Ted Ingram
Ted Ingram, 87, of Bremerton died May 27, 2000, at his home.
He was born Nov. 27, 1912, in Laurel, Miss., to Buford and Pearl (Moss) Ingram. He graduated from high school in Mississippi.
Mr. Ingram served in the Navy from 1929 to 1939.
He owned the Bremerton Locker Club until entering law enforcement in 1941. He worked with the Bremerton Police Department for 30 years, retiring in 1971 as captain.
Mr. Ingram enjoyed the outdoors and gardening.
Survivors include his wife, Georgena (Wilson) Ingram; one son, Ed of Shelton; one sister, Mary Frances Flowers of Laurel; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. Cremation is by Cherry Grove Memorial Park with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Donald Van Ruth
Donald H. Van Ruth, 80, of Bremerton died May 26, 2000, in Bremerton of natural causes.
He was born May 11, 1920, in Nekooska, Wisc., to Harold and Anna Van Ruth.
He served in the Army from October 1940 to August 1945 and achieved the rank of staff sergeant. He was awarded the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with a bronze star and an Asiatic-Pacific Theater Service Medal.
He retired from his career as a tavern owner after 35 years.
His hobby was gardening.
He is survived by four sons, Jim of Poulsbo, and John, Joe and Jeff, all of Bremerton; two daughters, Judi Case of Bremerton and Lisa Olson of Bremerton; a brother, Art of Middleton, Wisc.; two sisters, Florence Roach and Bertha Behm, both of Wisconsin Rapids, Wisc.; his first wife, Iola Long; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his second wife, Iola Long Dorothy (Collins) Van Ruth, in 1997; a daughter, Jackie Van Ruth in 1953; three brothers, Chester, Wilfred and Lernard; and two sisters, Loretta Esser and Margaret Huston.
Visitation will start at 9 a.m. Wednesday at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. at Rill Chapel. Burial will be at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Ruth Cummings
Ruth E. Cummings, 75, of Kitsap County died May 23, 2000.
She was born Aug. 15, 1924, in South Dakota to Audie and Florence (Sampson) Harvill.
She worked as a day-care operator for 10 years, retiring in 1995. She enjoyed bowling and was a member of the Church of Christ.
She is survived by two sons, Paul of Hawaii and Carl R. Jr. of Kentucky; two daughters, Karen Howard of Port Orchard and Cheryl Starling of Kentucky; and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Carl R. Cummings, in March 1999.
Visitation will be from 1:30 to 2:15 p.m. Tuesday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 2:30 at Forest Lawn cemetery.

'Ed' Lobberegt
Clifford Edgar "Ed" Lobberegt, 76, of Hansville died April 29, 2000, at Messenger House Care Center on Bainbridge Island of complications from Parkinson's disease.
He was born Oct. 14, 1923, in west Seattle, to Joseph John and Gladys Irene (Moss) Lobberegt. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in Seattle in 1942 and attended Washington State University in Pullman.
He married
Gloria Vicki Stamatis on Aug. 4, 1947, in Seattle.
Mr. Lobberegt served in the Coast Guard from 1942 to 1945 and in the Coast Guard Reserve from 1945 to 1953. He achieved the rank of boatswain's mate first class.
He worked in sales for 28 years, retiring in 1975.
Mr. Lobberegt enjoyed sailing and participated in Boy Scouts.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Clifford E. Lobberegt Jr. of El Cerrito, Calif.; two daughters, Vikki Lee Lobberegt of Hansville and Kerri Lee McCracken of Bellevue; and four grandchildren.
At his request, no services will be held. His body will be donated to the University of Washington Medical Research Center.

