George Wallach
George Albert Wallach, 72, of Bremerton died July 18, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 25, 1928, in Seattle to Albert and Viola (Ney) Wallach. He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1946 and attended the University of Washington.
He married
Nadine Long on Aug. 18, 1951, in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in 1991.
Mr. Wallach worked as a contract estimator for The Boeing Company and retired in 1991.
He enjoyed camping and fishing.
He is survived by two sons, Reid and Brandon, both of Bremerton; two daughters, Jenny Elliott of Port Orchard and Sandra Laurie of Bremerton; a sister, Shirley Jean Gosselin of Bremerton; and one grandchild.
A gathering for family and friends is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Marjorie Jennings
Marjorie Cooper Jennings, 79, of Grapeview died July 23, 2000, at her home of cancer.
She was born March 13, 1921, in Hoquiam, to Lindsey and Mattie (Cattron) Cooper. She graduated from high school and attended Grays Harbor Community College.
She married
Milton Joseph Jennings on May 11, 1955. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Mrs. Milton worked as a postmistress in Wauna.
She was a member of the Grapeview Garden Club, Christian Women's Fellowship, and the Westpark Christian Church in Bremerton.
She is survived by a son, Peter of Shelton; three daughters, Lola Etzwiler of Seattle, Norma Lupton of Jackson, Calif., and Carol Jones of Shelton; three brothers, Roland Cooper of Ocean Shores, Ray Cooper of Seattle, and Lynn Cooper of Prosser; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at Shelton Memorial Park, 1605 Van Buren St. Arrangements are under the direction of McComb Funeral Home.

Neil Frohman
Augustus "Neil" Cornelius Frohman, 88, of Poulsbo died July 23, 2000, at his home of natural causes.
He was born Aug. 16, 1911, in Madison, S.D., to John August and Amanda M. A. (Richmond) Frohman.
He married
Shirley L. Hanhela on April 6, 1962, in Astoria, Ore.
Mr. Frohman served in the Navy from 1928 to 1948, achieving the rank of chief warrant officer second class.
He worked for the Civil Service Security Department at Bangor for eight years, retiring in 1971. He enjoyed fishing and oil painting.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Charles of Seabeck and Douglas Schaefer of Cheshire, Conn.; a daughter, Dianne Schaefer Verhelst of Silverdale; a brother, John of Minnesota; a sister, Esther Anderson of Oklahoma; nine grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
An open house gathering of family and friends is planned from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the home of Dianne Verhelst, 8623 Tracyton Blvd. NW.
Catherine Willging
Catherine Jane Willging, 75, of Bainbridge Island died July 22, 2000, at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle.
She was born Jan. 30, 1925, in Plainfield, N.J., to Clarence and Julia (Moran) Schrampf. She graduated from high school in Plainfield in 1945.
She married
Walter L. Willging on June 15, 1962, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
Mrs. Willging enjoyed collecting dolls.
She is survived by two sons, Gregory of Lake Tapps and Jonathan of Poulsbo; two daughters, Julie Tiverton of Rhode Island and Debra Venice of California; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Thursday at St. Barnabas Episcopal Church in Bainbridge Island.
Myrtle Jordan
Myrtle Jessie Jordan, 81, of Poulsbo died July 23, 2000, at Viking Haven Adult Family Home.
She was born Nov. 14, 1918, in Bellingham, to Mr. and Mrs. Charles Stedman. She graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1937.
She married
Morris James Jordan in 1939. They were longtime residents of Lofall. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Mrs. Jordan enjoyed crocheting and flower gardening. She was a member of Christ Memorial Church.
She is survived by two daughters, Arlowen Jordan Raygor of Princeton, N.J., and Marilynn Watland-Moczulewski of Poulsbo; four grandchildren; and 6 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, William Stedman.
Visitation is scheduled from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will immediately follow.
Joan McCarty
Audrey "Joan" McCarty, 70, of Bremerton died July 22, 2000, at Northwoods Lodge in Silverdale.
She was born March 6, 1930, in Illinois to Walter Charles and Audrey Jane (Lafleur) Lyklema. She graduated from Proviso Township High School in Proviso Township, Ill., in 1948, and from Iowa State University in 1952.
Mrs. McCarty was a technical librarian for Marconi at Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Keyport for 12 years.
She enjoyed knitting and painting with watercolors.
Survivors include a son, Charles Merrill McCarty Jr. of Poulsbo; five daughters, Kerry Jane Peterson of Lancaster, Calif., Erin Jean Johnson of Vancouver, Wash., Maureen Joan Thompson, Kathleen June Lackman, and Shannon Jill Blas, all of Bremerton; a sister, Suzanne Maxwell of Anaheim, Calif.; and 17 grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Abundant Hope Fellowship, 1940 Sylvan Way, Bremerton.
