Marion Powers
Marion F. Powers, 77, of Bremerton died July 14, 2000, at Harrison Hospital of natural causes.
She was born Nov. 19, 1922, in Bancroft, Neb., to LaFlesche and Marion (Nicholson) Farley. She graduated from Bancroft High School in 1940.
She married
William F. Powers on Aug. 2, 1942, in Chicago. He preceded her in death in 1990.
Mrs. Powers was a homemaker and a member of the East Bremerton Garden Club.
She is survived by four sons, William of Ulysses, Kan., Thomas of West Sacramento, Calif., James of Bay Point, Calif., and Robert of Concord, Calif; a brother, John Farley of Sioux City, Iowa; a sister, Grace Marsh of Overbrook, Kan.; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, Ed Farley.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Inurnment will take place at Golden Gate National cemetery in San Francisco.

Marie McArthur
Marie C. McArthur, 83, of Bremerton died of natural causes July 14, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Sept. 20, 1916, in Saint Cloud, Minn., to Ben and Ellen (Brennan) Bredeck. She graduated from Bremerton High School.
She married
James F. McArthur on May 3, 1977, in Bremerton.
Mrs. McArthur was a homemaker and a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
She is survived by her husband; a son, James R. McArthur of Wickenburg, Ariz.; a daughter, Jerie Ann Butler of Tempe, Ariz.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Morrow, in 1950.
A memorial service will be announced at a later date. Entombment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Joan Glenn
Former Poulsbo resident Joan Stanley Glenn, 72, of Indianola, died of cancer July 12, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born May 8, 1928, in Vancouver, B.C., to Harry B. and Jean E. (Wheeler) Schofield.
She married
Henry B. Glenn on October 30, 1945, in Seattle.
Mrs. Glenn worked as a dental assistant in Kingston and a claims manager and physician's representative for King County Medical in Seattle. She retired in 1981.
She enjoyed traveling with friends and family.
Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Kathryn Gates of Bend, Ore., and Marguerite Norbut of Kingston; two brothers, John and David Schofield, both of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
At her request there will be no services.

Willy Rabel
Willy Fredrick Rabel, 86, of Poulsbo died July 10, 2000, in Poulsbo of cancer.
He was born Nov. 26, 1913, in Williston, N.D., to Fredrick Charles and Elizabeth (Shaney) Rabel. He graduated from Los Angeles Boyle Heights High School in 1930.
He married
Audrey Isabell Moye on April 17, 1938, in Los Angeles.
Mr. Rabel was a tool and die maker for 53 years, retiring in 1978.
He was a member of the North Kitsap Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Karl; a daughter, Carolyn Rabel Zane; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Fritz and Adolph.
A memorial service is scheduled for 3 p.m. Sunday at North Kitsap Baptist Church. Inurnment will be at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Irma Jacobsen Matthais
Former Port Orchard resident Irma Jacobsen Matthais, 91, of Tacoma, died July 9, 2000, in Tacoma of heart complications.
She was born June 13, 1909, in San Francisco, to Friederich and Wilhelmina Sternemann. She graduated from high school and normal school in Honolulu.
She married
Marcus Jacobsen in 1930 in Honolulu. He preceded her in death in 1970. She married
Melvin A. Matthais in 1974 in Port Orchard.
She taught elementary school in Hawaii for several years. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and the Hawaiian Club.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Charles Jacobsen of Silverdale; a stepson, Bill Matthais of Tacoma; a daughter, Marcia Hoskins of Manassas, Va.; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Vera Sternemann; and a brother, Otto Sternemann.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Alltera Retirement Community, 2010 S. Union St. in Tacoma.
Nancy Crossley
Former Bremerton resident Nancy Ann Crossley, 70, of Bothell died July 11, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 7, 1930, in Tacoma to George and Madge (Stonebracker) Needham. She graduated from Mount Si High School in Snoqualmie.
She married
Frank H. Crossley on Jan. 25, 1951, in Bellingham. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Mrs. Crossley was a finance director for Bothell for 23 years, retiring in 1994.
She enjoyed traveling and spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Steve of Bonnie Lake, Wash.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at Flintoft's Issaquah Funeral Home.
Dennis Poor
Dennis Larry Poor, 43, of Poulsbo died July 10, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Dec. 29, 1956, in Pueblo, Colo., to Larry F. and Beverly (Griffin) Poor. He graduated from East High School in Pueblo in 1975.
He married
Deborah Kay Boysen on July 20, 1997, in Pueblo.
Mr. Poor was an electronics mechanic at Naval Undersea Warfare Center in Keyport.
He is survived by his wife; his parents; a son, Alexander of Poulsbo; a daughter, Allison of Poulsbo; a brother, Keith of Pueblo; and a grandmother, Pearl Griffin of Pueblo.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove in Poulsbo. A celebration of life is planned for 3 p.m. Friday at Kitsap Memorial Park. Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Crematory.
Cecil George
Cecil P. George, 87, of Suquamish died July 10, 2000, at Harrison Hospital of natural causes.
He was born Dec. 17, 1912, in Poulsbo to Bennie and Martha (Purser) George. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in Poulsbo in 1932.
Mr. George served in the Army from 1941 to 1945, achieving the rank of sergeant.
He married
Wilma Mourning. She preceded him in death in 1999.
He was an electrician at Bangor for 26 years, retiring in 1971. He enjoyed hunting and sports.
Survivors include a son, Lewis of Suquamish; three brothers, Bob, Ted and Ron, all of Suquamish; three sisters, Marjorie Mohr, Regina Rambo and Corrine Rock, all of Suquamish; and one grandchild. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bennie George Jr. and Lyle George; and a sister, Evelyn Armstrong.
Viewing is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon today. A memorial service is planned for noon Friday at the Suquamish Tribal Center.

