Rose Easter White, 84, of Port Orchard died March 19, 2000, in Port Orchard.
She was born April 4, 1915, in Newport News, Va.
She was a nurse's aide at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil. She was retired.
Survivors include her husband, James White; three daughters, Pam Tucker and Patti McKee of Port Orchard, and Sharon Edwards of Silverdale; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bible Baptist Church in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.

Alan Winslow
Alan S. Winslow, 68, of Bremerton died March 18, 2000, at his home.
He was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Melrose, Mass., to Lloyd and Grace Winslow. He graduated from high school in Melrose.
Mr. Winslow served in the Air Force in Korea.
He married
Barbara Peterson on Feb. 14, 1953, in Wickenberg, Ariz.
Mr. Winslow was an electronics technician at the Keyport Naval Torpedo Station.
Survivors include his wife; and one son, Larry of Bremerton.
At his request, there will be no services. Inurnment will take place at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Margaret Sherar
Margaret E. Sherar, 83, of Bremerton died March 18, 2000, at Tacoma General Hospital of natural causes.
She was born July 23, 1916, on Whidbey Island, to Jacob and Mary (Johnson) Lauth. She grew up in Suquamish, graduating from North Kitsap High School.
She married
Percy R. Sherar on Nov. 13, 1951, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1998.
She was a homemaker and the former office director and chairperson of the March of Dimes of Kitsap County; a former PTA president; a member of the Eastern Star, participating in Job's Daughters; a life member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 239 in Bremerton (past Loyalty Day Queen, past Veterans Day Queen, past District Four president and past president of the Cooties).
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Bower of New Orleans, Sharon Jacobsen of Silverdale and Patty Haver of Port Orchard; one brother, Richard Lauth of Santee, Calif.; 10 grandchildren, William Micklin of San Francisco, Connie Kaufman, Karen Bodker and Ronald Micklin, all of New Orleans, Jill Jaspers of Edmonds, Jon Jacobsen of Vaughn, James Jacobsen of Bellingham and Mathew, Daniel and Joshua Haver, all of Port Orchard; and eight great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled for 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. A gathering for family and friends will follow the service at VFW Post 239, 190 S. Dora in Bremerton. Interment
will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Margaret Mickelson
Margaret Mickelson, 81, of Jamestown, N.D., died March 11, 2000, at Hi-Acre Manor in Jamestown.
She was born Nov. 23, 1918, in Wilton, N.D., to Walter and LaVonne (Williams) Coombs.
Survivors include two sons, Michael Hastings of Kingston and Brian Mickelson of Fargo, N.D.; two daughters, Barbara Monson of Jamestown and Mary Jo Sparke of Detroit; one step-daughter, Karol Heffernan of Grand Forks, N.D.; two sisters, Ethelyn Pepple of Tacoma and Myrl Doerr of Jamestown; two brothers, Sidney Coombs of Garden City, Kan., and Edward Coombs, Martin, N.D.; 11 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Melvin Hastings, and her second husband, Oscar Mickelson.
A memorial service was held March 14 in Jamestown. Interment
will take place at Highland Home cemetery in Jamestown at a later date.
Donald Berend
Donald R. Berend, 76, of Des Moines, Wash., died March 18, 2000, from diabetes and heart disease.
Mr. Berend was an optometrist in the Seattle/Tacoma area for 35 years, retiring in 1994.
Survivors include his wife, June; two sons, Dave of Seabeck and Jeff of Glenwood; one daughter, Linda Tronson of California; two stepsons, Ray Patch of Bellevue and Dan Patch of Kent; one stepdaughter, Renatta Bowen of Gig Harbor; and many grandchildren.
A memorial Mass is planned for 1:30 p.m. Saturday at St. Philomena Catholic Church, 17900 South 222nd St. in Des Moines.

