Frank Drake
Frank E. Drake, 82, of Bremerton died Nov. 6, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 1, 1918, in Burley to Ellery and Alma (Nelson) Drake. He graduated in 1936 from Bremerton High School.
He married
Laura Lund on Jan. 15, 1939, in Olympia.
Mr. Drake served in the Army Air Force from 1944 to 1946, and from 1950 to 1951. He achieved the rank of corporal.
He worked at the Naval Ammunition Depot at the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor for 35 years, retiring as a general foreman in 1973.
Mr. Drake enjoyed round dancing and hunting.
His survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry of Bremerton and Ron of Allyn; a sister, Violet Steinshouer of Anaheim, Calif.; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dora Leier.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at the Elks Club in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Janet Williams
Janet J. Williams, 76, of Grapeview died of cancer Nov. 3, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Oct. 29, 1924, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to John K. and Esther (Thorne) Jackson. She graduated from the University of Washington.
She married
William Williams on Oct. 24, 1946, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She worked in administration at the University of Washington Hospital for 15 years, retiring in 1976. After her retirement, she worked for Northwest Demo Services, primarily at the QFC grocery store in Belfair.
She was a member of the Mason Benson Community Club.
Survivors include three sons, Michael of Seattle, David of Grapeview and Steven of Olympia; a daughter, Laurie Howard of Hoquiam; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Mason Benson Community Club, 5971 Mason Lake Drive West in Grapeview. Inurnment will be at the Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of McComb Funeral Home in Shelton.
Anna Ehlers
Anna M. Ehlers, 94, of Port Orchard died of natural causes
Nov. 8, 2000, in Port Orchard.
She was born April 9, 1906, in Amot, Norway, to Torger and Andrea (Moen) Sorensen. She attended school in Norway.
She married
Carl T. Ehlers on Sept. 17, 1937, in Port Orchard. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Mrs. Ehlers was a homemaker and a member of the Lutheran church.
Her survivors include two nephews, Stanley and Ronald Holm, both of Spokane; two nieces, Audrey Holm of Spokane and Viola Randolph of Hoquiam; and three great-nephews. She also also preceded in death by a sister, Gunda Holm; and by four brothers, Ray and Ted Ehlers, and John and Jens Myhre.
No services are scheduled. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Morris Kaupanger
Morris Kaupanger, 76, of Poulsbo died Nov. 7, 2000, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born Oct. 31, 1924, in Kelliher, Minn., to Marinus and Ida (Anderson) Kaupanger. He graduated in 1948 from Mount Shasta High School in Mount Shasta, Calif., and in 1950 from San Francisco City College.
Mr. Kaupanger served with the Navy Seabees from 1943 to 1946.
He married
Helen Sollie on Dec. 31, 1960, in Canby, Ore.
Mr. Kaupanger was a quality assurance engineer for 32 years with Lockheed Missile in Santa Cruz, Calif., and at the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor. He retired in 1991.
He was a member of Toastmasters and the Lutheran Brotherhood, Fraternal Branch. He also was a member of First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Paul of Fresno, Calif., and Peter of Poulsbo; two daughters, Sallie Adams of Colorado Springs, Colo., and Joy Le of Poulsbo; one sister; four brothers; and three granddaughters. He was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo, with inurnment at the First Lutheran Church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Petie Johnson
Thankful Martha "Petie" Johnson, 80, of Bremerton died Nov. 7, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born June 24, 1920, in Deering, N.D., to Charles and Martha (Grilley) Allen. She graduated in 1938 from Deering High School and in 1950 from Moeller Barber College in Bremerton.
She married
Robert R. Johnson on Oct. 8, 1938, in Towner, N.D. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. Johnson was a barber and barber instructor for eight years, retiring in 1958.
She enjoyed needlework and gardening.
Survivors include a son, Vern of Port Orchard; a sister, Harriet Fitzpatrick of North Dakota; six grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a son, Allan R. Johnson; a brother, Bill Allen; and three sisters, Marge Sisson, Edna Rodgers and Minetta Allen.
No services are planned. Inurnment is under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Charles McColly
Charles J. McColly, 81, of Poulsbo died of cancer
Nov. 5, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Jan. 28, 1919, in Bucyrus, Ohio, to Charley and Viletta (Ruoff) McColly. He graduated from high school in Harvey, Ill.
