Deborah Pigott
Deborah Marie Pigott, 43, of Belfair died of a brain hemorrhage Aug. 25, 2000, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle.
She was born Oct. 7, 1956, in Sacramento, Calif., to Noel and Kay Bloom. She graduated from high school in Davis, Calif., and from the University of California at Berkeley in 1983.
She married
Jack Pigott on May 7, 1983, in Tijuana, Mexico.
Mrs. Piggott was a member of the Protestant church, the Alumni Association of UCB and a charter member of the Peninsula Council of the Blind.
She is survived by her husband; her mother and stepfather, Kay and Jim Golding; her stepmother, Jeannie Bloom; three brothers, Jim, Todd and Steve Bloom, all of Sacramento; and two sisters, Nola Martin and Julie Romander, both of the Sacramento area. She was preceded in death by her father.
A memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. today at Evergreen Park in Bremerton. A potluck will follow.

Harold Brookbank
Harold Robert Brookbank, 71, of Olalla died Aug. 25, 2000, in Battleground, Ind.
He was born April 27, 1929, in Battleground, Ind., to Byron and Ruth (Cain) Brookbank. He graduated from Lafayette High School in Lafayette, Ind., in 1947.
He married
Beverly Wartman on June 25, 1952, in Springfield, Mass.
Mr. Brookbank served in the Air Force from 1948 to 1952. He later worked as a deputy sheriff for Kitsap County Sheriff's Office, retiring in 1980.
Following his retirement, Mr. Brookbank enjoyed traveling. He was a member of the Olalla Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert of Belfair and David of Olalla; a sister, Maxine Young of Indiana; and seven grandchildren.
A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Forest Lawn cemetery.

William Renshaw
William Wiley Renshaw, 96, of Bremerton died Aug. 24, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Oct. 8, 1903, in Philadelphia, to Clarence and Mary (Wiley) Renshaw. He attended Southern High School in Philadelphia, graduated from William & Mary College in Williamsburg, Va., in 1933, and from the University of Pennsylvania in 1946.
He married
Vivian Caldwell in Williamsburg in 1935. She preceded him in death in 1984.
Mr. Renshaw worked at Mastbaum Vocational Technical School in Philadelphia for 35 years, retiring as principal in 1969.
He enjoyed dogs and historical novels. He was a member of the Episcopal church.
Survivors include a son, William Jr. of Yardley, Pa.; two daughters, Vivian Durfee of Bremerton and Susan Hartzler of Midlothian, Va.; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 7 p.m. Thursday at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 700 Callahan Drive in Bremerton. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park with inurnment in Exton, Pa. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Pearl Roberts
Pearl E. Roberts, 86, of Poulsbo died Aug. 27, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Sept. 30, 1913, in Brownsville to Coty Calvin and Edith May (Clymer) Black.
Ms. Roberts worked at Martha & Mary Nursing Home for six years, retiring in 1975.
She was a member of Central Kitsap Church of Christ and the Cootietts Club. She enjoyed gardening.
Survivors include a son, Dennis Roberts of Brokenbow, Okla.; two sisters, Ruth Painter of Brier, and Minnie Greco of Tacoma; 17 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by seven siblings.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Central Kitsap Church of Christ, 11898 Central Valley Road in Silverdale. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee Funeral Home of Bremerton.

Bernice Schwinkendorf
Bernice Elsie Schwinkendorf, 84, of Bremerton died Aug. 25, 2000, at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale.
She was born April 13, 1916, in New Salem, N.D., to Jacob and Gertrude (Nickel) Kuller. She graduated from Judson High School in Judson, N.D., and from Dickinson Teachers College in Dickinson, N.D.
She married
Carl Schwinkendorf on April 11, 1936, in New Salem. He preceded her in death in 1987.
She taught school in North Dakota and Washington, retiring in 1966.
Mrs. Schwinkendorf was a member of the Protestant church.
Survivors include two sons, Jerry of Denver and Douglas of Wenatchee; two daughters, JoAnn Foote of Bremerton and Luella Ling-Johnson of Sacramento, Calif.; a brother, Willard Kuller of New Salem;
10 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A funeral service is planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Entiat cemetery in Entiat, Wash.