Luther Carter
Luther Carter, 88, of Bremerton died March 17, 2000, at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard.
He was born Feb. 9, 1912, in Marshall, Texas, to John and Laura Carter. He was raised and educated in Texas. He was a longtime resident of Shreveport, La.
He worked 39 years for the Kansas City Southern Railroad, retiring in 1979 as a brakeman.
Survivors include one son, James of Alameda, Calif.; one daughter, Laura Solomon of Bremerton; his first wife, Oralena Clemons of Oakland, Calif.; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his second wife, Frangella, in 1976; by a son, Glendon "Bill"; and by three sisters and two brothers.
A family memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Ebenezer African Methodist Episcopal Church, 902 Park Ave. in Bremerton.
Susan Montgomery
Susan Lynn Montgomery, 44, of Seabeck died March 20, 2000, at her home.
She was born Dec. 20, 1955, in San Anselmo, Calif., to Stan and Lynn (Parson) Payton. She attended school at St. Ann Selm's Catholic School in California, graduating in 1973.
She married
William Montgomery on May 20, 1978, in Lofall Park.
Mrs. Montgomery was the owner and manager of The Diner restaurant in Poulsbo.
Survivors include her husband; her parents, now of San Rafael, Calif.; one son, Wes of Seabeck; one daughter, Allison of Seabeck; one sister, Jenny Payton of Mt. Shasta, Calif.; three brothers, Michael Payton of Cotati, Calif., Patrick Payton of California and Steve Parsons of Petaluma, Calif.; and one grandchild.
A memorial service is planned for 4 p.m. Saturday at Unity Church of Bremerton. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel at Cherry Grove Memorial Park in Poulsbo.

George Gallagher I
George William Gallagher I, 74, a Gig Harbor resident since 1974, died March 21, 2000.
He was a longtime employee of Puget Sound Naval Shipyard.
Survivors include his wife, Cindy; five sons, George II, Patrick, Martin, Danny and Kelly; two daughters, Mickie Heinzelman and Sue Mantzoros; two stepchildren, Laurie and David; one brother, Bob; and 12 grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Gordon, Jerry and Joe.
A memorial service is planned for 11 a.m. Friday at Haven of Rest Chapel, Highway 16 in Gig Harbor. Interment
will take place at Tahoma National cemetery in Kent.
Margle Millholland
Margle Manerva Millholland, 91, of Port Orchard died March 18, 2000, in Port Orchard.
She was born July 14, 1908, on Vashon Island to Homer and Cleo (Mason) Ackerman. She was educated in Spanaway.
She married
Ernest Millholland. He preceded her in death.
Mrs. Millholland was a homemaker. She had worked as a nursing assistant at the Washington Veterans Home in Retsil for several years.
Survivors include three sons, Miles Johnson of Brownsville, Ore., Dale Johnson of Moxee and Delbert Johnson of Spanaway; two daughters, Norene Avery of Bremerton and Linda Passant of Stuttgart, Ark.; 20 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. She also was preceded in death by a daughter, Aleen Avery.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to noon Saturday at Lewis Funeral Chapel, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. Burial will take place at Haven of Rest Memorial Park in Gig Harbor at a later date.

Berniece Hendrickson
Berniece Hendrickson, 86, of Port Orchard died
March 16, 2000, at Ridgemont Terrace in Port Orchard.
She was born April 20, 1913, in Hamilton, Ontario, Canada, to Frederick and Ethel (Ladd) Clark. She moved to Seattle in 1920, graduating from West Seattle High School in 1931.
She married
Gordon V. Hendrickson on June 7, 1934, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1988.
Mrs. Hendrickson was a homemaker. She was a member of the Trailer Roamers Club of Kitsap County, the Harper Southworth Mothers Club, the Harper Southworth Garden Club, the Harper Southworth Community Club and the Dr. Allen Orthopedic Guild. She attended Harper Evangelical Free Church in Port Orchard.
Survivors include two sons, Allan of Harper and Dennis of Renton; two daughters, Lynne Hunsaker of Port Orchard and Kristi Parker of Long Lake. She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ross and Loren Clark; one sister, Dorothy Clark Heller; and two grandsons, Nickolas and Ross Hendrickson.
A memorial service is planned for 2 p.m. Sunday at Harper Evangelical Free Church. Inurnment will take place at Sedgwick cemetery in Port Orchard. Arrangements are by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

Sandi Nunley
Sandra L. "Sandi" Nunley, 56, of Port Orchard died March 20, 2000, in Port Orchard.
She was born Sept. 21, 1943, in Boise, Idaho, to Robert and Ida (Shearer) Vail. She grew up in Portland, Ore., graduating from Cleveland High School there in 1961.
She married
Leo Nunley on Dec. 31, 1966, in Sanford, Fla.
Mrs. Nunley worked as a security assistant at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard, from 1984 until her retirement in 1999.
Survivors include her husband; her father; one son, Michael of Port Orchard; one daughter, Jenifer Short of Gresham, Ore.; two sisters, Connie Davison of Rhododendron, Ore., and Linda MacMillan of Portland; two grandchildren; and two step-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel. A funeral service is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday also at Rill Chapel. Interment
will take place at 1 p.m. April 1 at Rock Creek cemetery in Duncan, Okla.
