Margaret Larson
Margaret Amy Larson, 86, of Poulsbo died July 11, 2000, at Martha and Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
She was born Feb. 9, 1914, in Wheeling, W.Va., to James and Amy (Stuart) Philabaum. She graduated from high school in Wheeling in 1932.
She married
Milton Larson on December 5, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Mrs. Larson was a bank teller and bookkeeper for Poulsbo Bank, retiring in 1960.
She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo.
Survivors include a daughter, Barbara Webb of Poulsbo; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Saturday at First Lutheran Church. A private interment will be at First Lutheran Church cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.
Delores Held
Delores G. Held, 67, of Poulsbo, died July 8, 2000, at her home of emphysema.
She was born Jan. 16, 1933, in Carlton, Mich., to Mary and George Held. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Ypsilanti, Mich.
She was a member of the Lutheran church.
She is survived by her companion, Henry Jilg of Poulsbo; a son, Michael Prain of Jackson, Mich.; three daughters, Kathleen Anne of Portland, Ore., Karen Esterling of Jackson, and Katy Stough of Chelsea, Mich.; two brothers, Don of Addison, Mich., and Ray of Ormond Beach, Fla.; two sisters, Alma Horvath of Ormond Beach and Grace Tippett of Ypsilanti; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, David R. Prain.
A memorial service will take place in Grass Lake, Mich. The date and time have yet to be determined. For those interested, call (517) 522-3081. Inurnment will take place in Grass Lake. Local arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.
William Motzkus
William J. Motzkus, 73, of Quincy, died June 30, 2000, in Quincy of cancer.
He was born Oct. 5, 1926, in Bremerton to William and Freda (Hilflicker) Motzkus. He graduated from Silverdale High School in 1943.
Mr. Motzkus served in the Navy from 1943 to 1945.
He married
Phyliss Foss on Aug. 12, 1947.
He worked as a carpenter for 52 years, retiring in 1997. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Moose Lodge in Quincy and the German Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; four sons, Steve, Chuck, Dennis, and Jim, all of Quincy; a brother, Robert of Wasilla, Alaska; a sister, Berniece Blees of Bremerton; 13 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted July 11 at Scharback Columbia Funeral Chapel in Quincy.
Margaret Gibson
Margaret Ruth Gibson, 92, of Silverdale, died July 9, 2000, at Clearbrook Inn Living Center.
She was born May 21, 1908, to Roy and Florence (Stick) Monroe in Whiting, Kan. She graduated from high school in Soldier, Kan., and from Kansas State Teachers College in Emporia and Western Washington University in Bellingham.
She married
Erwin C. Gibson on May 21, 1932, in Kansas. He preceded her in death in 1980.
Mrs. Gibson taught elementary school in Kansas and at Pearson Elementary School in Poulsbo. She retired in 1971.
She enjoyed reading and sewing. She was a member of First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo.
She is survived by a son, Harold E. Gibson of Poulsbo; a brother, George Monroe of Grand Island, Neb.; and two grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Virginia, in 1976.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. A private interment will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Andy Eads
Andy Eads, 49, of Joliet, Mont., died June 30, 2000, in Billings, Mont.
He was born in Wenatchee on May 31, 1951, to Edward and Flo (Haken) Bruce. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1969.
Mr. Eads served in the Navy from 1969-73.
He married
Jan Thornock on July 14, 1997, in Republic.
He worked as a mechanic and welder, and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; his parents of Bremerton; five daughters, Brandy of Florida, Lindi of Seattle, Jacky of Colorado, Noreen of California, and Dawn of Nevada; a brother, Jim Brannan of Milton Freewater, Ore.; a sister, Beverly Mosbarger of Shelton; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Bobby and Mike.
A memorial service is planned for 5 p.m. July 22 at Crosby Community Club, 2135 Christopher Road NW, Seabeck.

Rose Olson
Anetta Rose Olson, 84, of Bremerton, died July 6, 2000, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born in Bremerton July 31, 1915, to Albert and Delia (Ketchell) Ramey. She graduated from West High School in 1932.
