Theodore Henzel
Theodore N. Henzel, 66, of Bremerton died July 4, 2000, at his home of cancer.
He was born May 15, 1934, in New England, N.D., to Lorenz and Elizabet Henzel. He graduated from Walla Walla High School in 1953 and from Eastern Washington State College in Cheney in 1972.
Mr. Henzel served in the Navy from 1953 to 1961, receiving the Korea Service Medal and United Service Medal.
He married
Sharon L. Howard on July 13, 1965, in Walla Walla.
He was head of cost accounting at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Henzel enjoyed woodworking and auto mechanics.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Marc and Tony, both of Bremerton; a daughter, Bambi Brown of Bremerton; two brothers, Vernon of Yakima and Joe of Carson City, Nev.; six sisters, Dorothy Doebler, Maggie Jamison, Katie Richards, Liz Martin, Helen Clay and Eva Wilson; and 16 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Pete and Frank.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Eastgate Assembly of God in Bremerton.
Viola Morris Lawing
Viola L. Morris Lawing, 83, of Bremerton died July 7, 2000, at Harrison Hospital from complications of Parkinson's disease.
She was born Jan. 12, 1917, in Sacramento, Calif., to Delbert and Mary (Olin) Vextor.
She married
Robert Lee Lawing on Sept. 17, 1970, in Reno, Nev.
Mrs. Lawing was a homemaker who enjoyed boating and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary Eagles.
She is survived by her husband of Seabeck; a son, Louie Morris of Port Orchard; a daughter, Sharen Morris Leedy; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Walter Vextor; and her first husband, Lewis Morris.
A memorial service is planned for noon Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Chapel on the Hill. Interment
will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Harry Sandberg
Harry Lee Sandberg, 72, of Poulsbo died July 6, 2000, at Northwoods Lodge.
He was born Oct. 2, 1927, in Bucoda to Gunnar and Jesse (Patterson) Sandberg. He graduated from Centralia High School in 1945, attended Centralia Community College and graduated from Western Washington University in Bellingham in 1951.
Mr. Sandberg served in the Navy from 1945 to 1946.
He married
Jacquelyn Sherwood on Aug. 21, 1949, in Centralia.
He was a teacher for the North Kitsap School District for 31 years. He retired in 1982.
Mr. Sandberg enjoyed golfing and fishing.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Brian of Bremerton; two daughters, Kristi Sutton of Bainbridge Island and Joan Bohannon of Midland, Texas; one sister, Lorraine Moore of Snoqualmie; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Thursday at Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove. Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.

Richard Eshelman
Richard A. Eshelman, 56, of Tracyton died of a heart attack July 5, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born April 11, 1944, in Tacoma. He graduated from West Anchorage High School in Anchorage, Alaska, in 1962.
He married
Janice M. Moore on Oct. 3, 1969, in Southworth.
Mr. Eshelman served in the Army during the Vietnam War.
He worked for Sprint for 30 years and enjoyed fishing and golfing.
Survivors include a son, Brian of Tracyton; and a sister, Janice Padgett of Prescott, Ariz.
There will be no services at his request.