Victor Deaky
Victor G. Deaky, 73, of Poulsbo died of pulmonary fibrosis July 20, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 24, 1927, in Hungary to Lajos and Helen Deaky. He graduated from high school in Budapest, Hungary, in 1945, and from California State University.
He married
Ildiko Biro on Sept. 8, 1984, in Santa Monica, Calif.
Mr. Deaky served in the Hungarian army. He was an electro-mechanical junior engineer at Hughes Aircraft in El Segundo, Calif., for 21 years, retiring in 1989.
He enjoyed jewelry design and was a member of a bowling league.
Survivors include a stepmother, Irma Daradics of Budapest; a daughter, Cecilia Deaky of Los Angeles; a brother, Andras of Budapest; and two stepgrandchildren.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated 5 p.m. Wednesday at St. Olaf's Catholic Church in Poulsbo. Arrangements are by Poulsbo Mortuary, "The Stone Chapel."

Annie Cronin
Annie Bertina Cronin, 95, of Keyport died July 20, 2000, at Saint Clair Hospital in Lakewood.
She was born Jan. 1, 1905, in Seattle to Odin and Anna (Holmberg) Olson. She was educated in Seattle and East Stanwood.
She married
Edward F. Cronin on July 18, 1947, in Poulsbo. He preceded her in death in 1965.
Mrs. Cronin worked at Keyport Torpedo Station during World War II and then owned and managed rental properties in Keyport.
She enjoyed gardening and ceramics.
Survivors include two daughters, Berniece Redding of Tacoma and Violet Simkins of St. George, Utah; 13 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Ruby Bennett Jacobson
Ruby L. Bennett Jacobson, 88, of Bremerton died July 20, 2000, at Later Years Adult Family Home.
She was born Oct. 1, 1911, in Tacoma to John and Hilda (Johanson) Lund. She graduated from Stadium High School in Tacoma in 1929.
She married
Robert A. Bennett on Aug. 26, 1939. He preceded her in death in 1978. She then married
Berger Jacobson in 1981. He preceded her in death in 1982.
She was a secretary and accountant for many years, most recently at Service Fuel Company.
She was a member of Chapter AH PEO and a charter member of St. Luke's Methodist Church.
Survivors include three sons, Alex and Mark Bennett, both of Bremerton, and Tom Bennett of Mercer Island; a stepson, Brian Jacobson of Bremerton; two stepdaughters, Karen Gosney of Bellevue and Ann Jacobson of Seattle; six grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Friday at St. Luke's United Methodist Church. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Tracy Gubsch
Tracy Lee Gubsch, 37, of Spanaway died July 21, 2000, in Poulsbo.
He was born Aug. 13, 1962, in Winslow to Charles and Florence (Christofferson) Gubsch. He graduated from Bainbridge Island High School in 1980 and Pacific Lutheran University in 1986.
He married
Deborah Hanson.
Mr. Gubsch worked in retail and as a financial planner for six years.
He enjoyed sports and music. He was a member of the Lutheran church.
Survivors include his wife of Puyallup; his parents of Poulsbo; a son, Kristian of Puyallup; a brother, Tim of Leavenworth; and a sister, Tonya Priddis of Silverdale.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 to 10 a.m. today at Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove. A private graveside service will follow at 11 a.m. at Mountain View cemetery. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church on Bainbridge Island.
William Hoberecht
Former Bremerton resident William D. Hoberecht, 91, of Great Bend, Kan., died July 20, 2000, at Central Kansas Medical Center in Great Bend.
He was born June 17, 1909, in Newton, Kan., to George L. and Katie Enns Hoberecht.
He married
Gladys Marie Howard on July 14, 1929, in Newton.
Mr. Hoberecht worked in the oil industry for Halliburton and Dowell Well Services. He then worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for eight years, retiring in 1974.
He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Masonic Lodge 15, and Commandry Knights Templar in Great Bend.
He is survived by three sons, Russell D. of Great Bend, Leland G. of Derby, Kan., and Donald L. of Wichita, Kan.; two daughters, Glenna M. Bone of Bremerton and Thelma A. Buettgenbach of Pratt, Kan.; 17 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Carl and Herman; and four sisters, Esther Schmidt, Eva Gates, Sarah Plummer and Ruth Polston.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. today at Bryant-Christians Chapel in Great Bend. Interment
will be at Great Bend cemetery.
