Pansy Ricks
Pansy Lillian Ricks, 90, of Kingston died Nov. 12, 2000, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
She was born May 12, 1910, in Bridger, Mont., to Paul and Maude (Rue) Hoffman. She graduated from high school and from technical school in Denver.
She married
Robert Ricks on April 12, 1952, in San Fernando, Calif.
Mrs. Ricks was a secretary for Lockheed in Burbank, Calif., for 5 years, retiring in 1957.
She was a member of several Seventh-Day Adventist Church groups, most recently the Poulsbo Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Marlene Skilken of Kingston; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Nov. 25 at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Poulsbo. Cremation is under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Thelma Pallo
Thelma E. Pallo, 83, of Lacey died of pneumonia Nov. 13, 2000, at Panorama City Convalescent Center.
She was born Feb. 26, 1917, in Southworth to Otto and Josephine Eckblom. She graduated in 1935 from Garfield High School and attended business college in Seattle.
She married
George E. Pallo on June 25, 1938, in Harper, Wash. He preceded her in death in 1967.
Mrs. Pallo was a bookkeeper for Howe Automotive in Port Orchard and a realtor for John L. Scott.
She was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Olympia and the Sons of Norway Oslo Lodge in Bremerton. She enjoyed attending community concerts in Bremerton and Olympia.
Survivors include two daughters, Joann Harris of Greeley, Colo., and Donna Pallo-Perez of Olympia; three sisters, Emma Keyes of Edmonds, Myrtle Eckblom of Bellevue and Lily Geddie of Fayetteville, N.C.; and one grandson.
A memorial service is planned for 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Westminster Church in Olympia. Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow.

Gary Botz
Gary Allen Botz, 46, of Bremerton died Nov. 11, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born in Bremerton on Feb. 2, 1954, to James A. and Elsie (Kluth) Botz. He graduated from East High School in Bremerton in 1974.
Mr. Botz was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his parents; a sister, Gail Lynn Garland of Nairobi, Kenya, Africa; three brothers, James Jr. of Fallbrooke, Calif., Donald of Vanuatu, South Pacific, and Richard of Oregon City, Ore.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Peace Lutheran Church, with interment at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Pearl Soderberg
Pearl Soderberg, 85, of Kingston died of complications from brain cancer Nov. 9, 2000, in Seattle.
She was born Nov. 5, 1915, in Seattle to Ted and Grace (Peterson) Young. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1933.
She married
J. Elmer Soderberg on Feb. 21, 1933. He preceded her in death in 1978.
Mrs. Soderberg was a homemaker and artist. She enjoyed sport fishing and was a member of Kingston Super Seniors.
Survivors include two daughters, Louise Lien of Kingston and Judy Odell of Shoreline; a brother, Jim Young of Woodinville; a sister, Patty Flanagan of Woodinville; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, John, and by a grandson.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingston Christian Church.
Sylvia Grant
Sylvia Grant, 80, of Tracyton died Nov. 13, 2000, at Northwoods Lodge.
She was born Sept. 30, 1920, in North Carolina to Lee and Rosa (Simpson) Baynard.
She is survived by a son, David Fowler of Dallas; a daughter, Rosa Lee Lancy of Pittsburgh; two brothers, Gudger Baynard of Hendersonville, N.C., and Joe Baynard of Acworth, Ga.; a sister, Natile "Polly" Harmon of Oakman, Ga.; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Allen Grant, in 1996.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 7 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service is planned for 10 a.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn. Interment
will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Harry Kehm
Harry Kehm, 75, of Bremerton died Nov. 13, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 17, 1924, in Sheboygan, Wis., to George and Lydia (Reinbacher) Kehm. He was educated in Sheboygan.
Mr. Kehm served in the Army during World War II.
He married
Adella Rowley on Feb. 13, 1965, in Bremerton.
Mr. Kehm was a clerk for the U.S. Postal Service, retiring in 1981.
He enjoyed woodworking and taking trips to Reno, Nev., with his wife.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Willard Schmittler of Bremerton; a daughter, Vickie Bushnell of Bremerton; and four granddaughters.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Dec. 1 at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center, with private interment at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Henrietta Gross
Henrietta M. Gross, 86, of Seabeck died Nov. 13, 2000, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born June 20, 1914, in Long Beach, Calif., to Herman J. and Hilda M. (Stokes) Weber. She graduated in 1932 from Wilson High School in Long Beach.
She married
Karl Gross on Jan. 30, 1938, in Long Beach. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Mrs. Gross was a restaurant owner and worked in retail sales. She enjoyed gardening and sewing.
Survivors include a son, Louis of Woodland Hills, Calif.; a daughter, Loretta Roossien of Seabeck; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel, with cremation at Cherry Grove Crematory.

