Ada Price
Ada Lee Price, 53, of Gig Harbor and formerly of Port Orchard, died June 16, 2000, in an accident.
She was born Feb. 28,
1947, in Bremerton to Harry and Lucille (Anaya) Sullivan. She graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1965.
She married
Doug Price on April 14, 1993, in Kehei, Maui, Hawaii.
Mrs. Price worked as a design technician at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 30 years, retiring in 1997.
She enjoyed riding motorcycles and entertaining others. She was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include her husband; her mother of Port Orchard; a son, Mark Vanshur of Gig Harbor; a stepson, Jeff Price of Summerland Key, Fla; two stepdaughters, Joan Barry of Olalla and Jolene Price of Twin Falls, Idaho; a brother, Gene Sullivan of Tacoma; a sister, Louella Biss of Port Orchard; and eight grandchildren.
Visitation will be held prior to a funeral Mass, which is planned for 11 a.m. Monday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Irene Wessel
Irene Hamm Wessel, 90, of Bremerton died June 21, 2000, at Port Orchard Care Center of complications from Alzheimer's disease.
She was born Oct. 12, 1909, in Muskegon, Mich., to John and Kate (Cooper) Hamm. She graduated from Muskegon High School in 1928, from Western State Teacher's College in Kalamazoo, Mich., in 1930 and from Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo in 1965.
She married
James Nordahl Wessel on Nov. 25, 1937, in Muskegon. He preceded her in death in 1979.
She taught elementary school in Michigan, in Bremerton and in the Central Kitsap School District for more than 20 years, retiring in 1970.
She enjoyed bridge and arts and crafts.
Survivors include three sons, James and Michael, both of Bremerton, and John of Seoul, Korea; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Wayne Granstrom
Wayne C. Granstrom, 58, of Poulsbo, died June 16, 2000, at his home after a long illness.
He was born Nov. 30, 1941, in Bremerton, to Emil and Birdie Granstrom. He graduated from North Kitsap High School in 1960.
Mr. Granstrom worked as a commercial fisherman for 15 years, then spent another 15 years in the bowling industry. He retired in 1999.
Survivors include a son, Matthew of Tacoma; and two grandchildren.

Elsie Mortenson
Elsie G. Mortenson, 90, of Bremerton, died June 17, 2000, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo after a long illness.
She was born Jan. 25, 1910, in Silverdale, to Adelbert and Edith (Heaton) Sprague. She graduated from Silverdale High School in 1928.
She married
Everett Mortenson. He preceded her in death in 1967.
She had worked as a cook and was retired. She enjoyed camping and gardening.
Survivors include three daughters, Norma Hoem of Silverdale, Barbara Crenshaw of Oakridge, Ore., and Elizabeth Gillett of Bremerton; a brother, John Sprague of Bremerton; 14 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.
Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel. Memorial donations may be made to Martha and Mary Health Care Center.
Cherryl Busey
Former Bremerton resident Cherryl W. Busey, 56, of Kent, died June 12, 2000, in Seattle. She was born June 19, 1943, in Bellingham to Norman and Ruby Funk. She married
John Busey on Feb. 16, 1974, in Bremerton.
Survivors include her husband; her parents of Bellevue; two sons, John Jr. of Seattle and Kelly of Gig Harbor; a daughter, Rebecca Werdall of Belfair; a brother, Charles Funk of Bellevue; a sister, Patti Miller of Auburn; and six grandchildren.

James Spencer
James H. Spencer, 55, of Port Orchard, died June 18, 2000, at his home of a heart attack.
He was born Aug. 11, 1944, in Seattle to Homer and Alice (MacLennan) Spencer. He graduated from Columbia High School in Richland in 1962 and from the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho in 1966. He married
Joanne Pfohl on Jan. 10, 1970, in Richland.
Mr. Spencer served in the Army, achieving the rank of sergeant. He received the Purple Heart.
He had worked as an insurance agent with Bratrud-Middleton Insurance in Bremerton for 26 years.
Mr. Spencer was a member of the Port Orchard Rotary Club. He coached youth baseball in S. Kitsap for many years.
Survivors include his wife; his parents of Richland; a son, Sean of Port Orchard; and two sisters, Patty Spencer of Port Townsend and Christy Peterson of Spokane.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at St. Gabriel Catholic Church in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home.

