Frank Williams
Frank Alfred Williams, 83, of Rolling Bay died June 17, 2000, at the Bainbridge Island Health and Rehabilitation Center of liver failure.
He was born Oct. 13, 1916, in Rolling Bay to Frank Victor and Amanda "Emmi" (Majamaki) Williams. He graduated from Bainbridge High School in Winslow in 1935.
Mr. Williams served in the Army from 1942 to 1945.
He worked for Builder's Service in Winslow and then as a carpenter and cabinet maker for the Navy. He retired in 1978.
Mr. Williams was a member of the Bainbridge Island Senior Center.
He is survived by his sister, Edith Ostrom of Vashon Island.
Interment took place at Port Madison cemetery on Bainbridge Island.
Aldura Reed
Aldura Reed, 85, of Bremerton died June 25, 2000, at Naval Hospital Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 21, 1914, in Duchesne, Utah, to Frank Ellis Davis and Adeline Merkley.
She married
James Darrell Reed. He preceded her in death in 1984.
Mrs. Reed is survived by two sons, James Ronald of Redmond and Gary Ellis of Olympia; a sister, Jennie Ferguson of Bremerton; and four grandchildren.
A funeral service is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Leslie Hathaway
"Leslie" Christine Hathaway, 82, of Southworth died of natural causes June 24, 2000, in her home.
She was born June 13, 1918, in Grangeville, Idaho, to William and Clara (Knorr) Soltman. Her mother died shortly after her birth, and she was raised by her father and stepmother, Helen (Elmers) Soltman.
She graduated from Grangeville High School in 1934, attended the University of Idaho from 1934 to 1936, and graduated from Seattle Pacific University in 1965.
She married
Richard Hathaway Feb. 25, 1930, in Grangeville. He preceded her in death in 1986.
Mrs. Hathaway worked in the Seattle public schools. She enjoyed golfing and was a member of the Granite Curling Club in Seattle.
Survivors include two sons, Jeffrey of Port Orchard and Andrew of Seattle; a daughter, Barbara of Anacortes; a brother, Jack Soltman of Grangeville; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service for family and friends will be at her home at 1 p.m. July 8. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Catherine Harter
Catherine L. Harter, 71, of Bremerton died June 22, 2000, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center of natural causes.
She was born Oct. 5, 1928, in Milwaukee to Charles Eugene and Catherine T. (Buck) Wright.
She married
David W. Harter in April 1955. He preceded her in death in 1995.
Mrs. Harter enjoyed playing bingo and cards.
Survivors include two sons, Stephen and David Jr., both of Bremerton; two daughters, Catherine Haven of Port Orchard and Kimberly Hoffman of Savannah, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a brother, Peter Wright.
Inurnment will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Alfred Hansen
Alfred Raymond Hansen, 76, of Bremerton died June 23, 2000, at the Bremerton Convalescent Center.
He was born March 25, 1924, in Tracyton to Harry and Hannah (Johnson) Hansen. He attended Central Kitsap schools.
Mr. Hansen served in the Navy during the latter part of World War II. After his military service, he worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard until 1979, retiring as a tool and die maker.
He was a member of the American Legion.
His wife, Doris, preceded him in death in 1995.
He is survived by a daughter, Barbara of Bremerton; and a sister, Jeannette Myers of Bremerton.
At the family's request, there will be no services. Cremation arrangements are by Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Louise Quast
Louise Norman Quast, 81, of Poulsbo died June 25, 2000, at Martha & Mary Health Center in Poulsbo.
She was born Dec. 9, 1918, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Lewis Howard and Ocia Fern (McClure) Norman. She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Des Moines in 1937.
She owned and operated rental properties throughout Kitsap County for more than 20 years.
She enjoyed oil painting.
She is survived by a sister, Jean Cook of California. She was preceded in death by her son, David Bushnell, in 1997.
Cremation is by Cherry Grove Crematory with arrangements by Lewis Funeral Chapel in Bremerton.
Eileen Lopeman
Eileen Violet Lopeman, 78, of Port Townsend died June 23, 2000, in Port Townsend.
She was born March 22, 1922, in Gold Bar to William Franklin and Astrid (Johansen) Bishop. She graduated from Port Townsend High School in 1940.
She married
Ottie "Jiggs" Lopeman on Jan. 1, 1942, in Port Townsend. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Mrs. Lopeman enjoyed camping. She was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary and Community Methodist Church in Port Hadlock.
Survivors include four daughters, Janice Wills of Mount Vernon, Marilyn Peterson of Sequim, and Laura Snyder and Carolyn Allen, both of Port Hadlock; two brothers, Howey Bishop of Ferndale and Leonard Bishop of Bellingham; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visitation is planned for 2 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Kosec Funeral Home in Port Townsend. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Thursday at Community United Methodist Church. Interment
will take place at Greenwood cemetery in Chimacum.

