Mary Smith
Former Bremerton resident Mary A. Smith, 50, of Thibodaux died Nov. 12, 2000, at Thibodaux Regional Medical Center.
She was born Sept. 23, 1950, to Leonard and Alice Loffland Biskeborn.
Survivors include her husband, Robert D. Smith; a daughter, Stacy Bryant; a sister, Joyce Munson; and one grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. today and from noon to 1:45 p.m. Wednesday at Landry's Funeral Home in Thibodaux. A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at First United Methodist Church in Thibodaux.
Bonnie Hall
Bonnie Jean Hall, 72, of Poulsbo died Nov. 10, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 3, 1928, in Havre, Mont., to Art and Vera (Kester) Weyh. She attended school in Montana, Oregon and Washington.
She worked in the galley for the Washington State Ferry System for 19 years, retiring in 1990.
Mrs. Hall was a member of the Nordic Viking Group and the Sons of Norway.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Hall; a son, Robert Hansen of Alverado, Texas; a daughter, Cheryl Davey of Poulsbo; a brother, Art Weyh Jr. of Havre; a sister, Joanne Schubert of Havre; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at the Sons of Norway in Poulsbo. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Joseph Baier
Joseph E. Baier, 65, of Bremerton died Oct. 22, 2000, at his home of pancreatic cancer.
He was born Jan. 25, 1935, in Menomonie, Wis., to Earl and Evelyn (Bates) Baier. He graduated from Durand High School in Durand, Wis., in 1952, and later from Roosevelt University in Illinois.
He married
Marlene Meyers on Feb. 22, 1958, in New York.
Mr. Baier served in the Navy from 1952 to 1975, achieving the rank of lieutenant commander. He received a Navy Commendation Medal with Combat "V."
He retired as the executive director of the Port of Anacortes.
He was a member of Holy Trinity Church in Bremerton, the Washington Public Ports Association and the Retired Officer's Association.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Gregory and Mark, both of Spokane; two daughters, Diane Cobain and Suzanne Baier, both of Bremerton; two brothers, Henry of Menomonie and Richard of Elmwood, Wis.; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene.
A funeral service was held Oct. 28 in Eau Galle, Wis. Interment
took place at St. Henry's Catholic Church cemetery in Eau Galle. Arrangements were under the direction of Stanton-Goodrich-Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie.
Enid Bean
Enid Waterman Bean, 77, of Bremerton died of natural causes Nov. 11, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born April 12, 1923, in Kenilworth, Utah, to Cecil and Branche (Grange) Waterman. She graduated from Carbon High School in Price, Utah, in 1941.
She married
William Joseph Bean in Salt Lake City on Feb. 25, 1944.
She was a homemaker and an administrative assistant with Bremerton School District, from which she retired.
She enjoyed swimming, and was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and the Business and Professional Women.
She is survived by her husband in Bremerton; four sons, William of Forest Grove, Ore., Phillip of Bremerton, David of Poulsbo and Douglas of Port Orchard; a daughter, Jeanette Warner of Lawson, Mo.; three sisters, Jean Madsen of Bountiful, Utah, Maurine Craig of Price and Elaine Burgener of Provo, Utah; 18 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Her sister, Florine Waterman, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 6:30 to 8:30 tonight at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A graveside service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard, with a memorial service to follow at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Latter Day Saints church on Nels Nelson Road in Central Kitsap.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Eula Maxwell
Eula Jane Maxwell, 79, of Belfair died Nov. 9, 2000, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
She was born March 30, 1921, in Porter to Robert and Rena (Ray) Cox.
She graduated from Oakville High School in Oakville in 1939.
She married
Benton Jewell on June 12, 1940. He died in 1963. She then married
John Maxwell in Reno, Nev., on Dec. 21, 1979.
She lived in Belfair the past 14 years. She enjoyed crocheting.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Richard Jewell of Reno and Rodney Jewell of Belfair; a daughter, Sharon Tangen of Crescent City, Calif.; a sister, Neva Walters of Belfair; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton. Cremation will follow at the Cherry Grove Crematory in North Kitsap.

Walter Blank
Walter P. Blank, 83, died of natural causes Nov. 11, 2000, in Port Orchard.
He was born April 12, 1917, in Voezco, Germany, to Franz and Ida (Kleinschmidt) Blank.
On Aug. 7, 1943, he married
Hilda Pront in Bunde, Germany.
Mr. Blank was a cabinet maker for the Anaheim School District for 20 years, and retired in 1982.
He enjoyed watchmaking and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of the family home, a son, Hans of Trabuco Canyon, Calif.; two daughters, Margaret Perea of Anaheim and Eda Snodgrass of Port Orchard; a brother, Gunter of Langhagen, Germany; two sisters, Elli Rutsatz and Elfride Horn of Munster, Germany; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his brother Hans.
Private visitation will be at the Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Harper Evangelical Free Church in South Kitsap.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Rill Chapel, Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.
Eula Maxwell

Margaret Kurth
Margaret Kurth, 96, of Silverdale and formerly of Port Townsend died Nov. 7, 2000, at Crista Shores in Silverdale.
She was born Aug. 7, 1904, in Republic, Mich., to Arthur and Caesarene (VanDam) Smet. She attended Brown's Business College in Moline, Ill.
She was a secretary for Lockheed for more than 16 years, retiring in 1968.
She enjoyed traveling. She was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, Glenn Sharp of Silverdale; a sister, Evelyn Coussens of Moline; a brother, John Smet of Moline; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Norman Kurth, in 1954.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church. Cremation is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Patrick Clemans
Patrick Otis Clemans, 49, of Bremerton died Nov. 4, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born Dec. 5, 1950, in McCook, Neb., to Jessie and Ralph Clemans. He graduated from the University of Washington.
He married
Caroline in Waterton Park, Canada, in 1998.
Mr. Clemans worked for Alaska Pipeline as a surveyor and civil engineer. He then was a GIS manager at Concurrent Technologies Corporation in Bremerton.
He enjoyed camping and hiking.
He is survived by his wife; his mother; a stepdaughter, Lael Berner; and two brothers, Michael of Elko, Nev., and Randy of Missoula, Mont.
A celebration of his life will be held today at the Clemans home in Polson, Mont.

Frank Pfeiffer
Frank Pfeiffer, 79, of Seabeck died of cancer
Nov. 7, 2000, at his home.
He was born Feb. 26, 1921, in Hirschville, N.D., to Franz and Anna (Nuber) Pfeiffer. He attended high school in Hirschville.
Mr. Pfeiffer served in the Army Signal Corps from 1944 to 1946, achieving the rank of private.
He married
Delma Stilwill on Aug. 5, 1950, in Bremerton.
He worked at Service Fuel Company in Bremerton for 37 years, retiring in 1983.
Mr. Pfeiffer enjoyed gardening and fishing with his family. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Bremerton.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Tom of Lake Havasu, Ariz., and Richard and Paul, both of Bremerton; a daughter, Marsha Wirtanen of Silverdale; two sisters, Catherine Tormaschy of Dickenson, N.D., and Eva Clark of Centralia; 10 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Jon and David; three brothers, Martin, Peter and Joseph; and three sisters, Betty Tormaschy, Margaret Arnold and Anna Dieble.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Nov. 18 at First United Methodist Church in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
