MaKayla Tennesen
MaKayla Renae Tennesen, the infant daughter of Shana Renae Tennesen of Olalla, was stillborn April 25, 2000, in Tacoma.
She is survived by her mother and by her grandparents, Melinda and Robert Bondo of Olalla and David and Linda Tennesen.
A graveside funeral service is planned for 3 p.m. Monday at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Charlie Bell
Charles J. "Charlie" Bell, 65, of Port Orchard died April 28, 2000, at his home following a long battle with cancer.
He was born March 9, 1935, in Clarion, Iowa, to John and Laura (Brooks) Bell. He was raised in Clarion, Iowa, where he graduated from high school in 1954.
He married
Dorothy Simon on Sept. 26, 1959, in Bremerton.
Mr. Bell served in the Navy.
He worked as a machinist and plannerman in Shop 31 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, retiring in 1990.
Mr. Bell was actively involved in wrestling programs in South Kitsap, had been assistant wrestling coach at North Kitsap High School and served as head wrestling coach at Kingston Junior High School until his illness forced him to retire.
Survivors include his wife; his stepmother, Rose Bell of Clarion; one son, Gary Bell of Port Orchard; three daughters, Laura Bell of Silverdale and Kathy Bell and Sandy Griffin, both of Port Orchard; two sisters, Connie Anderson of Clarion and Kay Wilimek of Des Moines, Iowa; and six grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Christ the Rock Community Church in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel with cremation at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo and inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.

Eric Snider
Eric C. Snider, 20, of Silverdale died April 26, 2000, in Silverdale.
He was born Nov. 1, 1979, in Seattle, to Gerald and Ronda Snider. He was a 1998 graduate of Central Kitsap High School, having lived in Kitsap County all his life.
Mr. Snider served briefly in the Navy. He had worked as a parts salesman with Schucks Auto in Kirkland.
Survivors include his parents; one stepbrother, Eric Magnani of Georgia; one stepsister, Amisty Miller of California; his maternal grandmother, Joy Jean of Silverdale; and his paternal grandmother, Evelyn Snider of Concord, Calif.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, with inurnment at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Bruce Guldjord
Bruce Alan Guldjord, 74, of Poulsbo died April 27, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Aug. 21, 1925, in Pullman to Thor and Bessie (Newbrough) Guldjord. He grew up in Poulsbo, graduating from North Kitsap High School in 1943, and attended Oswald Business School in Seattle.
He married
Sue B. McManus on Sept. 3, 1948, in Poulsbo.
Mr. Guldjord served in the Navy with the Seabees during World War II. He enlisted in the National Guard in 1947, serving in the Poulsbo area until his retirement in 1986.
While in the National Guard, he worked at the Naval Torpedo Station at Keyport as a supply technician. He retired from Keyport in 1980 after 29 years.
Mr. Guldjord was a member of the American Legion in Poulsbo for 20 years, the Starbucks Club, the Sons of Norway and First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo. He was also a volunteer ambulance driver for many years.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Rory Guldjord of Seattle; two daughters, Jan Seifert, Becky Deeter and Tina Davis, all of Poulsbo; seven grandchildren, Jim and Heather Seifert, Aimmee Hagedorn, Maggi Pariera, Rene Reidinger, and Jeff and Derek Deeter; and six great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church in Poulsbo, with private family interment at the First Lutheran Church cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society, the Harrison Hospital Oncology Unit or to the American Cancer Society.
William Powell
William Lewis Powell, 72, of Sequim died April 18, 2000, in Seattle.
He was born Sept. 26, 1927, in Centralia, to Roy and Leona (Lewis) Powell. He grew up in the Yakima Valley, graduating from Selah High School in 1945 and attending Washington State University, where he studied pomology.
He married
Beverly A. Matson on Jan. 14, 1949, in Selah.
Mr. Powell served in the Navy as a pharmacist's mate at the United States Naval Hospital in Long Beach, Calif. He also served in San Diego and Seattle.
Mr. Powell was a fruit rancher in the Yakima Valley, later becoming a salesman for Boise Cascade, the owner of a construction company and Powell Nursery in Sequim.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Craig Powell of Kingston, Bryce Powell of Bainbridge Island and Aaron Powell of Spokane; one daughter, Emily Drake of Bainbridge Island; four brothers, Earl Powell of Bellingham, Emerson Powell of Boise, Idaho, Fred Powell of Sequim and Robert Powell of Reno, Nev.; one sister, Loretta Tuttle of Newport; 10 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by a brother, Jim.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Kingston Christian Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.

Buck Beamer
Ralph R. "Buck" Beamer, 80, of Kingston died April 21, 2000, in Kingston of cancer.
He was born July 4, 1919, in Renton, to Dudley M. and Ida C. (Sommerfeldt) Beamer. He grew up in Renton, graduating from Foster High School in Tukwila in 1938.
Mr. Beamer served in the Army Air Corps from 1939 to 1945.
He and his wife, Ethel, were married
Jan. 27, 1945, in Seattle.
He was retired from a career as a machinist.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Pete Beamer of Mooresville, N.C.; two daughters, Chris Otterson and Corrie Urquhart, both of Kent; four sisters, Virginia Pozzi of Kent, Betty Daus of Tacoma, Marianne Reano of Renton and Grayce Thomas of Edmonds; and five grandchildren, Brittany and Tyson Beamer, both of California, Kimberli and Kevin Urquhart, both of Kent, and Brooklyn Beamer of North Carolina.
A celebration of his life is planned for 1 p.m. May 6 at the home of Corrie Urquhart, 26913 138th Ave. SE in Kent. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.

