Ellen Doonan
Ellen Vivian Doonan, 80, of Port Orchard died Sept. 18, 1998, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
She was born Aug. 14, 1918 in Great Bend, Kan., to Cora and Frank Asher. She was raised in Kansas.
She was a homemaker. She was also a member of the Port Orchard Methodist Church and the Port Orchard UMW and volunteered her services to the Helpline.
Survivors include two sons, Eldon of Port Orchard and Don of Farmersville, Texas; two daughters, Vivian Jensen of Port Orchard and Lois Joy of Fredericksburg, Texas; two brothers, Carlos Asher of Michigan, and Lloyd Asher of Colorado Springs, Colo.; four sisters, Mildred Tourneaur, Doris Miller and Ruby Phillips, all of Great Bend, and Ester Moeller of Phoenix, Ariz.; 11 grandchildren, Terry, Lindel, Charles, Sheldon Cast, Joy Welch, Jymme Linn Lemons, Wanda Hogue, Becky Cast, James Jensen, Ellie Jense and Robbie Jensen; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was conducted Sept. 21. Graveside services will be announced.

Terry Binns
Terry William Binns, 63, of Suquamish died Sept. 21, 1998, after an extended illness.
He was born Aug. 11, 1935, in Portland, Ore., to Theodore Binns and Mary Elizabeth Abbott Blaufus. He was raised in Moses Lake, graduating from Moses Lake High School and later from Gonzaga University.
He married Marilee Binns in Superior, Montana, in 1956.
Mr. Binns was a supervisor of systems installations for Pacific Bell in Sunnyvale and, most recently, a real estate agent for Arrow Realty.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, H. Glade of Shelton and Kameron of Suquamish; two daughters, Tarilee Anne of Suquamish and Rondilyn Man of Belgium; a brother, Kay Lybbert of Suquamish; a sister, Joyce Gandinberger of Richland; and four grandchildren, Michael Binns and Parker, Marshall and Rhiannon Mann, all of Belgium. He was preceded in death by his son Kay in 1978.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept. 23 at Poulsbo Mortuary, "The Stone Chapel, " 22272 Foss Road NE. A private family service will be conducted.
Memorials may be made to the charity of your choice.

Rena Reinke
Rena Laura Reinke, 82, of Bremerton died Sept. 21, 1998, in Bothell, a victim of Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Feb. 29, 1916, in Central Fall, R.I.
Mrs. Reinke made her living as a piano teacher. She was a member of the Sons of Norway, AARP, the National Association of Music Educators, the Eagles, the Altar Society and an organist at St. Peter's in Suquamish.
Survivors include four sons, Huston St. John of Moses Lake, Eugene St. John of Olympia, Normand Boucher of Johnston, R.I., and Roland Boucher of England; two daughters, Susan Davis of Brier and Connie Finseth of Pittsburgh, Penn.; 14 grandchildren, Rachel, Jeannine, Jordan, Matthew, Michael, Tobe, Sami, Jaimie, Jennifer, Celeste, Rachel, Lauren, Kendall and Yvonne. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Huston St. John in 1968, her second husband, Robert Reinke in 1994, and a grandchild, Huston Jr.
Visitation will be from 9 to 10 a.m. Sept. 24 with Funeral services following at 11 a.m., both at Miller Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Western and Central Washington, 1422 NW 85th St., Seattle, WA 98117.

Isidro Oreiro
Isidro Pete Corpuz Oreiro, 91, of Bainbridge Island died Sept. 15, 1998, from a carcinoma of the gall bladder in Bainbridge Island.
He was born July 11, 1907, in the Philippines. He was raised in Seattle and on Bainbridge Island.
He was a founding member of the Filipino Community.
He is survived by his son, Mike of Poulsbo and his sister, Arsenia Pagaduan of Seattle.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Sept. 17, at Kass Funeral Home, 163 Wyatt Way, Bainbridge Island.
Rosary will be read at 7 p.m. Sept. 17 with the funeral Mass being celebrated at 11 a.m. Sept. 18. Both will be held at St. Cecilia Catholic Church on Bainbridge Island.
Interment will be at Island Center cemetery on Bainbridge Island following the Mass. Arrangements are under the direction of Kass Funeral Home.

Gerald York
Gerald R. "Jerry" York, 80, of Olalla died Sept. 16, 1988, of natural causes.
He was born April 17, 1918, in Union, Ore., to James H. and Lula E. (Dalton) York. He was raised in Baker City, Ore., graduating from Baker City High School in 1936, and then attending the University of Oregon for three years.
On Sept. 16, 1944, he married Dorothy M. York in Indianapolis, Ind.
Mr. York served in the Army from 1941 to 1945 in the Pacific Theater in World War II. He later made his living in the insurance industry for nearly 50 years, 15 as owner and operator of York Insurance Agency in Gig Harbor until his retirement in 1990.
He was Past Master, Masonic Lodge (A.F. and A.M.) in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
He is survived by his wife.
No services are scheduled at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Susan Herrmann
Susan L. Herrmann, 52, of Port Orchard died Sept. 15, 1998, in Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 17, 1946, in Olympia to Fred and Kathryn (Fisher) Graham. She lived in the Bremerton area since the age of five. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1964, and from Central Washington University in 1968.
She worked for the Olympia School District and then for Silverdale Elementary School in the Central Kitsap District for 30 years.
She was a member of the Early Irons Northwest and C.K.E.A., N.E.A. All-Star bowling league of Silverdale.
Survivors include a daughter, Michelle Herrmann of Port Orchard; and a sister, Linda Tate of Seattle.
Memorial services will be at 11 a.m. Sept. 19 at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Minnie O'Malley
Minnie Maxine O'Malley, 83, of Poulsbo died of a heart attack Sept. 10, 1998, at Martha and Mary Nursing Home.
She was born May 10, 1915, to Fred and Minnie (Traylor) Ramp. She was raised in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Survivors include a son, William Gerald Barnes of Poulsbo; a brother, John Ramp of Cincinnati, Ohio; two grandchildren, William Thomas Barnes of Seabeck and Joanne Lynn Barnes of Bremerton; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 3 p.m. Sept. 20, at Martha and Mary Chapel. According to her wishes, her body will be donated to the University of Washington for medical research.

He was born July 11, 1907, in the Philippines. He was raised in Seattle and on Bainbridge Island.

Paul Banta
Paul R. Banta, 84, of Bremerton died Sept. 13, 1998, at Forest Ridge Convalescent Center.
He was born Sept. 20, 1913, to Henry and Martha (Coker) Banta in Texas.
In 1939, he married Pauline.
Mr. Banta worked in construction as a carpenter.
He is survived by his wife.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Sept. 22, at Forest Ridge Convalescent Center, 140 Marion St. A private burial will be at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Lois Simons
Lois Jean Violet Simons, 88, of Edmonds died Sept. 16, 1998, at the Bothell Life Care Center.
She was born April 20, 1910, to Adolph and Jessie (Ross) Johnson in Bremerton. She was raised and educated in Bremerton.
She married Ted Simons in 1928. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1963. Following her marriage, she lived in the Silverdale and Tracyton areas.
Mrs. Simons worked as a salesperson for the Yarn Barn until retiring.
She attended the North Kitsap Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Gloria Long of Edmonds and Jan Brown of Mukilteo; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jessie White, on July 21, 1995.
Graveside services will be at 1 p.m. Sept. 18, at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
