Keith Van Buskirk
Keith E. Van Buskirk, 63, of Bremerton died May 30, 2000, at Harrison Hospital of a heart attack.
He was born May 16, 1937, in Omaha, Neb., to Cyril and Helen (Kinney) Van Buskirk.
He graduated from Bremerton High School in 1956.
He served in the National Guard from 1956 to 1964, earning the rank of corporal. He worked in transportation with the Trident Refit Facility on the Naval Submarine Base at Bangor for 30 years until his retirement in 1995.
He married
Nancy Arionus on Feb. 27, 1959, in Bremerton.
He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Pinochle Club. He was a member of Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Danny and Deric, both of Kissimmee, Fla., and Darrell of Humble, Texas; one daughter, Debbie Caulfield of Bremerton; and three grandchildren.
Visitation was held Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Memorial Lutheran Church in Bremerton.

Helen Hudson
Helen N. Hudson, 97, of Bremerton died May 28, 2000, in Bremerton.
She was born Dec. 8, 1902, in Brooklyn, N.Y., to Mortimer E. and Emma E. (Hollis) Newcomb. She graduated from Elmira College in Elmira, N.Y., in 1924.
She married
Augustus Hudson on Nov. 4, 1934. He preceded her in death in 1989.
She was a homemaker. She had been a member of the American Association of University Women and the PEO Sisterhood.
She is survived by a nephew, Peter Newcomb of Puyallup.
Private inurnment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Florence Bishop
Florence Bishop, 92, of Bremerton died May 28, 2000, in Bremerton.
She was born Oct. 25, 1907 in Newton, Kan. She attended Newton High School and a junior college in Newton.
She married
Harold Bishop in Pratt, Kan. He preceded her in death in 1974.
She was a member of the Episcopal Church.
She is survived by one grandson. She was preceded in death by one son, Bill Bishop.
There will be graveside inurnment in Arkansas City, Kan. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Barbara Busby
Barbara M. Busby, 64, of Port Orchard died May 29, 2000, at SunBridge Care and Rehabilitation of Oyster Bay.
She was born Sept. 24, 1935 in Tampa, Fla., to Robert and Waneta (McQuaig) Norris.
She was a homemaker.
Survivors include two sons, Andrew White of Olalla and James Godfrey of Texas; two daughters, Gayle Norris and Pam Gagliano, both of New Jersey; and one brother, Ron Norris of Elizabeth Town, N.C.
Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Merril Larkin
Merril Larkin, 99, of Colorado Springs, Colo., and formerly of Bremerton, died May 23, 2000, at a care center in Colorado Springs.
He was born Nov. 11, 1900, in New Rockford, N.D., to Benjamin and Effie (Kennedy) Larkin.
He married
Agnes Soderholm on Oct. 25, 1923. She preceded him in death.
Mr. Larkin was the owner of the Modern Barber Shop in Bremerton for many years.
He is survived by one son, The Rev. James V. Larkin of Colorado Springs; one sister, Gladys Crosskill; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
Services were held at First Presbyterian Church in Colorado Springs. Inurnment took place at Lone Tree cemetery in Hayward, Calif.
Steven Iler
Steven LaRoy Iler, 45, of Suquamish, died May 31, 2000, at Harrison Memorial Hospital.
He was born Feb. 1, 1955, in Los Angeles, Calif., to Curtis and Evelyn (Cluckey) Iler. He graduated in 1973 from Garden Grove High School, Garden Grove, Calif.
Mr. Iler worked as a house painter and tile layer. He enjoyed cooking and tinkering. He married
Lucinda Wood on Oct. 30, 1999, at Indianola Community Church.
Survivors include his wife, of Suquamish; his father, of Hansville; two sons, Steven and Carl, both of Garden Grove, Calif.; one stepdaughter, Teresa M. DeLaRosa of Paris, France; and a sister, Vickie Hendricks of San Carlos, Calif. He was preceded in death by his mother.
A memorial service will be at 9 a.m. Sunday at Indianola Community Church. Cremation will be at Cherry Grove Memorial Park. Local arrangements are under the direction of Stone Chapel, Poulsbo Mortuary.

Marvin McCray
Marvin J. McCray, 89, of Bremerton died May 28, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born May 29, 1910, in Dover, Ill., where he attended high school.
He served in the Navy from 1928 to 1931. He was a ship's progressman at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1966 after 27 years.
He married
Nancy Lee on May 6, 1974, in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho.
He was a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employees and the Elks Club.
He is survived by his wife; one son, Harold of Tacoma; two daughters, Joeanne Therson of Arizona and Edna M. Sims of Port Orchard; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Lois Villalobos of Hayward, Calif.
A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at First Baptist Church in Port Orchard. Inurnment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Will Banks
Will Banks, 77, of Kingston died May 29, 2000, at his home.
He was born April 19, 1923, in Minnesota to Will and Rachael (Everett) Banks. He was educated in South Dakota.
He was a carpenter throughout his adult life.
He enjoyed making and flying model airplanes.
He is survived by one son, Terry of Oregon; one brother, Jean of Tolleson, Ariz.; and one sister, Edith Mansir of Los Angeles.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2138 Mesford Road in Poulsbo. Arrangements under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
John Swinnerton
John Joseph Swinnerton, 81, of Bremerton died May 26, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Feb. 8, 1919, in New York City, to John and Johanna (Carey) Swinnerton. He was educated in New York, graduating from high school there.
He served in the Army from 1940 to 1945, achieving the rank of sergeant. He received the Purple Heart.
He married
Viola Frawley on Nov. 4, 1945, in Long Island, N.Y.
He was a writer for the New York Daily News and a printer/engraver in Los Angeles. He was an artist.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Jon of Los Angeles; one daughter, Valerie Daniels of Bremerton; one sister, Edie Utley of New York City; one brother, Samuel of New York City; and eight grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Victoria Daniels.
A private family graveside service was held at Forest Lawn cemetery.
William Pagel
William L. Pagel, 75, of Bremerton died May 27, 2000, at Harrison Hospital from cancer.
He was born April 11, 1925, in Chehalis to Robert and Pearl (Hinkle) Pagel.
He served in the Coast Guard from 1943 to 1946, achieving the rank of seaman first class.
He married
Viola Sap on Feb. 26, 1944, in San Francisco. She preceded him in death in 1972.
He was a painter at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 28 years, retiring in 1971. He was a member of Gypsy Roamers and the National Association of Retired Federal Employees.
He married
Colleen (Surface) Sines on Aug. 11, 1972, in Bremerton.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Robert Pagel and James Sines, both of Bremerton; three daughters, Catherine Seyferth and Ramona Sines Pagel, both of Bremerton, and Janine Moore of Forks; eight grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
An open house will be from noon to 5 p.m. June 11 at the Pagel home. Interment
will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
