Neoma Kyte
Neoma W. Kyte, 62, of Tacoma and formerly of Port Orchard, died Oct. 15, 2000, at her home of cancer.
She was born Dec. 16, 1937, in Buena Vista, Wis.
She married
Kenneth Kyte on Feb. 24, 1984, in Hood River, Ore.
She had worked as an apartment manager for 12 years, retiring this year.
She enjoyed flying kites and being with her family.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, Inza Barrett of Goldendale; two sons, Kevin Yeley of Greenville, Ohio, and Brent Yeley of Palm Desert, Calif.; two daughters, Dawn Lattimore of Goldendale and Corky Trent of Port Orchard; a brother, Dale Thiele of Goldendale; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Thiele.
A graveside service and inurnment will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Klickitat County cemetery in White Salmon.
Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Tacoma or to the American Cancer Society.
C.C. Downey III
Cairn "C.C." Downey III, 73, of Olympia and formerly of Port Orchard, died Oct. 19, 2000, at Providence Mother Joseph Care Center in Olympia.
He was born Nov. 21, 1926, in Long Island, N.Y., to Cairn and Mary (Byrd) Downey II.
Mr. Downey served in the Navy during World War II.
He married
Jacqueline Davis on Feb. 17, 1956, in Seattle.
Mr. Downey had worked as an electronic mechanic at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 31 years, retiring in 1986.
He enjoyed sports and the outdoors. He was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Olympia.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Leigh Snyder of Port Orchard and Patricia Downey of Olympia; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel, with inurnment at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Lung Association.
Bob McDonald
Robert "Bob" McDonald, 56, of Poulsbo, died Oct. 21, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 25, 1944, in San Bernardino, Calif., to Robert W. and Mary (Tipping) McDonald. He graduated from Pacific High School in San Bernardino in 1962 and from California State Polytechnic College in San Luis Obispo in 1966.
He married
Susan Preston on July 1, 1967, in La Canada, Calif.
Mr. McDonald enjoyed fine woodworking. He was a member of Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, of Scottsdale, Ariz.; a son, Eric, of Chandler, Ariz.; two daughters, Lori of Sioux Center, Iowa, and Molly of Poulsbo; and two sisters, Chris Gonyea of Shakopee, Minn., and K.C. Deutschlander of Brianhead, Utah.
A memorial service is planned for 2:30 p.m. Wednesday at Christ Memorial Church, with private interment at Poulsbo City cemetery.
Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Nell O'Brien
Nell O'Brien, 84, of Kingston, died Oct. 23, 2000, in Poulsbo.
She was born March 23, 1916, in Gilby, N.D., to George and Tina Bagley. She graduated from Gilby High School and from the Teachers College of North Dakota.
She married
Vincent O'Brien on July 6, 1941. He died in 1980.
She volunteered her time to the community and enjoyed spending time with her family. She was a member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include a son, John of Kingston; four daughters, Nancy McDonald of Edmonds, Catherine Short of Sammamish, Jane Woodward of Indianola and Mary Bruce of Albuquerque, N.M.; a brother, Gordon Bagley of Everett; seven grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a son, David, and by a granddaughter.
A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, with interment at Kingston cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Deborah Shaddox
Deborah Ann Shaddox, 50, of Bremerton, died Oct. 22, 2000.
She was born May 24, 1950, in Hood River, Ore., to Elmer and Margaret Thomas.
She married
David Shaddox on Sept. 9, 1976, in Reno, Nev.
She enjoyed music and writing children's stories.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, John Smith and Joshua Shaddox; two daughters, Jennifer Cudmore and Jessica Smith; a stepson, Anthony Shaddox; and two stepdaughters, Susan Martin and Virginia Carpenter.
A memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. Thursday at Burley Bible Church on Olympic Drive in Burley.
Alice Newhouse
Alice Nellie Newhouse, 61, of Silverdale died Oct. 21, 2000, at Harrison Hospital of cancer.
She was born March 22, 1939, in St. Louis, Mo., to Floyd E. and Genevieve C. (Schaefer) Smith. She graduated from Holy Names Academy in Spokane in 1957.
She married
Joseph L. Newhouse on Feb. 20, 1960, in Spokane.
She had worked several years for Catholic Community Services in Bremerton, retiring in June of this year.
She enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church on Pine Road in Bremerton.
Survivors include her husband; her mother, of Poulsbo; three sons, Joseph of Seabeck, Michael of Port Orchard and Keith of Silverdale; a brother, Joseph Smith of St. Helens, Ore.; three sisters, Gloria Boyd of Poulsbo, Michele Zalar of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sandra Brown of Marysville; and two grandchildren.
A requiem Mass will be celebrated at 1 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.

Barbara Graham
Barbara A. Graham, 72, of Bremerton, died Oct. 19, 2000, at Harrison Hospital of leukemia.
She was born July 29, 1928, in Bremerton, to James and Birdie Ann (Reynolds) Darling.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed crafts and gardening. She was a member of Neighborhood Christian Center in Bremerton.
Survivors include two brothers, James and Eugene Darling, both of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Graham, and by a son, Leonard Lian.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Kirk Halvorson
Kirk Alan Halvorson, 31, formerly of Silverdale, died Oct. 13, 2000, at his home in Elk.
He was born Oct. 17, 1968, in Spokane to Harvey E. and Marilyn "Lyn" Halvorson.
He attended Central Kitsap High School, The Evergreen State College and was attending college in the Spokane area.
He had worked at Puget Sound Naval Ship-yard as a radiological control technician. He was a member of Silverdale Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his parents; a brother, Eric; and a sister, Kaarin.
Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane. A memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at Silverdale Lutheran Church.

Ronald Olson
Ronald Glen Olson, 40, of Gustavus, Alaska, died Oct. 18, 2000, in Poulsbo of lumbar pneumonia.
He was born Aug. 18, 1960, in Juneau, Alaska, to Leonard and Genevieve (White) Olson. He graduated from high school in Poulsbo.
Mr. Olson worked as a commercial crab fisherman.
He enjoyed playing pool and sport fishing.
Survivors include his father of Poulsbo; and a brother, Ernest Olson of Poulsbo.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Breidablick Community Hall in Poulsbo. Interment
will take place at Breidablick cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Orvel Pittser Jr.
Former Port Orchard resident Orvel Pittser Jr., 52, of Mountainburg, Ark., died Oct. 19, 2000, in Fort Smith, Ark., of natural causes.
He was born July 9, 1948, in Cleveland, Okla., to Betty Faye (Harrison) Pittser.
He served in the Navy from 1967 to 1969.
Mr. Pittser worked at The Boeing Company for 19 years.
He was a member of Victorious Life Ministry in Alma, Ark.
He is survived by his wife, Ruth (Sanders) Pittser of Mountainburg; his father, Melvin Dutton of Alma; his first wife, Kathryn Pittser of Port Orchard; a stepson, Sean Christenberry of Oklahoma; a daughter, Tina Melius of Mulberry, Ark.; a stepdaughter, Tinika Lupton of Oklahoma City; two brothers, Jimmy Pittser of Rudy, Ark., and Calvin Dutton of Alma, Ark.; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Dutton; and a brother, Paul Pittser.
Visitation is scheduled from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at Ocker Funeral Home in Alma, Ark. A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at Victorious Life Ministries. Interment
will take place at Gregory cemetery in Alma.
Ruth Damschen
Ruth Marie Damschen, 71, of Poulsbo, died Oct. 18, 2000, at Tacoma General Hospital.
She was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Havre, Mont., to William and Hilda (Christianson) Keene.
She married
Richard "Dick" Damschen on July 27, 1946, in Havre. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Damschen worked as a waitress at the XXX Drive-in and was a hostess and senior waitress at Olympic Restaurant for 15 years.
She enjoyed bowling and crocheting.
Survivors include four sons, Robert McGraw of Tucson, Ariz., Gary Damschen of Columbia Falls, Mont., William Damschen of Bremerton and Jaimie Damschen of Hungry Horse, Mont.; three daughters, Alana Wooland Dalesky of Tacoma, Jacqueline Widman of Poulsbo and Ginny Damschen of Townsend, Mont.; two sisters, Helen Kastella of White Fish, Mont., and Beverly Winterrowd of Mesquite, Nev.; 13 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Damschen Jr.; and three sisters, Sylvia, Evelyn and Mary.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, "The Stone Chapel."