She married
Alfred Morrison of Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1969. She later married
Herbert Olson of Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She worked as a credit manager at Sears for more than 24 years.
Mrs. Olson enjoyed camping and was a member of the Altrusa Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Patty Morrison of Bremerton; a sister, Helen Clapp of Gig Harbor; three grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Albert and Clarence Ramey.
There will be no services. Interment
took place at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Julius Whitinger
Julius Whitinger, 84, of Bremerton, died July 7, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born on Nov. 24, 1915, in St. Cloud, Minn., to Fred and Ethel (Adams) Whitinger. He graduated from St. Cloud Technical High School in 1934, St. Cloud State College in 1938, and Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C., in 1965.
He served in the Navy from 1938-58, achieving the rank of chief musician.
He married
Dorothy Koons on May 16, 1942, in Washington, D.C.
Mr. Whitinger taught in the music department at Bethel College in St. Paul, Minn., for 20 years, retiring in 1980.
He was a Bible teacher in Washington, D.C., Minnesota and Washington state. He was a member of Kappa Delta Pi and Sylvan Way Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Julie Ann Blue of Bremerton; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, "Boot" and "Flip, " and three sisters, Huldie, Phyllis, and Ethel.
A memorial is planned for 5 p.m. July 22 at Sylvan Way Baptist Church in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Donetta Ashlock
Donetta Ashlock, 90, of Bremerton died July 3, 2000, at Bremerton Health and Rehabilitation Center.
She was born on Jan. 23, 1910, in Levitt, Alberta, Canada, to Levi Delmar and Lettice Ann (Haslam) Broadbent.
She worked as a waitress for more than 25 years.
Survivors include a son, Jerry Baker of Santee, Calif.; and a grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Ashlock, in 1974.
There will be no services. Interment
will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Jean Swett
Jean E. Swett, 69, of Bremerton, died July 10, 2000, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle of complications resulting from a brain aneurysm.
She was born in Kelson on Sept. 21, 1930, to Samuel and Minnie (Wicks) Smith. She graduated from Central Kitsap High School in 1948 and Olympic College in 1950.
She married
Francis L. Swett on Sept. 5, 1965, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. He preceded her in death in 1983.
Mrs. Swett worked in Keyport for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
She enjoyed gardening and was a member of the Waketickeh Creek Club and was a Protestant.
She is survived by two sons, George Bryan of Bremerton and Michael Bryan of Tacoma; two daughters, Carol Williams of Tacoma and Gail Johnson of Groton, Conn; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Thomas Dean Williams; and a brother, Jim Smith.
A celebration of life is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. Friday at Kitsap Lake Baptist Church. A private burial will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Thomas Taylor
Thomas Nathaniel Taylor, 27, of Poulsbo died July 6, 2000, in Thurston County due to an off-roading accident.
He was born June 17, 1973, in Tripler, Hawaii, to Thomas and Elizabeth (Johnson) Taylor. He graduated from Olympic High School in 1992 and from Olympic College in 1998.
Mr. Taylor was a boiler plant operator at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for six years.
He enjoyed stock car racing and was a member of the Kitsap Demolition Derby Association.
Survivors include his parents of Poulsbo; a sister, Melissa Payfer of Poulsbo; and a grandmother, Carole Ramsey of Paso Robles, Calif.
A memorial service is planned for 6 tonight at the Embassy Center on Sixth and Warren in Bremerton. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Nina Baker
Nina G. Baker, 60, of Bremerton died July 4, 2000, at her home of natural causes.
She was born May 17, 1940, in Preston, Idaho, to Otto and Vilda (Gassman) Baker.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include two sons, Brad of Kaysville, Utah, and Lynn of Nampa, Idaho; two daughters, Sherry Fife of Murray, Utah, and Michelle Armstrong of Boise, Idaho; a sister, Olive Jean Dewald of Richmond; and 11 grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at the LDS Chapel on Perry Avenue. Interment
will take place at Twin Firs cemetery in Belfair.
