Thomas Corwin
Thomas R. Corwin, 66, of Port Orchard died Dec. 2, 2000, at Port Orchard Care Center.
He was born July 27, 1934, in Toledo, Ohio, to Alvah and Edith Teed (Owyler) Corwin. He graduated in 1952 from Palm Springs High School in California.
Mr. Corwin served in the Navy from 1952 to 1956, achieving the rank of electrician's mate 3rd class.
He was a beverage salesman for 35 years, retiring in 1989.
He enjoyed cars and collecting beer signs.
Survivors include his former wife, Jeri Corwin of Port Orchard; a stepfather, Ray L. Karge of Imperial Beach, Calif.; two sons, Robert of Bothell and Thomas of Bremerton; and four grandchildren.
A celebration of his life for family and friends is pending. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Darrel Clipps
Former Silverdale resident Darrel L. Clipps, 69, of Wenatchee died Dec. 3, 2000, in Wenatchee.
He was born July 17, 1931, in Oshkosh, Wis., to George and Nellie Clipps.
He served in the Army from 1949 to 1953.
Mr. Clipps worked for the Federal Civil Service at Bangor and Indian Island for more than 20 years. He retired in 1990.
He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and the Good Sam Travel Club.
Survivors include his wife, Judy of Wenatchee; two daughters, Carla Heath of Everett and Caren Purbaugh of Silverdale; two stepsons, Douglas Shirk of Wenatchee and Scott Jenkins of Bridgeport, Wash.; two stepdaughters, Kim Stalings and Lisa Spotanski, both of Wenatchee; a brother, Clark of Manasha, Wis.; five grandchildren; four stepgrandchildren; and a great-granddaughter.
A memorial service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nazarene in Wenatchee.
Daisy Lohning
Daisy Fae Lohning, 83, of Bremerton died Dec. 3, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 4, 1917, in Deer Lodge, Mont., to Charles and Golda (Hargrafen) Sadorus. She graduated in 1936 from high school in Portland, Ore.
She married
Thomas D. Lohning in May 1938 in Portland. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Mrs. Lohning was a member of the Sunday Wonders Bowling League and the Order of Eastern Star in Gresham, Ore.
She is survived by three daughters, Paula McMillan of Bremerton and Mary Lou Witter and Sally Ann Hall, both of The Dalles, Ore.; a sister, Billie Jean Walrod of Troutdale, Ore.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Lee "Rickie" Lohning.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at the McMillan residence. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
George Johnson
George R. Johnson, 74, of Bremerton died Dec. 3, 2000, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
He was born Oct. 27, 1926, in Electric, Texas, to George and Annie (Jeremiah) Johnson.
He married
Berenice Hosfield on May 8, 1982, in Bremerton.
Mr. Johnson served in the Navy with the SeaBees.
He was the nuclear department supervisor at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 43 years, retiring in 1981.
He was a member of the Protestant church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John of Vancouver, Wash., and James of La Habre, Calif.; two stepsons, James Cowen of Vancouver, Wash., and Gary Cowen of Federal Way; two sisters, Olette Melane and Juanita Sterling, both of Yuba City, Calif.; four brothers, Ralph and Leo, both of Sacramento, Calif., and Rex and Jack, both of Yuba City; 12 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Interment
will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Caroline Mollick
Caroline Kincaid Mollick, 89, of Bremerton died of natural causes Dec. 4, 2000, in Bremerton.
She was born Nov. 12, 1911, in Huff, N.D., to Martin and Elizabeth (Tschida) Graner. She graduated in 1931 from Mandan High School in Mandan, N.D., and in 1939 from State Teachers College in Dickinson, N.D.
She married
Russell J. Mollick on April 5, 1975, in Bremerton.
She taught in a one-room school for 11 years in North Dakota. She then was a supply clerk at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 22 years, retiring in 1975.
Mrs. Mollick was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church, the Sons of Italy and NARFE in Bremerton.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Cliff Kincaid of Port Orchard and Clayton Kincaid of Snohomish; two stepdaughters, Catherine Hughes of Clovis, N.M., and Patricia Scott of Henderson, Nev.; two sisters, Dolores Fuchs of Bremerton and Rita Schmidt of Huff; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Theodore A. Kincaid, in 1951; and a stepdaughter, Virginia Tecter.
Visitation is scheduled for noon Friday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton. A rosary will follow at 12:30 p.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Entombment will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Beatrice Lupton
Former Bainbridge Island resident Beatrice Lupton, 88, of Seattle died of complications from pneumonia Dec. 1, 2000, in Seattle.
