Jeanette Fregly
Jeanette Fregly, 52, of Poulsbo died Aug. 1, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born April 3, 1948, in Bremerton to Bert and Peggy (Efnor) Fregly. She attended Rainier School in Buckley for 25 years.
Miss Fregly ran in the Special Olympics for Washington state in 1983.
She is survived by her mother and stepfather, Peggy and Robert Lund of Richland; a sister, Patti Weisgerber; and a brother, Dale Lund of Israel.
A graveside service was held Thursday at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Rosemary Gazay
Rosemary Jane Gazay, 66, of Bremerton died of cancer July 7, 2000, at Kelsey Creek Hospice Unit in Bellevue.
She was born April 17, 1934, in St. Ignatius, Mont., to Henry and Marie (Kramer) Klockhammer. She graduated in 1948 from Naches Valley High School in Naches, Wash.
She married
Robert Allen Gazay on April 14, 1953, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Mrs. Gazay co-founded OK's Place in Poulsbo in the early 1970s. She also worked for Domsea Farms.
She enjoyed handicrafts and bingo.
Survivors include two sons, Randy of Bremerton and Robin of Port Orchard; four sisters, Helen, Evelyn, Jan and Linda, all of Yakima; and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud and Bobby Klockhammer.
At her request, there will be no services.

Mary Armstrong
Mary B. Armstrong, 87, of Port Orchard died of natural causes Aug. 1, 2000, at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born Sept. 25, 1912, in Ballston, Ore., to Herbert and Azora (Gregg) Poynter. She graduated in 1931 from Franklin High School in Portland, Ore.
She married
Eugene H. Armstrong on Nov. 28, 1934, in Portland.
Mrs. Armstrong co-owned Gene Armstrong Music for 30 years, retiring in 1976.
She enjoyed ballroom dancing and presenting style shows.
She is survived by her husband; two sons, Eugene H. Jr. of Vaughn and David H. of Port Orchard; a brother, Gene Poynter, of Leavenworth; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Aug. 12 at Haven of Rest in Gig Harbor.

Donald Kimsey
Former South Kitsap resident Donald Raymond Kimsey, 67, of Seattle died July 31, 2000, at First Hill Care Center.
He graduated in 1951 from South Kitsap High School.
Mr. Kimsey served in the Army, achieving the rank of major.
He is survived by three sons, Mark, Jeffrey and John; and a daughter, Patricia Pulliam.
A memorial service is planned for noon Saturday at The Swedish Club, 1920 Dexter Ave. N. in Seattle. Arrangements are under the direction of Bleitz Funeral Home in Seattle.
Harry Lillie Jr.
Harry F. Lillie Jr., 78, of Bremerton died of pancreatic cancer Aug. 1, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 2, 1921, in Seattle to Harry and Thelma Lillie. He graduated from high school in Olalla.
Mr. Lillie served in the Army for four years and the Coast Guard Auxiliary for 36 years.
He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Bremerton Yacht Club.
He is survived by a daughter, Robin Karlberg of Bremerton; a brother, Marvin Lillie of Olalla; and a grandson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Verna (Zink) Lillie.

Robert Caples
Robert Donald Caples, 70, of Port Orchard died of cardiac arrest July 27, 2000, at Madigan Hospital in Fort Lewis.
He was born Aug. 31, 1929, in Astoria, Ore., to Frank and Mildred Caples. He graduated in 1947 from Elmira Union High School in Elmira, Ore.
Mr. Caples served in the Navy from 1947 to 1977, achieving the rank of petty officer second class. He received numerous awards and medals.
He married
Lily Sandra Klein on Dec. 6, 1987, in Port Orchard. She preceded him in death in 1996.
He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles 2338 in Port Orchard and A.B.A.T.E. of Washington.
Survivors include his mother, Mildred Nystrom of Salem, Ore.; a son, John of Bremerton; two daughters, Hazel Podplesky of Columbia, S.C., and Julien Wallace of Bremerton; and 11 grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at Tahoma National cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the alcohol awareness charity of the donor's choice.
Irma Ward
Irma Mildred Ward, 96, of Bremerton died July 29, 2000, in Bremerton.
She was born March 20, 1904, in Boone, Colo., to William and Cora (Smith) Quimby. She attended Carson's Beauty School in Tacoma.
She married
Hugh Ward in January of 1927 in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1966.
Mrs. Ward worked as a beautician at Ward's Marcel Shop in Bremerton for
15 years.
She was a homemaker and enjoyed crocheting baby hats for the hospital.
Survivors include three nieces, Beverly Baldwin of Bremerton, Wanda Wardrip of Eureka, Calif., and Betty Lou Manikinen of Central Point, Ore.; four nephews, Bob Quimby of Shelton, Bill Johnson of Puyallup, Bob Johnson of Camano Island, and Raymond Bucher of Lakeview, Ore. She was preceded in death by a brother, Marlin Quimby; two sisters, Grace Johnson and Bernice Bucher; and three nephews, Gerald Bucher and Phil and John Quimby.
A private family memorial will be held at a later date.

