Marvin Haydon
Marvin H. Haydon, 80, of Grapeview, died of natural causes Oct. 17, 2000, at Firlane Health and Rehabilitation Center in Shelton.
He was born Aug. 6, 1920, in Tacoma, to Harold and Mary (Hampton) Haydon. He graduated from South Kitsap High School.
He married
Winifred Thomas on Feb. 28, 1943, in Seattle.
Mr. Haydon served in the Navy from 1943 to 1946, achieving the rank of machinist's mate, third class.
He worked as a nuclear machinist at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 34 years, retiring in 1972.
Mr. Haydon was a member of the Masons and the Eagles.
He is survived by his wife of Grapeview; two sons, Terry Haydon of Corvalis, Ore., and Steven Haydon of Shelton; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Bryan Haydon, in 1998.
Arrangements are under the direction of Forest Funeral Home of Shelton.
Clarence Newman Jr.
Clarence Newman Jr., 64, of Poulsbo died Oct. 17, 2000, at his home.
He was born Jan. 4, 1936, in Madison, Wis., to Clarence and Velma (Newell) Newman. He graduated from Auburn High School in 1955.
He married
Bonnie Eisele on Oct. 12, 1958, in Hinsdale, Ill.
Mr. Newman worked for 26 years at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. Following his retirement in 1993, he owned C&B Striping.
He enjoyed competing in table tennis and playing in the PSNS baseball league. He was a member of the Seventh-Day Adventist Church.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Clarence S. of Everett, Roland of Poulsbo and Mike of Seattle; a daughter, Pamela Newman of Poulsbo; two sisters, Sharon Snell of Port Orchard and Juanita McVay of Las Vegas; a brother, David of Silverdale; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday at the Seventh-Day Adventist Church in Poulsbo. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Grace Bickhart
Mary "Grace" Bickhart, 81, of Bremerton died
Oct. 13, 2000, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born Feb. 28, 1919, in Cederidge, Colo., to George and Clara Conway. She graduated from Montebello High School in Montebello, Calif., and from Life Bible College in Los Angeles.
She married
Edward C. Bickhart on May 22, 1941, in Los Angeles.
Mrs. Bickhart was a minister in Colorado and a cook for the school district in Montebello.
She enjoyed her family and traveling.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Molly Wooley of Bremerton; a sister, Bula Gabbard of California; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, John.
A memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. today at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
Betty Warwick
Former Bremerton resident Betty Mae Warwick, 70, of Conrad, Mont., died of natural causes Sept. 29, 2000, at Great Falls Hospital in Montana.
She was born
Jan. 24, 1930, in Black Diamond to Albert E. and Gertrude (Brezee) Robinson. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1947.
She married
Loren Warwick on Sept. 10, 1949, in Conrad. He preceded her in death in 1994.
They had owned a grain farm near Conrad.
Mrs. Warwick was a member of Conrad Presbyterian Church, Victory Chapter 86 Order Eastern Star and Daughters of the Nile.
She is survived by three sons, Ronald of Conrad, Taylor of Denver and Brad of Great Falls; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Eugene Robinson; and a sister, Gerry Butler.
A memorial service was held Oct. 5 in Conrad. Arrangements were under the direction of Pondera Funeral Home of Conrad.