Luis Lizama
Luis Tenorio Lizama, 50, of Bremerton died June 23, 2000, at Harrison Hospital of stomach cancer.
He was born Sept. 8, 1949, in Guam to Jose and Maria (Tenorio) Lizama. He graduated from George Washington High School in Guam.
He married
Gloria Garrido Quitugua on Feb. 12, 1996, in Bremerton.
Mr. Lizama enjoyed golfing and bowling. He was a member of the Catholic church.
He is survived by three sons, Jeffrey, Randy and Jessepio, all of Bremerton; a daughter, Anissha; a sister, Bernadita Lizama Blas; and three grandchildren.
Visitation is planned for 6:30 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Bremerton, followed by a rosary at 8 p.m. Visitation continues at 9:30 a.m. Friday at Holy Trinity with a rosary at 10 a.m. and a funeral Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park at 1 p.m. Friday.

Anna McLean
Anna Elizabeth McLean, 91, of Bremerton died June 25, 2000, in Bremerton of natural causes.
She was born April 27, 1909, in Clyde, N.D., to John and Elizabeth Plummer.
She married
Neil Dan McLean on Nov. 18, 1933, in Langdon, N.D. He preceded her in death.
She was a homemaker. She was a member of the Westside Garden Club and Christ the King Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include two sons, Dennis of Bremerton and Allan of Tacoma; two brothers, Ostle and George Plummer, both of Langdon; a sister, Isabelle Lowen of Minneapolis; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. She also was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Rohn, and a brother, Jack Plummer.
A graveside service is planned for 11 a.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park, followed by a 1 p.m. memorial service at Christ The King Lutheran Church.

Clyde McKinney
Former Bremerton resident Clyde Thomas McKinney, 83, of Yuma, Ariz., died June 19, 2000, in Yuma of a heart attack.
He was born June 17, 1917 in McKinney, Texas.
He married
Margaret Jackman on Aug. 18, 1939, in Las Cruces, N.M. She preceded him in death in 1996.
Mr. McKinney served in the Army from 1937 to 1957, achieving the rank of major.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard from 1957 until his retirement as a health benefits specialist in 1973.
Mr. McKinney was a member of Hood Canal Masonic Lodge 288 and the Order of the Eastern Star Belfair Chapter 241.
Survivors include a son, Richard of Bainbridge Island; a daughter, Carol of Bremerton; a brother, M.B. of San Angelo, Texas; and a sister, Ruby Faubion of Carlsbad, N.M.; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Floyd, Dillon, and Earl and by a sister, Opal Hoyt.
Private services will be held at a later date in Bremerton. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
Frances Sutton
Frances Grace "Toodles" Sutton, 88, of Bremerton died June 21, 2000, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born Sept. 21, 1911, in Helena, Mont., to Joseph and Frances (Warner) Higgins. She attended Lincoln High School in Seattle.
She married
Glenn C. Sutton on June 18, 1934, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1970.
Mrs. Sutton was a homemaker and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
She is survived by a son, C.G. "Mike" of Bremerton; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters, Bessie Palmer and Evelyn Cook, and a brother, Joseph Higgins.
At her request, there will be no funeral. Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at 2 p.m. also at Miller-Woodlawn.
