Terry Materi, 48, of Silverdale died Nov. 28, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born March 12, 1952, in Bismark, N.D., to John and Rose Materi.
He married
Cherie on March 11, 1978, in Morgan City, La.
He enjoyed fishing and racing.
Survivors include his wife; his parents of Kent; a son, Joshua of Seattle; two daughters, Trish Materi of Bremerton and Denise Powell of Lynnwood; a brother, Tim of Renton; a sister, Cindi Materi of Northern California; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for noon Saturday at Holy Spirit Parish, 310 3rd Ave. S., Kent, WA 98032.

Linda Williams
Linda B. Williams, 51, of Port Orchard died of cancer Nov. 28, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 29, 1948, in Los Angeles, to George and Barbara (Langloise) Stamm. She received her GED in Colton, Calif., in 1985.
She worked in sales at Reynolds Aluminum for 10 years.
Ms. Williams enjoyed crafts and critiquing movies.
Survivors include three sons, Jerry Wasserman of Hesperia, Calif., and Mark Wasserman and Robert Shepherd, both of Port Orchard; two daughters, Sherry Jennings of Seabeck and Sandi Wasserman of Port Orchard; a brother, George Stamm of Stockton, Calif.; three sisters, Gail Rice of Silverdale, Dawn Erskine of Grand Terrace, Calif., and Candy Grant of Sutherlin, Ore.; and 12 grandchildren.
Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Hildur Dahl
Hildur E. Dahl, 92, of Port Orchard died Nov. 24, 2000, of Alzheimer's disease at Orchard Point Specialty Care Community.
She was born Jan. 28, 1908, in Jarpen, Sweden, to Andrew and Emma (Soderholm) Felt.
In 1932, she married
Adrian Dahl in Williston, N.D. He preceded her in death in 1989.
After teaching school in North Dakota for 10 years, she and her husband moved and owned and operated Dahl Shoes & Service in Lake City for 25 years, retiring in 1970.
She is survived by three sisters, Delores Halvorson of Port Orchard, Liddy Hutchinson of Longview and Florence Felt of Hettinger, N.D. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Andrew and Arnold Felt.
A gathering of friends and family is planned from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the home of Manley and Delores Halvorson in Port Orchard. Inurnment will take place at The National cemetery of Arizona in Phoenix.

William Martin
William Wayne Martin, 56, of Tucson, Ariz., formerly of Bremerton, died Nov. 22, 2000, in Tucson.
He was born May 16, 1944, in Ajo, Ariz., to Bob and Lillie (Peace) Martin. He graduated from Ajo High School in 1962 and attended the University of Arizona for two years.
He worked as a dispatcher for the sheriff's department in Arizona.
He enjoyed reading and advocating for the handicapped.
He is survived by his wife, Verna of California; a daughter, Cheri Johnson of Tucson; a sister, B. Sebonne O'Francia of Seattle; and a brother, Kessler of Benton City.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Mountain View cemetery in Silverdale. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
Arthur Waaga
Arthur E. Waaga, 91, died Nov. 23, 2000, at his Belfair residence.
He was born March 15, 1909, in Bremerton. He was a 1927 graduate of Union High School in Bremerton.
He married
Martha Ward on March 27, 1930, in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in 1997.
Mr. Waaga served in the Army from 1945 to 1946, achieving the rank of sergeant. He was awarded a Purple Heart.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 35 years, retiring as a superintendent in 1964. He enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Phil of Port Hadlock; a daughter, Robin Soros of Seattle; a brother, Lloyd of Lake San Marcos, Calif.;
five grandchildren; and six great-grandchilren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin, and a sister, Thelma Florence.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Dec. 30 at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

James McArthur
James F. McArthur, 78, of Bremerton died of heart failure Nov. 25, 2000, in Wickenburg, Ariz.
He was born Dec. 27, 1921, in Osage County, Okla., to Robert and Nora (Wilson) McArthur.
He was a 1939 graduate of Maud High School in Maud, Okla., and attended the University of Oklahoma.
He married
Marie (Bredeck) Murrow on May 3, 1977, in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in July.
He served as a dental technician in the Navy from 1942 until his retirement in 1969, achieving the rank of chief petty officer. He later worked as an upholsterer for 23 years, retiring in 1993.
He was a member of the Elks, the American Legion and Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, James of Wickenburg, Ariz.; a daughter, Jerie Ann Butler of Tempe, Ariz.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Three sisters, Willie Thompson, Olive Dudley and Fern Bracken, preceded him in death.
A rosary will be recited at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church followed by the celebration of a Mass at 11 a.m.

