Alyce Mero
Alyce P. Mero, 72, of Bremerton died April 18, 2000.
She had lived in Bremerton for 23 years. She was a former resident of Port Angeles and Burien.
She was born Aug. 19, 1927, in New London, Conn.
Survivors include her husband of 53 years, Jack; two daughters, Diane Richter of Federal Way and Suzanne Salazar of Bellingham; and five grandchildren.
At her request, no service is planned. Memorial donations may be made to Children's Hospital or to Harborview Medical Center.
Cecelia Anderson
Cecelia J. Anderson, 87, of Port Orchard died April 23, 2000, at Ridgemont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born Sept. 10, 1912, in Roslyn, N.Y., to Stanley and Victoria (Kozlowski) Gronoski. She was raised there and on Long Island, N.Y.
She married
Otto Anderson on Sept. 6, 1940, in Elkton, Md. He died in 1991.
She was a homemaker.
She is survived by one son, Charles of Port Orchard; two daughters, Janice Crawford of Bremerton and Sandy Campbell of Port Orchard; a brother, Edward Gronoski of Florida; two granddaughters; and two great-grandchildren.
Her husband; a son, Otto III; and a sister and brother preceded her in death.
There will be no services. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choosing.
Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel is handling arrangements.
Jean Corrigan
Wilma "Jean" Corrigan, 70, of Poulsbo died April 20, 2000, in Bremerton.
She was born May 14, 1929, in Milo Township, Mille Lacs County, Minn., to Roy and Wilma (Britton) Atkinson. She was raised there and graduated from Milaca High School in 1947.
She received her Associate of Arts degree from St. Cloud State University.
She married
Lawrence E. Corrigan on Feb. 18, 1950, in Foley, Minn.
Mrs. Corrigan was a homemaker and an elementary and special education teacher who worked with mentally handicapped children and adults. She used sign language to communicate with her students.
She was a member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church, St. Catherine's Society and the Legion of Mary. She also was active with the Respect Life program and participated in marches in Bremerton and Olympia.
She is survived by her husband; a son, Thomas of Riverside, Calif.; three daughters, Nancy Thouvenell of Upland, Calif., Mary Minjares of Vancouver, Wash., and Susan Ogilvie of Poulsbo; three brothers, Clinton and Dale Atkinson, both of Minnesota, and Wayne Atkinson of Illinois; 13 grandchildren and one great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, John, in 1978.
A rosary will be recited at 1:15 p.m. Wednesday at St. Olaf's Catholic Church, followed by a funeral mass at 2 p.m. A reception will follow the Mass. Burial will be at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Cherry Grove Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to the Catholic Relief Society.
Walter Hardman
Walter T. Hardman, 77, of Shelton died April 16, 2000, in Shelton of cancer.
He was born Feb. 15, 1923, in Walnut, Kan., to Claude and Nettie Hardman.
He married
Clara M. Whitehead on Sept. 30, 1942, in Seattle.
He enlisted as a paratrooper in the Army in 1943 and was discharged in 1945. He served in Europe as first sergeant first class of the 82nd Airborne Division, 101st battalion.
He worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 36 years, retiring in 1975.
Mr. Hardman was a member of the American Legion, the Port Orchard Yacht Club and the Queen Valley Golf Association in Queen Valley, Ariz.
He is survived by his wife; three sons, Tom of Owensboro, Ky., Mike of Shelton and Rob of Port Orchard; a daughter, Linda Deel of Shelton; two sisters, Claudine Tillotson of Springfield, Ore., and Pat Swearingen of La Center; 11 grandchildren, all of Washington; and 10 great-grandchildren.
No services will be held.

Alverna Smith
Alverna Smith, 79, of Mesa, Ariz., died April 18, 2000.
She was born Jan. 2, 1921, in Wilburton, Okla. She moved to Arizona after living in Port Orchard.
Before retiring, she was the housekeeping supervisor at a rest home for more than 30 years.
She is survived by a daughter, Carolyn Greve of Mesa; two grandchildren, Adam Greve of Maple Valley and Stacy Marsden of Mesa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother.
A funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Center Point Church in Oklahoma. Arrangements are being handled by Mesa Funeral Care.
Swede Moore
Leland "Swede" Moore, 70, of Belfair died April 21, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Sept. 9, 1929, in Renton to Lester and Rana (House) Moore. He graduated from South Kitsap High School in 1947.
He served in the Air Force for four years as an airman and radar technician, and worked as a switchman with Pacific Northwest Bell for 30 years, retiring in 1985.
He married
Dorothy Rickard on Nov. 24, 1961, in Bremerton.
Mr. Moore played for more than 30 years with the Bremerton Fastpitch City League. He served as president of the Kitsap Old Timers Association for eight years, and was elected to the Kitsap Old Timers Hall of Fame in 1991. He also was a member of the Gold Mountain Men's Club.