Dorothy Beigh
Dorothy E. Beigh, 74, of Bremerton died of natural causes Aug. 25, 2000, at Northwoods Lodge.
She was born July 19, 1926, in Elma to Donald and Ruby (Taylor) Gordon. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1945.
She married
Donald T. Beigh on Oct. 18, 1947, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Mrs. Beigh worked as an accounting clerk at Bremers Department Store for 20 years, retiring in 1971.
She was a member of Family of God Lutheran Church and the Pinochle and Bunko Club. She enjoyed bowling.
Survivors include a son, William Beigh of Bremerton; two daughters, Kim Avery and Donna Bolz, both of Bremerton; 10 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Joe Howerton
Joe F. Howerton, 82, of Bremerton died following a long illness Aug. 23, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born May 22, 1918, in Leavenworth to Frank and Zerpha (Johnson) Howerton.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring as a supervisor of public work in 1974. Mr. Howerton enjoyed riding motorcycles and spending time with his family. He was a member of Hillcrest Assembly Church.
Survivors include his wife, Charlotte L. (Britton) Howerton; a son, Ron of Puyallup; a daughter, Judy McCune of Kirkland; two brothers, Harry of Wenatchee and Bud of Kingston; a sister, Babe Roesner of Sedro Woolley; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Hillcrest Assembly of God in Bremerton. Interment
will take place at Kingston cemetery.
Michael Poole
Michael John Poole, 58, of Silverdale died of lung cancer Aug. 25, 2000, at his home.
He was born June 23, 1942, in Bremerton to James Clyde and Mable Mae (Blakley) Poole. He graduated in 1961 from South Kitsap High School.
Mr. Poole served in the Navy from 1961 to 1963.
He married
Barbara White on Oct. 29, 1983, in Port Orchard.
Mr. Poole worked in construction for 31 years, retiring in 1999.
He enjoyed hunting and boating.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, John Busey of Seattle, Kelly Busey of Gig Harbor, Michael Dudley of Colorado and Matthew Dudley, serving in Japan with the Air Force; a daughter, Rebecca Werdall of Belfair; two brothers, James of Tracyton and Joe of Port Orchard; five sisters, Shirley Leene and Dorothy Crouch, both of Bremerton, Genie Ehlert of Richland, Mary Sheetz of Oregon and Kathyrn Bisbee of Graham; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Wednesday at the Bremerton Yacht Club. Private interment will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

James Webber
James Gerald Webber, 42, of Bremerton died following a lengthy illness Aug. 22, 2000, at his home.
He was born July 24, 1958, in Chelsea, Mass., to James and Athena (Bezergis) Webber. He graduated in 1976 from St. Patrick's High School in Vallejo, Calif., and in 1988 from the University of Michigan.
He married
Vanir Lopes Da Silva on Nov. 3, 1995, in Austin, Texas.
Mr. Webber was a self-employed metallurgic engineer in the computer industry for six years.
He enjoyed working with computers and remodeling houses. He was a member of the Protestant church.
Survivors include his wife; his mother of Bremerton; a brother, Thomas of San Diego; and two sisters, Susan Christopherson and Christine Thompson, both of Bremerton. He was preceded in death by his father in 1996.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Port Orchard. Cremation will take place at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Thora Aksdal
Thora K. Aksdal, 99, of Bremerton died of natural causes Aug. 19, 2000, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born April 5, 1901, in Etne, Norway, to Thorsten and Anna (Brendeland) Aksdal. She graduated from Framnes-Folke High School and Junior College in Hardanger, Norway, in 1921.
She married
Sten A. Aksdal on Oct. 10, 1925, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1968.
Mrs. Aksdal was a homemaker. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bremerton and the last surviving charter member of the Sons of Norway Oslo Lodge in Bremerton.
Survivors include a son, Arthur of Bremerton; a daughter, Alma Bockelie of Bremerton; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Sept. 1 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Bremerton.

William McDaniel
Former Port Orchard resident William Eugene McDaniel, 33, died Aug. 15, 2000, in Dallas.
He was born June 26, 1967, in Bremerton to Bill and Linda (Carr) McDaniel. He graduated in 1985 from East High School in Forest City, N.C.
He owned a delivery business in Frisco, Texas.
Mr. McDaniel enjoyed computers and artwork.
He is survived by his parents of Port Orchard; two sons, Zachary and Nicolas; three sisters, Debbie LaFountaine of Poulsbo and Connie Medford and Staci McDaniel, both of Mooresboro, N.C.; and a grandmother, Ella Carr of Port Orchard.
A memorial service will take place Friday in McKinney, Texas.
