Bob Peak Jr.
Former Bremerton resident Herbert B. "Bob" Peak Jr., 81, of Casey, Ill., died of natural causes Oct. 23, 2000, in Terre Haute, Ind.
He was born Jan. 24, 1919, in Loveland, Colo., to Herbert B. and Nellie (Puntney) Peak. He attended the University of Washington and the University of Oregon.
He married
Elizabeth L. Jones on Jan. 12, 1941, in Bremerton.
Mr. Peak served in the Army from 1944 to 1946, and from 1951, until retiring in 1971, achieving the rank of commander. His military honors included the World War II Victory Medal and a Bronze Star.
He was a member of Casey Masonic Lodge 442 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 5762 in Casey.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jenny Ellexson of Casey; a sister, Gertrude Beckner of Bremerton; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert, in 1942; two sisters, Jacqlin and Ruth; two half-brothers, Ed and Lyle; and a half-sister, Edna Barager.
A funeral service is planned for 7 p.m. today at Markwell Funeral Home in Casey.

Louie Pascual
Louie D. Pascual, 66, of Silverdale died Oct. 22, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born June 27, 1934, in San Jose, Nueva Ecija, the Philippines, to Antonio and Timotea (Dimalanta) Pascual.
He married
Florentia Ramiscal.
Mr. Pascual had worked as a security guard, primarily in Honolulu. He retired in 1996.
He enjoyed gardening and singing. He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Rod of Silverdale and Edgar of Waipahu, Hawaii; a daughter, Mildred Edrozo of San Jose, Philippines; three sisters, Arsenia Domingo of the Philippines, Juliana Wong of Daly City, Calif., and Gaurdencia Oreas of San Diego; three brothers, Gil of San Francisco, Ernesto of Milton, Fla., and Victorino of the Philippines; and 10 grandchildren.
Visitation was held Tuesday and Wednesday
at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be held in the Philippines, with interment at Sanctuario
de Santo Nino in San Jose, Nueva Ecija, the Philippines.
Diana Gebert
Diana Lee Gebert, 50, of Silverdale died of cancer Oct. 25, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born June 24, 1950, in Seattle to Antone "Tony" and Connie Walloch. She graduated in 1968 from Curtis High School in University Place, attended the University of Washington and graduated in 1975 from Purdue University in Lafayette, Ind.
She married
David Gebert on Aug. 27, 1971, in Seattle.
Survivors include her husband; her parents of Las Vegas; a son, Ben of Silverdale; two daughters, Erin and Kate, both of Silverdale; a brother, Steve Walloch; and a sister, Pam Beard of Gig Harbor.
A private service will be held.
Georgia Clark
Georgia Diane Clark, 61, of Belfair died of heart failure Oct. 22, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 16, 1939, in Independence, Kan., to Thomas E. and Margurett W. (Tull) Fain. She graduated in 1958 from Bremerton High School.
She married
Richard G. Clark on Aug. 11, 1990.
She was a teaching assistant for 19 years, retiring in 1998.
She was a member of North Mason Eagles 4226 and enjoyed crafts.
Survivors include her husband; her mother of Bremerton; two sons, Kenneth Woods and Richard Clark, both of Seattle; two daughters, Terri Lien and Cheryl Alexander, both of Seattle; a sister, Deborah Huson of Belfair; and one grandchild. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Jim and Alan Fain.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at Belfair Community Baptist Church, followed by a reception at North Mason Eagles 4226. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Jack Hazen
John "Jack" Watson Hazen, 85, of Bremerton died of diabetic complications Oct. 22, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 21, 1915, in Holdingford, Minn., to John Crandall and Alice Mary (Arno) Hazen.
He married
Sara Rose Bashara on July 4, 1946, in Houston.
Mr. Hazen served in the Army during World War II. He was honored with four Bronze Stars and a victory ribbon.
He worked most of his life in sales, owning several businesses. He also made many flavors of fudge for the family business, Miss Mamie's Candy Co., in Bremerton, becoming known as "The Candy Man."