He is survived by his wife; a son, Thomas of Belfair; three daughters, Cindy Anderson and Kimberly Orlob, both of Belfair, and Wendy Moore of Silverdale; two brothers, Marvin of Port Orchard and Jim of Tacoma; a step-brother, Jack Hochhaus of Vancouver, Wash.; two sisters, Hilda Figgins of Lynnwood and Phyllis Wilson of Idaho; seven grandchildren, Olof, Abel and Luke Anderson, all of Allyn, Austin Moore of Silverdale and Justin, Shileah and Savannah Orlob, all of Belfair. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Dale and Everett.
A visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Rill Chapel.
Burial will be at Sunset Lane cemetery.

Jesse Smith
Jesse W. Smith, 92, of Bremerton died April 20, 2000, at SunRise Care & Rehabilitation of Oyster Bay.
He was born March 21, 1908, in Stranton, Kan., to Edward and Hatie (Markley) Smith.
He worked as a logger in Idaho and later worked for a railroad company. He worked in the janitorial department at the Washington Veterans' Home at Retsil, until retiring in the 1980s.
He is survived by two sons, Floyd of Poulson, Mont., and Joseph of Silver Springs, Nev.; a stepdaughter, Marlene Malone of Plattsmouth, Neb.; and a brother, Elvin of Poulson. He was preceded in death by his wife, Zona (Morris) Smith, on Jan. 30; a daughter, Elizabeth Cann; and a sister, Opal McNiell.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m to 5 p.m. Monday at Rill Chapel. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Rill Chapel. Burial will follow at Sunset Lane cemetery.
Francis Muller
Francis Muller, 89, died April 19, 2000, at Martha and Mary nursing home in Poulsbo.
He was born in Eugene, Ore., Aug. 21, 1910, to Augustus and Julia (Olson) Muller. He attended the University of Oregon and was employed for many years as an accountant at Pan American Airways in Miami, Fla.
Survivors include his wife, Helen, of Silverdale; a daughter, Pat Lardner of Silverdale; two grandchildren, Ginni Hubbard of California and Tom Lardner Jr. of Maryland; and one great-grandson.
At his request, there will be no services. Arrangements are by Kass Funeral Home on Bainbridge Island.
Jesse Bullock
Jesse Earl Bullock, 29, of Port Orchard, died April 19, 2000, in Union.
He was born May 19, 1970, in Port Angeles to Cindy Rudolph. He spent his childhood in Port Angeles and attended South Kitsap High School.
Mr. Bullock was a brush picker with Pacific Evergreen and also worked as a landscaper.
Survivors include his mother, Cindy Bray of Manchester, and his grandfather, Donald E. Rudolph of Port Angeles. He was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Hampton.
Visitation will be Tuesday at 9 a.m. at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard, with a memorial service at 2 p.m. in the same location. Arrangements are by Pen-dleton-Gilchrist at Rill Chapel.
Marian Pratt
Marian Glenna Pratt, 80, of Tahuya, died April 19, 2000, in Tahuya.
She was born Sept. 14, 1919, in Irving Flats, Mont. She graduated from Hot Springs High School in Montana and attended Kinman Business School in Spokane for two years. She worked for the State Department in Washington, D.C., during World War II. She married
Alvin C. Pratt in Hot Springs on June 6, 1945. They later lived in Kirkland, and she worked for Washington Credit, Inc. Following retirement in 1982, they moved to Tahuya.
Mrs. Pratt was active in Bellevue Soroptomists, Job's Daughters, Tahuya Community Club and Shorebook Community Club.
She was preceded in death by her husbnad in 1985 and by a daughter, Patricia, in 1976.
Survivors include a son William Pratt of Ridgefield; a daughter, Candace Decauwer of Marina del Ray, Calif.; sisters Kathleen Pruter of Auburn and Dorothy Marich of Grass Valley, Calif.; and four grandchildren, Christopher, Tricia and Lindsey Pratt and Kenneth Decauwer.
A memorial service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at St. Nicho-las Episcopal Church in Tahu-ya. Private burial will be at Sun-set Hills Memorial Park in Bellevue.
Lucas Hayward
Lucas Gareth Hayward, son of Walter Hayward and Sherrie Moore of Bremerton, died at birth April 16, 2000, at Harrison Memorial Hospital in Bremerton.
He is survived by his parents.
A memorial service will be held Monday at 3 p.m. at Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Florence G. Smith
Florence G. Smith, 81, of Bremerton died April 19, 2000, at Forest Ridge Convalescent Center.
She was born May 21, 1918, in Wailuku on the Hawaiian island of Maui to Antone and Virginia (Rodriquez) Gomes.
She married
Carl Smith on Oct. 1, 1955, in Yuma, Ariz.
Mrs. Smith was active in leadership roles in Masonic organizations for women, VFW auxiliary groups and senior league bowling.
Survivors include her husband; a son, Homer H. Davison of San Jose, Calif.; a sister, Margaret Lake of Honolulu, Hawaii; a brother, David Mendoza of Kona, Hawaii; grandchildren, Delores Peterson, Debra Davison and Heather Richards; and one great-grandchild.