Helen Olsen
Helen Eileen Olsen, 68, of Poulsbo died April 25, 2000, in Silverdale.
She was born Feb. 16, 1932, in Lexington, Neb., to Clarence R. and Ruby M. (Barker) Castleberry.
She married
Dale K. Olsen on Jan. 27, 1953, in Port Angeles.
Survivors include two sons, Dale Olsen Jr. of Poulsbo and Danny Olsen of Seattle; one daughter, Sheryl Nan of Tacoma; seven sisters, Barbara, Bonnie, Dianna, Lillian Kay, Nancy, Connie and Betty Jean; and three grandchildren.

Mary Heagle
Mary Rutz Heagle, 82, of Bremerton died April 26, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 4, 1917, in Culbertson, Neb., to Phillip and Elizabeth (Schafer) Rutz.
She married
Alexander Heagle in 1937, in Harden, Mont.
Mrs. Heagle had worked as a nanny. She had served as a PTA president, and a Brownie and Girl Scout leader.
She was a member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Bremerton.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1975. Survivors include two daughters, Joni Drake of Allyn and Susan Lair of Minneapolis; two sisters, Lee Edmonds of Pomona, Calif., and Esther Hockhaltor of Hazel Dell; two brothers, Elmer "Al" Rutz of Kaiserslautern, Germany, and Harold Rutz of Pueblo, Colo.; four grandchildren, Dean and Aaron Smith and Kristina and Alexis Lair; and three great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, with a graveside service following at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Helen Sanders
Helen Doris Sanders, 77, of Colville died April 25, 2000, in Colville of non-small cell lung carcinoma. She was a 62-year resident of Bremerton, having lived in Colville for 15 years.
She was born Jan. 11, 1923, in Doty, to Pete and Hazel (Thompson) Cheplak. She grew up in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School.
She married
Charles W. Sanders. Mrs. Sanders was a homemaker.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Larry and Charles Sanders, both of Colville; four daughters, Sandra Chizek of Lovell, Wyo., Joanne Daniel of Atlanta, Texas, and Shirley Sanders and Patty Moorehead, both of Colville; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
No services are planned. Inurnment will take place at Mountain View Park cemetery in Colville. Arrangements are under the direction of Danekas Funeral Chapel in Colville.

Glenda Cook
Glenda E. Cook, 88, of Manchester died April 27, 2000, at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard of respiratory failure.
She was born Aug. 12, 1911, in Hollywood, Calif., to Fred H. and Jennie (Lutes) Girvin. She grew up in Simi Valley, Calif. and in Hollywood, graduating from Hollywood High School in 1927, and attending the University of California at Los Angeles.
She married
Clyde Cook on June 2, 1940, in Nevada.
Mrs. Cook had worked as a bookkeeper at Byrd's Market in Grants Pass, Ore., for 17 years, retiring in 1976. Previously, she worked for Golden Rule Department Store and for Rogue Valley Poultry, both in Grants Pass.
She was a member of St. Anne's Catholic Church in Grants Pass.
Her husband preceded her in death in 1969. Survivors include three sons, Fred Hale of Hatteras, N.C., Roy Hale of La Plata, Md. and Dick Cook of Manchester; one brother, Dick Girvin of Laguna Hill, Calif.; nine grandchildren in Utah, California, Colorado, Maryland, Virginia, Washington, D.C., and Missouri; and nine great-grandchildren.
A graveside service is planned for 9 a.m. Tuesday at Hawthorne Memorial Gardens in Grants Pass, with interment also in Grants Pass. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Michael Heidner
Michael J. Heidner, 43, of Port Orchard died April 15, 2000, of a heart attack suffered near Bremerton.
He was born Sept. 12, 1956, at the U.S. Naval Base at Subic Bay in the Philippines, to Floyd and Andrea (Villar) Heidner. He was raised in Subic Bay, graduating from George Dewey High School in 1975.
Mr. Heidner served in the Army from 1977 to 1978 and had attained the rank of sergeant when he received an honorable discharge for medical reasons. He also served in the Army Reserves for five years, achieving the rank of major.
Mr. Heidner was working for M. Rosenblatt & Son/AMSEC in Bremerton at the time of his death.
Survivors include his wife, Debra M. of Lakeside, Calif.; a daughter, Angela Heidner of Lakeside; a son, Michael II of Lakeside; his parents, Floyd and Andrea of Port Orchard; three brothers, Melchor of San Jose, Calif., Salvador of Bremerton and Darren of Port Orchard; and a sister in Guam.
Inurnment will be at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent at 2 p.m. Friday. Arangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Charlotte Welsh
Charlotte R. Welsh, 85, a longtime resident of Bainbridge Island died
April 24, 2000, in Tacoma while recovering from a stroke.
She was born Dec. 14, 1914, in Deschutes County, Ore., to Charles Montieth Redfield and Mary Lydia FitzMaurice Redfield. She graduated with a degree in home economics in 1936 from Oregon State College in Corvallis, Ore.
She married
Charles Edward Welsh in April 1938, in Portland, Ore.
Mrs. Welsh traveled with her husband during his Army career, and living throughout the United States, Europe and Asia and retiring to Bainbridge Island.
She was the founding editor of Reconnaissance Magazine in Fort Leavenworth, Kan., and has authored a number of historical fiction books.
Mrs. Welsh was a Helpline House volunteer, and a member of Wing Point Golf and Country Club on Bainbridge Island, the University Women's Club and Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church on Bainbridge Island. She served on the church's altar guild.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday at Saint Barnabas Episcopal Church, with a reception to follow.