Andrew Forbes
Andrew Forbes, 87, of Bremerton died June 19, 2000, in Bremerton of natural causes.
He was born Sept. 9, 1912, in Vancouver, British Columbia. He married
Mary Jane O'Halloran. She preceded him in death in 1992.
Mr. Forbes worked in the sheet metal shop at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 37 years, retiring as a foreman in 1969. After his retirement, he was a custodian at Olympic College for five years.
He was a member of the Elks. He had been inducted into the Kitsap County Fastpitch Hall of Fame.
Survivors include a son, Robert of Bremerton; a daughter, Burnetta Myers of Bremerton; five grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sisters.
At his request, no service will be held. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
James Paris
James Henry Paris, 66, of Poulsbo, died June 15, 2000, at his home.
He was born May 20, 1934, in Los Angeles, to Ellis and Mary (Barnett) Paris. He graduated from Yakima High School and attended Yakima Valley Junior College, Washington State University and the University of Washington.
He married
Joan Barrett on Sept. 13, 1958, in Yakima.
Mr. Paris served in the Marine Corps from 1953-56, achieving the rank of sergeant. He received the National Defense Service Medal and the Korean Service Medal.
He was retired from a career in home renovation.
Survivors include his wife of Glendale, Calif.; two sons, Dirk of Woodinville and Todd of Ritzville, and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Scott, in 1970.
A memorial service is planned for 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. To celebrate his life, a gathering will follow the service at the Paris home, 4776 Lamms Lane NE in Poulsbo.
Jean Nelum
Jean M. Nelum, 65, of Bremerton died June 14, 2000, in Bremerton of natural causes.
She was born July 9, 1934, in England to Robert and Lilian (Beranger) Jamieson. She graduated from high school in Glasgow, Scotland.
She married
Charles Nelum in 1963 in Ayre, England. He preceded her in death in 1989.
Mrs. Nelum was a homemaker who enjoyed crocheting. She supported and attended Alcoholics Anonymous meetings.
She is survived by two sons, Charles and Michael, both of Sacramento, Calif.; one daughter, Tara of Port Orchard; and one grandchild.
There will be a gathering of family and friends at Jean's home in Bremerton. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Paul Weasner
Paul Dean Weasner, 63, of Bremerton died of a stroke June 15, 2000, at Forest Ridge Health and Rehabilitation Center.
He was born July 1, 1936, in Seymour, Ind., to Carl and Clara (Daniels) Weasner. He graduated from Shields High School in Seymour in 1954 and from Indiana University in Bloomington, Ind., in 1958. He also attended the University of Washington.
He married
Janet Elaine Howell on Aug. 25, 1957, in Fort Wayne, Ind.
Mr. Weasner was a systems engineer with Honeywell for 20 years, retiring in 1987.
He enjoyed computers and photography. He was a member of Abundant Life Foursquare Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Jeff of Bremerton; one daughter, Jennifer Kraupa of Lyons, Ore.; two brothers, Harold of New Jersey and Mike of Los Angeles; one sister, Shirley Young of Madison, Ind.; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 5 p.m. today at Abundant Life Foursquare Church. Arrangements are by Evergreen-Washelli Funeral Home in Seattle.

John Mills
John Austin Mills, 85, of Port Orchard died June 16, 2000, at Stafford Suites Assisted Living in Port Orchard.
He was born July 28, 1914, in Port Orchard to William and Mary Jane (Pattison) Mills. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1931 and from Western Washington College in Bellingham in 1937.
He married
Dorothy Grubb in 1942 in Maxwelton on Whidbey Island. She preceded him in death in 1965. He then married
Ardis (Hulin) Scribner in 1968 in Bremerton. She preceded him in death in 1995.
Mr. Mills was a sheet metal planner and estimator at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for more than 30 years. He retired in 1969.
He was a member of Kitsap County Campers and the Square Steppers, a square dancing group.
Mr. Mills is survived by a son, George of Toledo; a daughter, Marjorie Ryan of Albany, Ore.; a sister, Myrtle O'Brien of Greenville, Calif; seven grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. He also was preceded in death by his brother, Thomas Mills, and by his sister, Vivian Azmus.
Inurnment is by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A graveside service is planned for 11:30 a.m. July 15 at Sunset Lane cemetery.
