donald and Thomas of Orange County, Calif.; two daughters, Teresa Cushnyr and Mary Janet Stevens both of Bakersfield; two brothers, Ed Drouin of Spokane and Tom Drouin of Mukilteo; three sisters, Donna Downom of Bremerton, Jody Wheeldon of Seattle, and Gari Peake of Belfair; and six grand children. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Drouin.
Services were held in Bakersfield.

Lloyd Johnson
Lloyd M. Johnson, 90, of Bremerton died Dec. 14, 2000, at the Sun Bridge Care and Rehabilitation Center of Oyster Bay.
He was born Nov. 22, 1910, in Garfield, Minn., to Olaf and Minnie (Hanson) Johnson.
He was a painter for the Bremerton school district for 33 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of Eagles and Sons of Norway. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn of Bremerton.
A memorial service was held Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Inurnment took place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Esther Ness
Esther E. Ness, 98, of Poulsbo died Dec. 10, 2000, on Bainbridge Island.
She was born April 9, 1902, in Nohler, Idaho, to George S. and Janet D. (Maybe) Martin. She graduated from Mabton High School in Mabton, Wash.
She married
Leif Ness on Aug. 14, 1931, in Harrah, Wash. He preceded her in death in 1992.
She was a teacher and homemaker.
She was a member of Ingeborg Nevill Auxiliary of Children's Hospital. She also was active in the Poulsbo Library.
Survivors include two daughters, Jan Erickson of Poulsbo and Sonja Donnelly of Lake Oswego, Ore.; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will take place in Weston, Ore. Local arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Betty Hill
Betty P. Hill, 75, of Bremerton died Dec. 18, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born March 27, 1925, in Iola, Kan., to Claude and Mildred (Cummings) Fisher. She graduated from Iola High School in 1943. She was a 1980 graduate of Central Washington University.
She married
Howard N. Hill on Jan. 21, 1959, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1976.
Mrs. Hill worked in civil service for 31 years, retiring in 1974.
She enjoyed reading and genealogy.
Survivors include a son, Murphy Fann of Washington; a daughter, Susan Myhre of Bremerton; a sister, Lavonda Preston of Iola; and five grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Belle Ann Prator; and a sister, Pat Doyle.
At the families' request, no services are planned. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Crematory with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.

James Ablitt
James Gerald Ablitt, 57, died Dec. 7, 2000, at his Port Orchard residence.
He was born Dec. 3, 1943, in Bremerton, to Edward and Margaret (Rollins) Ablitt.
He served in the Air Force, achieving the rank of airman second class. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Air Force Good Conduct Medal.
He later was a rigger at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
He was an avid sports fan.
Survivors include a son, James of Port Orchard; three daughters, Kimberly of Bremerton and Julie and Leslie of Port Orchard; two sisters, Charlene McConnell of Port Orchard and Roberta Kudera of Silverdale; a brother, Wayne of Port Orchard; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jan in 1993.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Lloyd Andrew Pappas, 79, of Bremerton, died Dec. 17, 2000, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Nov. 28, 1921, in Bremerton to Andrew and Rena (Anderson) Pappas. He was a 1940 Bremerton High School graduate.
He married
Dolores L. Beane on May 16, 1942, in Bremerton.
He served with the Army Signal Corps during World War II.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard as a pipefitter for 23 years, retiring in 1973.
He enjoyed golf and fishing.
He was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis of Belfair; a daughter, Janet Pappas Cowan of Cupertino, Calif.; a sister, Elaine Zevenburgen of Edmonds; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday at Our Savior's Lutheran Church at 10th and Veneta. A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Clare Speigle
Clare G. Speigle, 65, of Bremerton died of congestive heart failure Dec. 16, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Selah to Charles and Leona Telford. She graduated from high school in Seattle in 1953.
She married
Charles Speigle on Feb. 19, 1955, at the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Chapel.
She worked with Stephen Ministry. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Dan C. of Shelton; and five grandchildren.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. today at Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Jenell Cross
S. Jenell Cross, 58, of Port Orchard died in an automobile accident Dec. 17, 2000, in Port Orchard.
She was born Nov. 19, 1942, in Red Oak, Okla., to Julius and Nellie (Estes) Cross.
She was a 1960 graduate of Franklin High School in Stockton, Calif. She also attended Southwestern Bible College in Bethany, Okla.
She was a lab technician for Del Monte in Stockton, Calif. She worked for 20 years, retiring in 1994.
She was a member of Garden Acres Pentecostal Holiness Church in Stockton. She attended Belfair Assembly of God Church.
She is survived by her mother; a brother, Jerry Cross of Belfair; three sisters, Jecquetta Baker of Port Orchard, Fern Bartcher of Albuquerque, N.M., and Beverly Hooper of Oklahoma City. She was preceded in death by her father and a sister, Cherry Lou Ingram.
A funeral service is planned for 7 p.m. Wednesday at Belfair Assembly of God. Interment
will take place at Cherokee Memorial Park in Lodi, Calif. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
