Dorothy Paulson
Dorothy Mary Paulson, 73, of Gig Harbor died of cancer June 28, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 8, 1926, in Washington, D.C., to Samuel F. and Amelia (Medina) Smith. She graduated from San Diego High School in 1944.
She married
David Paulson on April 3, 1970, in Bayview. He preceded her in death in 1997.
Mrs. Paulson worked as a marine radio operator with Alaska Communication Systems for 10 years in Kodiak, Alaska.
She was a member of Key Peninsula Lutheran Church, as well as the Emblem Club in both Kodiak and Gig Harbor.
She is survived by three sons, Charles Valen of Redmond, Steven Valen of Polson, Mont., and Bradley Paulson of Anacortes; a daughter, Lisa Paulson of Anacortes; a brother, Stephen Smith of San Diego; and eight grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister, Virginia Weitzel.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Friday at Key Peninsula Lutheran Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Carrie Browning
Carrie Mae Browning, 89, of Bremerton died of natural causes June 28, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 15, 1911, in Broken Bow, Okla., to Joe and Eliza (Adams) Harris.
She married
Chester "Brownie" Browning on April 9, 1927, in Queen City, Texas. He preceded her in death in 1974.
Mr. and Mrs. Chester were former owners of Bremerton Electric. They retired in 1972.
She was a member of Manette Community Church.
She is survived by three sons, Robert and Joe, both of Bremerton, and Max of Hondo, Texas; two daughters, Shelba Morgan of Winchester, Calif., and Shirley Martinez of Port Orchard; two sisters, Leona Hudson and Rosie Ross, both of Gladewater, Texas; 15 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her brother, Floyd Harris.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service and later a celebration of her life at the home of Richard and Shirley Martinez, 2006 SE Juniper Court in Port Orchard. Interment
will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.

Ronald Sailor
Ronald E. Sailor, 53, of Port Orchard died of cancer June 28, 2000, at his home.
He was born Dec. 24, 1946, in Bremerton to Glenn M. and Florence M. Sailor. He graduated from West High School in Bremerton in 1965.
He served in the Army from 1967 to 1970, achieving the rank of specialist 4. He worked as a biological technician for the National Oceanic Atmospheric Association for 10 years.
He is survived by his mother and two brothers, Dennis and Terry, both of Bremerton. He was preceded in death by a brother, James Michael Sailor.
A memorial service is scheduled for 1 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Jose David
Jose Lampa David, 75, of Silverdale died June 29, 2000, at his home after a long-term illness.
He was born Oct. 5, 1924, in Betis Guagua Pampanga, Philippines, to Juan and Catalina (Ocampo) Lampa. He attended school in Guagua Pampanga.
He married
Rosalina Quiambao on April 5, 1970, in Bali Bago Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines.
Mr. David worked as a carpenter for 60 years, retiring in 1995.
He was a member of the Roman Catholic Church, the Filipino-American Association and the Pampanguenio Association.
He is survived by his wife of Kodiak, Alaska; seven sons, Rodrigo of Silverdale, Antonio of Bremerton, Renato of Whidbey Island, Redentor and Remigio, both of Kodiak, and Rodolfo and Jose Jr., both of the Philippines; two daughters, Teresita Macalintal of Kodiak and Susana Manlutac of the Philippines; two sisters, Anita Lopez and Emiliana David, both of the Philippines; 20 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from
9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A rosary will be said at 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton, with a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Edna Marshall
Edna L. Marshall, 84, of Bremerton died of natural causes June 28, 2000, in Mill Creek.
She was born Nov. 15, 1915, in Parkersburg, W. Va. She graduated from Parkersburg High School in 1932 and attended college in West Virginia for two years, earning an associate degree.
She married
Ralph A. Marshall on Aug. 20, 1942, in Parkersburg. He preceded her in death in 1998.
Prior to World War II, she worked as a secretary for Prudential Life Insurance. She then became a homemaker.
She was a member of the West Side Improvement Club, the West Side Senior Center and First Christian Church of Bremerton.
She is survived by a son, John of Mill Creek; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Inurnment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Jeanne Bell
Jeanne Bell, 98, of Winslow died June 27, 2000, at Harrison Hospital of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 6, 1901, in Scotland to John and Mary Dobbie.
She married
Robert Bell. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Poulsbo.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Las Vegas; a sister, Beth Simmons of Victoria, British Columbia; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Florence, in 1974.
A memorial service is planned for 3 p.m. today at the Masonic Temple on Bainbridge Island. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Charles Ouellette
Charles Alex Ouellette, 95, of Poulsbo died June 27, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Oct. 25, 1904, in Redmond to Fred and Ellen (Trudeau) Ouellette.
He married
Margaret Patterson in 1928 in Poulsbo. She preceded him in death in 1979. He was then married
to Phyllis Isbell for 20 years. She preceded him in death in February.
Mr. Ouellette worked in lumber mills prior to working for the Washington State Department of Transportation. He retired in 1965.
He enjoyed working with antiques and collectibles.
He is survived by three sons, Charles A. of Montesano, Fred R. of Vacaville, Calif., and Robin of Aberdeen; a stepson, John Goldstein of Westport; a daughter, Charlene Callen Bonanaz of Oregon; a stepdaughter, Maxine Bruntzel of Poulsbo; 15 grandchildren; and 20 great-grandchildren.
Celebrations of life are planned for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the home of Virgil and Maxine Bruntzel, 14696 Central Valley Road NW, Poulsbo, and from 1 to 3 p.m. July 8 at Charles Ouellette's home, 907 Caldwell St., Montesano.
Cremation will take place at Cherry Grove Memorial Park. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove.