She was born July 20, 1912, in Akron, Ohio, to Charles and Etta (Bowers) Cranz. She graduated in 1930 from Lincoln High School in Seattle.
She married
Axel Noll in Poulsbo in 1934. He preceded her in death in 1955. She later married
James Lupton in Seattle in 1955. He preceded her in death in 1982.
Mrs. Lupton was a member of the Unity Church of Truth and the Bainbridge Island Saturday Market.
She is survived by a son, Frederick Lupton of Seattle; a brother, Richard Cranz of Ballard; a sister, Irene Kamsler of Sherman Oaks, Calif.; and a grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow. Inurnment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Ruby Halvorson
Ruby Ada Halvorson, 91, died Dec. 3, 2000, at her Port Gamble residence.
She was born Feb. 5, 1909, in Poulsbo to Ole and Ellen (Olson) Kvinsland. She was a 1927 graduate of Union High School in Poulsbo and attended Wilson Business School in Seattle.
She worked for the Kitsap County Physician's Bureau, retiring as chief financial officer after 30 years.
She was a member of the Episcopalian church and PEO. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a daughter, Sue Wilcox of Port Gamble; two stepdaughters, Janice Peterson of Poulsbo and Ann Gangaard of Portland, Ore.; two sisters, Elaine Gerstenberger and Bernice Kristensen, both of Poulsbo; a brother, Howard Kvinsland of Silverdale; ten grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Nelson Campbell Davidson; and her second husband, Clarence Halvorson.
A memorial service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Webster Taylor
Webster Franklin Taylor, 98, of Bremerton died of natural causes Nov. 29, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born June 2, 1902, in Orient.
He married
Helen Thwaite on June 8, 1930, in Republic. She preceded him in death in 1990.
He was a heavy duty equipment operator at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 19 years. He worked at Harrison Hospital for 21 years, retiring as chief engineer in charge of plant maintenance and heating in 1971.
He was a member of the Steadfast Masonic Lodge 216 in Manette. He enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a son; John Taylor of Bremerton; three daughters, Dora Lynn Rice of Gig Harbor, Alyce Brandner of Auburn and Susan (Taylor) Greene of Springfield, Ore.; 12 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Dec. 9 at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park. A memorial celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. at Crossroads Neighborhood Church, corner of Fairgrounds and Old Military Roads.
Mildred Allen
Mildred T. Allen, 86, of Port Orchard died Nov. 16, 2000, at Port Orchard Care Center.
She was born Oct. 31, 1914, in St. Louis, to Carl and Freda (Meyke) Lind. She graduated from Inglewood High School in Inglewood, Calif., and from the University of Southern California.
She was a registered nurse at Pomona Valley Community Hospital. She retired in 1980.
Mrs. Allen enjoyed gardening and traveling to Las Vegas. She was a member of the Lutheran church.
She is survived by a son, Robert Allen of Port Orchard; a sister, Dorothy Tygrett of San Jose, Calif.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service has been planned for 2 p.m. Tuesday at Port Orchard Care Center. Inurnment will take place at Inglewood cemetery in California. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Martha Bergin
Martha I. Bergin, 87, of Bremerton died of natural causes Nov. 29, 2000, at Claremont East Retirement Apartments.
She was born Feb. 22, 1913, in McCool Junction, Neb., to Frank and Anna (Basta) Brown. She graduated from McCool Junction High School in 1930.
She married
Edward Bergin in McCool Junction in 1931. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Mrs. Bergin worked for the State of Washington as a clerical worker in the tax refund department for 11 years. She retired in 1976.
She enjoyed traveling and needlework.
Survivors include two sons, Ned of Olympia and Jack of Bremerton; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Gloria Rownd, in 1997; a brother; and a sister.
A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Interment
will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Myrtle Collins
Myrtle E. Collins, 85, of Port Orchard died of natural causes Nov. 30, 2000, at Emerald Green Adult Care in Port Orchard.
She was born Oct. 16, 1915, in Everett, Mass., to William H. and Esther (Clarke) Collins. She graduated from Malden High School in Malden, Mass.
She was a bank teller, retiring in 1976.
Ms. Collins was a member of the Baptist church.
She is survived by two brothers, Maurice R. Collins of North Fort Meyers, Fla., and John V. Collins of Port Orchard; and two sisters, June Patriquin of Lynfield, Mass., and Martha E. Ferguson of Castine, Maine.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