Holly Kolhoff
Holly Dee Kolhoff, 53, died Nov. 25, 2000, at her Kingston residence.
She was born March 6, 1947, in Annapolis, Minn., to Donald and Doris (Henssler) Johnson.
She graduated from high school in England.
She married
James Kolhoff on Feb. 13, 1966, in Bergstrom, Texas.
Mrs. Kolhoff was a waitress in several North Kitsap restaurants.
Survivors include her husband; her parents, of San Diego; a son, Steven of Puyallup; a daughter, Gillian Taylor of Des Moines, Wash.; a sister, Stacey of Minneapolis; two brothers, Donald Johnson of San Diego and David Johnson of Minneapolis; and five grandchildren.
No service is planned. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel, with cremation at Cherry Grove.
Bruce Masock
A.J. "Bruce" Masock, 72, died Nov. 20, 2000, at his Bremerton residence.
He was born Nov. 16, 1928, in Salt Lake City to Alexander and Teresa (Bruno) Masock. He graduated from the University of Utah and finished medical school there.
He married
Normandie Pearce on Dec. 22, 1960, in Bellevue.
Mr. Masock served in the Army, enlisting in 1945.
He specialized in rehabilitation medicine for 35 years, retiring in 1995.
He enjoyed computers and video.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Ronald of Littleton, Colo., and Christopher of Oregon City, Ore.; a daughter, Antonia Lauer of Clovis, N.M.; four sisters; two brothers; and two grandchildren.

Carl Lidke
Carl L. Lidke, 71, died Nov. 24, 2000, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center, after having diabetes.
He was born Aug. 10, 1929, to Vernon and Cleo (Long) Lidke, in Hastings, Neb. He attended school in Yakima.
He married
Arlene Huyck on Oct. 15, 1977, in Bremerton.
He served in the Army National Guard and the Washington State National Guard achieving the rank of corporal and major, respectively.
He retired from Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Mr. Lidke was a member of Elks 1181 and enjoyed stamp collecting.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Carl, Timothy and Stephen, all of Yakima; one stepson; Micheal Grau, serving in the U.S. Air Force in England; two daughters, Robin Lidke of Yakima and Cynthia Fryar of Vancouver, Wash.; one stepdaughter, Debra Rodriguez of Alaska; two sisters, Nancy Valicoff and Julia "Cricket" Cingle, both of Yakima; several grandchildren; and one great-granchild. He was preceded in death by a stepson, Harvey Grau Jr., and by an infant brother, William.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Hillcrest Assembly of God in Bremerton.

Betty Swiggart
Former Bremerton resident Betty Swiggart, 79, of Sonora, Calif., died Nov. 26, 2000, in Sonora.
She was born Oct. 15, 1921, in Bremerton to Mary and George Truemper. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1939.
She married
Earle Swiggart in Bremerton in 1941. He preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons, David and Ricky, both of Sonora; two daughters, Patti of Sonora and Linda of San Jose, Calif.; a brother, Bill Truemper of Bremerton; and numerous grand-children.
No service will be held.
Theresa Doerflinger
Theresa P. Doerflinger, 86, of Kingston died Nov. 23, 2000, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
She was born Nov. 22, 1914, in Ferndale to Thomas P. and Josephine S. (Matz) Reilly. She graduated from Ferndale High School in 1932.
She married
William A. Doerflinger. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Mrs. Doerflinger was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts and gardening. She was a member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo.
She is survived by two sons, Edward Veenhuizen of Greenfield, Ind., and James Veenhuizen of Spokane; two stepsons, Richard Doerflinger of Whidbey Island and Robert Doerflinger of Seattle; two stepdaughters, Kathy and Linda, both of Seattle; three sisters, Cecelia Sabo of Poulsbo, Loretta Hunter of Ferndale and Patricia Crosby of Mount Vernon; a brother, Maurice Reilly of Ferndale; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A rosary will be said at 6 p.m. Friday at St. Olaf's Catholic Church. A funeral liturgy is planned for 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Olaf's. Interment
will take place at Washington Memorial Park in SeaTac. Arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