Iva Wall
Iva Marie Wall, 96, of Poulsbo died July 10, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Aug. 8, 1903, in Cosmopolis, Wash., to Emil and Nellie (Fry) Gustafson. She graduated from high school in Aberdeen in 1921, and from the University of Washington in 1925.
She married
Oscar E. Wall on Oct. 20, 1929, in Cosmopolis. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Mrs. Wall was a homemaker who enjoyed family history and gardening. She was a founding member of Central Park Methodist Church in Aberdeen.
She is survived by two sons, Norman of Tacoma and Glen of Aberdeen; a daughter, Carol Sperber of Bremerton; eight grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
An open house is scheduled from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at her home. Inurnment will be at Cosmopolis City cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Darell Walterson
S. Darell Walterson, 72, of Belfair died July 10, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Nov. 1, 1927, in Tampa, Fla., to Henry and Myrtle (Hatfield) Walterson.
He married
Lucile Dear on Feb. 6, 1947, in Clearwater, Fla.
Mr. Walterson served in the Navy for four years. He was an executive with the Herrick Corporation for 20 years, and retired in 1982.
He enjoyed flyfishing and was a member of the Shriners.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Randy of Pleasanton, Calif.; two daughters, Leslie Walterson of Belfair and Brooks Williams of Port Angeles; three brothers, Joel of Lake Wales, Fla., Dwight of Florida, and Mark Baker of Seffner, Fla.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Matthew Hershberger
Matthew W. Hershberger, 23, of Kingston, died July 10, 2000, in Port Orchard as a result of an auto accident.
He was born Aug. 1, 1976, in San Luis Obispo, Calif., to John W. Hershberger and Barbara (Albert) Newhall. He graduated from Morro Bay High School in Morro Bay, Calif., in 1994.
Mr. Hershberger worked in the culinary trades for eight years, and at the time of his death was a sous-chef at Manor Farm Inn.
He enjoyed surfing and snowboarding.
He is survived by his companion, Kate Posey of Seattle; his father, mother and stepfather, Jim Newhall, all of Los Osos, Calif.; a sister, Bree Cotton of San Jose, Calif.; and a grandfather, William M. Albert of Los Osos.
A funeral service is planned for 5 p.m. Sunday at Los Osos Community Center in California. It will be directed by Los Osos Valley Mortuary. Interment
will take place at Los Osos Valley Memorial Park. Local arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