Elsie Brown
Elsie Anna Brown, 65, died of cancer July 23, 2000, at her home in Bremerton.
She was born July 6, 1935, in Wingdam, British Columbia, to Anna (Quam) Coffman.
She married
Ian "Red" Brown. He preceded her in death in 1992.
Mrs. Brown was a proprietor at Pop's Inn Tavern, which she owned with her husband, for more than 30 years. She retired in 1998.
While operating Pop's Inn, she and Mr. Brown sponsored many community sports and recreational teams over the years, including fastpitch softball, basketball, bowling, darts, Little League and others. She enjoyed playing golf, and was a member of the Fleet Reserve Association and the Washington State Tavern Association.
Survivors include her mother; three daughters, Linda Warf-Wilkinson of Morgan Hill, Calif., Ruth Nightengale of Merced, Calif., and Suzan Cash of Sequim; two sisters, Wanona Shoemaker of Auburn and Adele Hanson of Bremerton; 13 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sons, Donald M. Roche and Daniel P. Roche.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Aug. 20 at the VFW Hall on Dora Avenue near National Avenue in Bremerton.

Harvey Grau Jr.
Former Bremerton resident Harvey Edward Grau Jr., 27, of Fairbanks, Alaska, died July 2, 2000, in North Pole, Alaska, from a truck accident.
He was born Jan. 11, 1973, in Oceanside, Calif., to Harvey and Arlene (Huyck) Grau. He attended Bremerton High School.
Mr. Grau enjoyed fishing and camping.
He is survived by his father; mother and stepfather, Carl and Arlene Lidke; a brother, Micheal F. E. stationed in England; a sister, Debra A. Rodriqeuz of North Pole; and a grandmother, Eleanor Rasor of Mesa, Ariz.
Phebe Taylor
Phebe Jennifer Taylor, 74, of Bremerton died July 29, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Nov. 23, 1925, in Redlands, Calif., to Charles and Lois (Tolle) Bowlsby. She attended Junction City High School in Junction City, Ore.
She married
Charles H. Taylor on Nov. 3, 1953, in Elmira, Ore.
Mrs. Taylor was a homemaker and enjoyed needlework.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Lee of Bremerton; a daughter, Lois of Bremerton; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. today at Central Kitsap Christian Church. Private interment will take place at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Elwyn Burt
Elwyn G. Burt, 82, of Tracyton died July 29, 2000, at his home of natural causes.
He was born Aug. 17, 1917, in Valley Ford, to Arthur and Mable (Murray) Burt.
Mr. Burt served in the Navy from 1944 to 1945, achieving the rank of seaman 2nd class.
He married
Kathleen A. Bradshaw on Aug. 28, 1959, in Bremerton.
He worked as a boilermaker at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 21 years, retiring in 1975.
Mr. Burt was a member of the American Legion Post 68 in Bremerton. He enjoyed the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Kenneth of Olympia; two daughters, Nancy Graham of Clinton, Ind., and Donna Reed of Silverdale; a twin sister, Evelyn Seifert of Oak Harbor; nine grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by several brothers and sisters; and two grandsons.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow immediately.