Christina Galvez Cruz Le Gros
Christina Galvez Cruz Le Gros, 23, of Bremerton died July 4, 2000, at Harrison Hospital in Bremerton.
She was born Nov. 20, 1976, in Manila, Philippines, to Ed and Terry Cruz. She married
Geoffrey Le Gros on April 21, 1995.
Survivors include her husband; her parents of Bremerton; a daughter, Onawa Galvez Le Gros; two brothers, Edward and Terence of Bremerton; paternal grandmother Ceferina B. Cruz; and maternal grandmother Marina C. Galvez.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, Wednesday and Thursday at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A memorial service will be from noon to 9 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Evergreen Park in Bremerton.
Ethel Feddock
Ethel Delores Feddock, 65, of Port Orchard died July 7, 2000, at her home.
She was born Jan. 7, 1935, in Van Meter, Pa., to John G. and Mary (Tylka) Feddock, and lived under the care of her parents all her life.
Survivors include her mother of the family home; two brothers, John Phillip and John George, both of Port Orchard; four sisters, Dorothy Summerill and Antonia "Toni" Huebert, both of Port Orchard, Mary Alice Breaker of Seattle and Anna Marie McIntyre of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by her father in 1998.
Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard. A graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Fraola cemetery in Port Orchard.
Opal Greear
Opal I. Greear, 88, of Bremerton died July 10, 2000, at Crista Shores of natural causes.
She was born Feb. 5, 1912, in Ferndale to Norman and Gertrude (King) Ellis. She graduated from Custer High School in Custer in 1929.
Mrs. Greear was a bookkeeper and homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and bowling.
Survivors include a daughter, Norma Wise of Bremerton; three grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E., in 1974; and her daughter, Anita Wilson, in 1987.
A private service will be held at a later date. Interment
will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Donald McLean
Donald A. McLean, 89, of Bremerton died July 3, 2000, at Northwoods Lodge.
He was born June 6, 1911, in Davenport to Arthur and Etta (Goans) McLean. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Port Angeles in 1929.
He married
Evelyne Middleton on Oct. 2, 1932, in Port Angeles. She preceded him in death in 1973.
Mr. McLean was a salesman for most of his life, retiring in 1972.
He enjoyed gardening, was a longtime member of Charleston Baptist and a member of the Manette Community Church.
He is survived by two daughters, Donna Sportsman of Renton and Winnie McComas of Entiat; two stepsons, Elsworth Shaffer of Bremerton and Ronald Shaffer of Piedmont, Calif.; two stepdaughters, Kathy Knapp of Spokane and Alberta Boyle of Rockaway, Ore.; a brother, Bernard of Shelton; five grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several stepgrandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his second wife, Lydia Shaffer McLean; a sister, Ruby; and two brothers, Charles and Dean.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at Manette Community Church. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Montgomery Johnson
Montgomery D. Johnson, 67, of Bremerton died July 6, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born July 6, 1933, in Scotts Bluff, Neb., to George D. and Ferne A. (Harrington) Johnson. He graduated from Bremerton High School and attended Olympic College.
Mr. Johnson served in the Marines from 1951 to 1954, achieving the rank of sergeant. He received a Korean Service Medal of good conduct.
He married
Patricia Nelson in 1962 in Bremerton.
Mr. Johnson was a meat cutter for 36 years. He enjoyed woodcarving and fishing and was a member of Manette Community Church.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, William G. of Port Orchard and Warren N. of Bremerton; a daughter, Andrea E. Arns of Olalla; two sisters, Jacqoline J. Smalley of Bremerton and DeAnna K. Kauzlaric of Seabeck; and six grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday, also at Miller-Woodlawn. A memorial service will take place 1 p.m. Tuesday at Manette Community Church.

Joy Yockey
Joy M. Yockey, 69, of Montesano, died July 4, 2000, in Olympia.
She was born Aug. 10, 1930, in Wallace, Idaho, to Art and Margaret (Shields) Erickson. She graduated from high school in Bonners Ferry, Idaho, in 1948.
She married
Robert Yockey in 1968 in Bremerton and was employed for 20 years in dental offices in the Montesano area.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Montesano and a charter member of the Gig Harbor Genealogy Society.
Survivors include her husband; five sons, Mike, Dan, and Tim Milovich of Bremerton, Tony Milovich of Great Falls, Mont., and David Milovich of Colorado Springs, Colo.; three stepsons, Bob and Bill Yockey of Seattle and Rex Yockey of Spokane; a brother, Gary Ruen of Seattle; 20 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Visitation is scheduled from 10 a.m. to noon Aug. 10 at First Baptist Church in Montesano. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m.

George Cressman
George H. Cressman, 91, of Port Orchard died July 6, 2000 at his home of natural causes.
He was born Jan. 9, 1909, in Pine Ridge, Calif., to Ammon and Nellie (Hall) Cressman. He graduated from Pine Ridge High School.
He married
Avanelle "Abbie" Reitz on June 17, 1947, in Detroit.
Mr. Cressman served in the Navy from 1928 to 1953, achieving the rank of chief boiler technician. He worked as a welder at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 45 years, retiring in 1973.
He was a member of the Masons and the Fleet Reserve Branch 29.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Gary of Enumclaw, Dennis of Bremerton, and Thomas of Port Orchard; one brother, Allen "Bill" of Tollhouse, Calif.; and five grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. Tuesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