Myrtle Rohrer
Myrtle M. Rohrer, 78, of Bremerton died May 25, 2000, in Bremerton.
She was born Aug. 5, 1921, in Cromwell, Minn., to Eugene and Lettie (Haldorson) Hill.
She married
Robert W. Rohrer on Sept. 3, 1947, in Duluth, Minn. He preceded her in death in 1997.
She had worked as a surgical technician at Harrison Hospital for 15 years.
Survivors include one daughter, Patricia McCauley of Bremerton; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
At her request, no services will be held. Inurnment will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Lloyd Granquist
Lloyd W. Granquist, 74, of Belfair died May 25, 2000, in Tacoma, of complications resulting from a fall.
He was born Oct. 20, 1925, in Port Orchard, to John Agnar Edwin and Edla Kristina (Engdahl) Granquist. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1943.
He married
Betty Jo Stanley on Aug. 17, 1946, in Bremerton.
Mr. Granquist served in the Army from 1944 to 1946, achieving the rank of sergeant. He was awarded a bronze star.
He worked for 17 years as a commissioner of a water and sewer district in Kitsap County. He was a general contractor for 35 years, retiring in 1988.
Mr. Granquist was a member of the Kiwanis Club. He enjoyed restoring antique cars.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Richard of Port Orchard; two daughters, Sandy Wanner of Hillsboro, Ore., and Kristina Steffen of Federal Way; two brothers, John of Seattle and Walt of Port Orchard; one sister, Agnita Cherry of Federal Way; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Carl.
A funeral service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. Interment
will take place at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard.

Arthur Pedersen
Commander Arthur S. Pedersen, USN (Ret.), 87, of Bremerton died May 23, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born June 18, 1912, in Tacoma, to Kristoffer and Laura (Larsen) Pedersen.
He married
Dorothy Mae Speaks on Sept. 1, 1934, in Tacoma.
He served in the Navy from 1929 until his retirement in 1971. He achieved the rank of commander, serving with the Navy Medical Services Corps.
Commander Pedersen was a member of the Retired Officers Association and the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
Survivors include his wife; one daughter, Nancy Ann Iverson of Coronado, Calif.; and two grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday at Mountain View Memorial Park in Tacoma. A funeral service with full military honors is planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday in the Garden Chapel at Mountain View Memorial Park.

Louis White
Former Port Orchard resident Louis Alan White, 86, of Garibaldi, Ore., died May 25, 2000 in Nehalem, Ore.
He was born Dec. 31, 1913, in Grove City, Ohio, to Lewis and Elizabeth (Bonseltzer) White.
Mr. White graduated from Long Beach Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, Calif., in 1931, from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, and from Pacific Bible Seminary in southern California.
Mr. White served in the Army from 1942 until his retirement in 1964, achieving the rank of lieutenant colonel and serving as a chaplain for 20 years. He was awarded three bronze stars and two Purple Hearts.
He married
Phyllis M. Waterman on May 9, 1966, in Virginia City, Nev.
He was a member of the Kiwanis Club in Port Orchard and volunteered at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil. He was Catholic.
Survivors include his wife; one son, David Alan White of San Francisco; one daughter, Claudia E. Metleff of San Francisco; one stepdaughter, Karen Muma of Garibaldi; and one grandchild.
His family plans a private scattering of his ashes at sea. Arrangements are under the direction of Ward's Funeral Home in Tillamook, Ore.

Stella Day
Stella Jaynes Day, 88, of Sequim died May 12, 2000, in Sequim of natural causes.
She was born Dec. 17, 1911, in Bremerton, to Earl A. and Myrtle (Niles) Jaynes. She attended Bremerton High School.
She married
William H. Loveless on March 5, 1934, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death.
She married
Clifton C. Day on May 18, 1963, in Salem, Ore. He preceded her in death in 1993.
She worked as a route mail carrier and telephone operator in Bremerton before becoming a homemaker after World War II.
She was a member of the Baptist church and enjoyed gardening and knitting.
Survivors include one son, Donald of Sequim; one sister, Earline (Jaynes) Jagger of Bremerton; nine grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service was held May 20 at Sequim Valley Chapel. Interment
took place May 24 at Restlawn cemetery in Salem.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Eula Blair
Eula Renee Blair, 39, of Bremerton died May 19, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born April 27, 1961, in Newport News, Va., to Eugene and Bessie (Stanley) Blair.
She graduated from Phoebus High School in Virginia in 1979, and attended Thomas Nelson College in Virginia and Olympic College.
She worked at Jackson Park Child Care Center and was an active member of Emmanuel Apostolic Church in Bremerton. She also enjoyed working with plants.
Survivors include her mother; a son, Shaquile of Bremerton; a daughter, Tanika of Bremerton; three sisters, Janice Blair and Monica Golden, both of Hampton, Va., and Crystal Golden of Fort Campbell, Ky; and two brothers, Eugene of Washington and William of Virginia.
Visitation will be from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Emmanuel Apostolic Church with an interment at Forest Lawn cemetery.