Karl Hofmann
Karl C. Hofmann, 79, of Port Orchard died of natural causes Nov. 11, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born June 23, 1921, in Germany to Hans and Wilhelmina Hofmann. He studied tool and die making in Germany.
He married
Maria J. Fibich on Dec. 1, 1951, in Germany.
Mr. Hofmann was a tool and die maker at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1986. He enjoyed watch making and repair.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Shirley Johnson of Port Orchard; two sisters, Hilda Reid of Port Orchard, and Inge Brendel of Germany; and one grandson.
A memorial service is planned for 1 to 4 p.m. Dec. 3 at the family home. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Ernest Gerjets
Former Bremerton resident Ernest Arthur Gerjets, 85, of Ortonville, Minn., died of a heart attack Nov. 13, 2000, in Ortonville.
He was born May 4, 1915, in Scotland, S.D., to Gerjet and Bertha (Ohling) Gerjets.
He married
Bliss Beachem on March 28, 1936, in Yankton, S.D.
Mr. Gerjets was a shipfitter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1941, until the end of World War II. He later farmed in Ortonville until 1981.
He enjoyed his grandchildren and fixing machinery. He was a member of the United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dennis of Brookings, S.D.; a daughter, Penny Stelling of Chandler, Ariz.; a brother, Elmer of Silverdale; a sister, Lorene Eimes of Scotland, S.D.; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; and two step-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and one sister.
Visitation was held Wednesday at Larson Funeral Home in Ortonville. A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. today at the United Methodist Church in Ortonville, with interment at Mound cemetery there.
Joseph Twogood Jr.
Joseph Albert Twogood Jr., 76, of Hansville died of natural causes Nov. 9, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Tacoma to Joseph and Mildred (Barnett) Twogood. He attended Peninsula High School and graduated from an apprenticeship at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
He married
Lucy I. Young on Dec. 27, 1986, in Edmonds.
He was staff chief engineer for the Washington State Ferries, retiring after 35 years.
Mr. Twogood enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Joseph III of Hansville, Jerome of Silverdale and Robert of Koneohe, Hawaii; a daughter, Karen Hulbert of Burlington; eight grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Gladys "Elaine" (Sievertsen) Twogood, in 1985; a son, Steven, in 1944; a daughter, Christine Strickland, in 1977; a brother, James; and a sister, Doris.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Thursday at The Stone Chapel.

Norma Lund
Norma Ada Lund, 81, of Poulsbo died of cancer
Nov. 11, 2000, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
She was born Sept. 27, 1919, in Seattle to Charles and Ada (Colby) Mortenson. She graduated from high school in Seattle in 1937.
She married
Glenn E. Lund on July 17, 1955, in Poulsbo. He preceded her in death in 1978.
She and her husband owned Glenn's Poulsbo Drug Store for 23 years, retiring in 1978.
Mrs. Lund was a singer with the Buzz Whiteley Big Band for more than 40 years and was a member of the Kitsap Golf and Country Club.
Survivors include a son, Gary of Paisley, Ontario, Canada; a daughter, Cheryl Roosa of Graham; four grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter.
A celebration of her life is planned from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Sons of Norway in Poulsbo.