He designed jewelry for more than 50 years.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, John II of Glenwood Springs, Colo., and Herb of Jackson, Wyo.; a daughter, Rosemary Adkins of Bremerton; a brother, Lee of Texas; a sister, Helen Cooperman of Illinois; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A private memorial service will be held. Arrangements are under
the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Darlene Simmons
Darlene Louise Simmons, 57, of Bremerton died Oct. 20, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Sept. 3, 1943, in San Diego to Theodore and Ethel (Moore) Wolfe. She graduated in 1961 from Hoover High School in San Diego.
She married
Robert "Bob" Simmons on Jan. 6, 1962, in San Diego.
She was a pharmacist technician. She enjoyed gardening and her family.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Tracy Barrera of Houston, and Shari Reason of Bremerton; two sisters, Sue Bennett of Northridge, Calif., and Shelly Wolfe of Los Angeles; two brothers, Gary Wolfe of Los Angeles, and Stephen Mullins; and six grandchildren.
At her request, no service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel, with cremation at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
Carl Munson
Carl A. Munson, 87, of Port Orchard died of natural causes Oct. 15, 2000, in Port Orchard.
He was born June 25, 1913, in Rifle, Colo., to Carl A. and Anna H. (Mark) Munson. He graduated from Bremerton Union High School and attended the University of Washington.
He married
Violet L. Davis on Sept. 23, 1939, in Olympia. She preceded him in death in 1998.
Mr. Munson served in the Army during World War II. He later worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 39 years, retiring as a production controller in 1971.
He enjoyed boating and traveling by trailer.
Survivors include a son, Terry of Port Orchard; two daughters, Virginia Scott of Bremerton and Lynn Hunt of Port Orchard; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by a brother, Earl, and a sister, Ellen.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel, with inurnment at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
Victor Monis
Victor R. Monis, 88, of Bremerton and formerly of Hawaii, died Oct. 20, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born March 20, 1912, in Bangar, La Union, Philippines. He graduated from high school in the Philippines.
He married
Aurea Abad in 1939 in Baguio City, Philippines.
He attended the Engineering School of the University of the Philippines and became the assistant superintendent of Baguio City Telephone Systems, retiring in 1980 after 40 years.
His interests included carpentry and hunting.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Leovigildo of Bremerton and Efren of Portsmouth, Va.; a daughter, Grace Monis-Decena of Sunnyvale, Calif.; and 12 grandchildren.
Visitation will be 5 to 8 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Visitation will also be at noon Wednesday, preceding a 1 p.m. funeral Mass at Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Pine Road in Bremerton. Interment
will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Alice Gastineau
Alice M. Gastineau, 92, of Poulsbo died Oct. 21, 2000, in Poulsbo.
She was born May 1, 1908, in Poulsbo to Chris and Trina (Guldjord) Haugen. She attended high school in Poulsbo and business college in Seattle.
She married
Alfred C. Gastineau on Aug. 30, 1928, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She was a member of a garden club and Hannah Circle. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Williams of Reno, Nev.; a sister, Gladys Dahl of Poulsbo; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Agnes, Lily and Esther, and by a brother, William.
A memorial service is at 1 p.m. today at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Raymond Mears
Raymond Monroe Mears, 76, of Bremerton died Oct. 20, 2000, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center of heart failure.
He was born Dec. 2, 1923, in Knox, N.D., to Alec and Lydia (Larson) Mears. He was educated in Knox.
He served in the Navy during World War II.
He married
Irene Stenson on July 25, 1949, in Knox. She preceded him in death in 1990.
Mr. Mears had worked as a mechanic and bus driver for the Bremerton/Charleston Transit Company (now Kitsap Transit).
He was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 239 and Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, Jerome of Bremerton; three daughters, Charlotte Coles of Black Diamond, Barbara Nelson of Bremerton and Deann Morello of Silverdale; three sisters, Doris Witter of Everett, Lucille Miltonberger of Carson City, Nev., and Lois Tuff of North Dakota; a brother, Tarris, of Milwaukee, Ore.; six grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by a son, John, in 1997.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with an inurnment service following at Forest Lawn cemetery. Cremation is under the direction of Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