Patrick Reeves
Patrick J. Reeves, 62, of Port Orchard died Oct. 17, 2000, at his home.
He was born Feb. 11, 1938, in Salina, Kan., to Virgil and Stella Reeves.
He married
Louise Hess on Aug. 11, 1976, in Reno, Nev.
Mr. Reeves served in the Navy for three years.
He was a truck driver for Bekins Moving Company and a pipefitter for Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1991.
Mr. Reeves enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Cheryel Matthews of Paducah, Ky., and Terena Hayett of Payette, Idaho; three brothers, Charlie of Oregon, Buck of Arizona and Dudley of California; four sisters, Betty and Polly, both of California, and Emma Lee and Geneva, both of Nevada; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard; and a sister, Evelyn.
Services will be held at a later date. Inurnment will take place at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Spencer Anderson
Spencer Sigfrid Anderson, 57, of Tacoma died following an automobile accident Sept. 14, 2000, in Lamar, Colo.
He was born Feb. 20, 1943, in Bremerton, to Elmer and Margaret (McInnis) Anderson. He graduated from West High School in Bremerton in 1961, Olympic College and the University of Washington in 1968.
He married
Carriebelle Wilson on Sept. 11, 1965, in Seattle.
Mr. Anderson worked as an elementary school teacher for 15 years and a junior high teacher for 10 years, retiring in 1993.
He enjoyed traveling and woodcarving. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Gavin of Memphis, Tenn., and John, Matthew and Eric, all of Tacoma; a daughter, Edie Anderson of Tacoma; two sisters, Janet Hayford and Peggy Wood, both of Bremerton; and two grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Carlene Anderson; and a sister, Evy Anderson.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday at Central Baptist Church in University Place. A funeral service will follow. A graveside service is planned for noon Monday at Mountain View cemetery in Lakewood. Arrangements are under the direction of Dryer's Mortuary.
Kenneth Ray
Former Bremerton resident Kenneth F. Ray, 80, of Longview died Oct. 15, 2000, at Community Home Health and Hospice in Longview.
He was born Nov. 3, 1919, in Wenatchee to John F. and Ruby (Schoch) Ray. He graduated from Wenatchee High School and from the U.S. Maritime Academy in Alameda, Calif.
He married
Bess L. Ames on Dec. 29, 1941.
Mr. Ray was a lieutenant second engineer in the U.S. Maritime Army Transport Service during World War II.
He later was a Darigold milkman at Kitsap Dairy for more than 20 years, retiring in 1979.
Mr. Ray enjoyed bowling and golfing. He was a member of First Christian Church in Longview.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Kenneth L. of Bremerton; a daughter, Teresa M. Ray of Everett; four grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Harlan Gene, in 1998.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Sunday at First Christian Church in Longview. Arrangements are under the direction of Dahls Funeral Home of Longview.

Patricia Ishibashi
Patricia A. Ishibashi, 48, of Bremerton died Oct. 16, 2000, at her home.
She was born Nov. 11, 1951. She married
Gary D. Ishibashi on March 7, 1983, in Port Orchard.
A homemaker, she had served in the Navy from 1978 to 1984.
She is survived by her husband.
A private service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Anna Strobel
Anna M. Strobel, 82, of Port Orchard died Oct. 17, 2000, at Orchard Pointe Specialty Care Community in Port Orchard.
She was born July 17, 1918, in Lebanon, Kan., to William and Bernice (Jones) Bozarth.
She married
Herbert Strobel in 1942, in Denver. He preceded her in death in 1967.
Mrs. Strobel had been a bartender at local establishments, including the Hearthstone, the Beachcomber, the Elks, VIP's and the officer's club at Naval Station Bremerton. She retired in 1976.
She was a member of the Peninsula Pacers CB Club and enjoyed playing golf as a member of the Rolling Hills Women's Club.
Survivors include a son, Floyd "Skip" of Port Orchard; a daughter, Dorothy Moore of Belfair; nine grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by five brothers and six sisters.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel, with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton.

Alexander Bleile
Alexander Bleile, 84, of Bremerton died of heart failure Oct. 16, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 13, 1916, in Morton County, N.D., to Joseph and Magdalena (Kletzel) Bleile.
He married
Magdalena Woroniecki on June 6, 1938, in Hebron, N.D. She preceded him in death in 1989.
Mr. Bleile was a diesel mechanic for many years with the Erie Mining Company in Aurora, Minn., and was a member of the United Steelworkers of America. He retired in 1978.
He enjoyed fishing and traveling. He was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, Francis of Stephenson, Mich.; a daughter, Amy Marthaller of Dickinson, N.D.; two sisters, Mary Dion of Auburn and Lena Friez of Anaconda, Mont.; three brothers, George of Anaconda, Martin of Bremerton and Joseph of Sequim; and five grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by two sons, John and Richard; five brothers, John, Peter, Adam, Paul and Valentine; and four sisters, Agnes, Catherine, Helen and Elizabeth.
A memorial service is planned for 10:30 a.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Anaconda, with inurnment following. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