Phil Jensen
Phil M. Jensen, 102, of Port Orchard died June 28, 2000, at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center in Port Orchard.
He was born Feb. 20, 1898, in Chicago, to James Martin and Mona (Jensen) Jensen. He graduated from Ballard High School in 1917 and attended Washington State University in Pullman from 1922 to 1923.
He married
Mildred A. Taylor Brown on Sept. 7, 1924, in Seattle. She preceded him in death in 1995.
Mr. Jensen worked in the supply department at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 17 years. He also worked for 12 years as a bailiff for Kitsap County Superior Court.
He was a member of the Curley Creek Grange, the Sons of Norway and Colby United Methodist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Gaylord of Belfair and Roger of Port Orchard; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by a son, Rodney, in 1936, a brother and five sisters.
A reception and visitation are scheduled from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, also at Rill Chapel. Inurnment will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.

Eleanore Coons
Eleanore Coons, 85, of Bremerton died of natural causes June 27, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Aug. 20, 1914, in Seattle to Alfred and Anna Nelson. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle in 1933.
She was the bookkeeper and secretary for the Erlands Point Water Co. for nearly 50 years.
She had been involved in choir and music programs in Kitsap County.
Survivors include three sons, Steven of Seattle and Crag and Scott, both of Bremerton; a sister, Lavern Anderson of Lynnwood; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A private reception in her memory will be held at her home on July 9.
June Hart
June D. Hart, 60, of Belfair, died June 26, 2000, following a traffic accident on Highway 106.
She was born July 30, 1939, in Augusta, Maine, to Donald and Juliette (Violet) Nash.
She married
Gary Hart on Dec. 11, 1974, in Oak Harbor.
Mrs. Hart was a sales clerk for the Navy Exchange at the Naval Submarine Base Bangor.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Raymond Joseph Parzino of Vista, Calif.; two daughters, Linda Jean Parzino of California and Angela Marie Todd of Bremerton; and three grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. today at Hope Chapel in Shelton. Arrangements are under the direction of McComb Funeral Home in Shelton.

Ruby Kramer
Ruby Thompson Kramer, 94, of Bainbridge Island died June 17, 2000, of a lung disease at the home of her nephew, Gordon Wilson, on Bainbridge Island.
She was born March 22, 1906, on Bainbridge Island to Abraham and Anna (Arneson) Thompson. She graduated from high school on Bainbridge Island and attended Bellingham Nursing School.
Mrs. Kramer was a bookkeeper for The Bon Marche in Seattle for 25 years, retiring in 1968.
She was a member of Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church on Bainbridge Island.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Henry, Albin and Walter Thompson; and a sister, Helen Thompson Wilson.
A private celebration of life will be held this summer at the family home. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