Mr. McColly served in the Army Air Corps from 1942 to 1945, and from 1949 to 1952. He achieved the rank of staff sergeant.
He married
Hilda "Peggy" Harrington on May 6, 1944, in Blackpool, England.
Mr. McColly was a civilian field representative for the United States Army Missile Command Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Ala., for about 29 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a member of the Poulsbo Lions Club and enjoyed golfing. He also was a member of First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo.
He is survived by his wife; and a son, Martin of Poulsbo.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel, with cremation at Cherry Grove.

Helen Peterson
Helen June Peterson, 73, of Poulsbo died Nov. 4, 2000, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
She was born June 12, 1927, in Perly, Minn., to Peter and Borghild (Sorenson) Titterness. She attended school in Poulsbo.
She married
Elwood Peterson on June 22, 1945, in Bremerton.
Mrs. Peterson was a homemaker and enjoyed bowling and Hardanger (embroidery).
Survivors include her husband; a son, Ken of Poulsbo; a daughter, Linda Neely of Oroville, Calif.; a brother, Duane Titterness of Poulsbo; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Larry; and by brothers, Lilleburg, Otto, Peter and Arlo Titterness.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday, also at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel, with interment at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
Beatrice Davis
Beatrice Mary Davis, 58, of Bremerton died Nov. 3, 2000, at her home.
She was born April 7, 1942, in North Vancouver, British Columbia, to Frederick and Mary (Foster) Wilson. She attended North Vancouver High School.
She married
Earl N. Davis on July 1, 1972, in Honolulu.
Mrs. Davis was a homemaker. She enjoyed bowling with the LERA mixed league and the Tuesday Morning All Stars. She also was a member of the Presbyterian church.
Survivors include her husband; and two daughters, Elizabeth "Molly" Davis and Catherine Davis, both of Seattle.
A gathering for family and friends is planned for
1 to 4 p.m. Nov. 18 at the family home. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel, with cremation at Cherry Grove.

Trudy Limric
Gertrude Lee "Trudy" Limric, 79, of Poulsbo died of cancer Oct. 27, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born July 9, 1921, in Longton, Kan., to Pirl and Mary (Johnson) Martin.
She married
Robert A. Limric in 1943, in Monterey, Calif. He preceded her in death in 1966.
Mrs. Limric was an antique dealer, retiring in 1998. She was a member of PEO and the Order of the Eastern Star.
Survivors include a son, Norman of Poulsbo; two daughters, Robin Kishpaugh and Virginia Limric Page, both of Poulsbo; two sisters, Jean Stafford of Radclyf, Ky., and Bobbie Bowman of Wichita, Kan.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Bill, Norman and Elred Martin; and by six sisters, June Martin, Pauline Bryant, Marguerite Tout, Nadine Penfield, Zeda Miller and Farrel Finley; and by two grandsons.
Memorial services are planned for 2 p.m. Saturday at Central Kitsap Presbyterian Church in Silverdale, and for 2 p.m. Nov. 30 at First Methodist Church in Hollister, Calif. A graveside service will be held in the spring to inter her ashes next to her husband in Longton.
Betty Godfrey
Betty Lou Godfrey, 64, of Hansville, died of cancer Nov. 6, 2000, in Hansville.
She was born Feb. 2, 1936, in Carlisle, Ken., to William and Dorothy (Rogers) Hartley. She graduated in 1953 from Issaquah High School.
She married
Thomas M. Godfrey on Feb. 7, 1954, in Issaquah.
Mrs. Godfrey worked 18 years at the Issaquah Post Office and six years at the Bainbridge Island Post Office.
She was a member of the Issaquah Alumni Association and the Issaquah Eagles Women's Auxiliary 3054.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Steven of Vancouver, Wash., Thomas of Renton and T. Scott of North Bend; a daughter, Lucinda Perez of Renton; two brothers, William Hartley of Harrison, Idaho, and Russell Munson of Huntington Beach, Calif.; two sisters, Ella Dale of Issaquah and Virginia Hendricks of Union; and nine grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. today at Flintoft's Issaquah Funeral Home.
