Nelda Reid
Nelda B. Reid, 84, of Bremerton died March 1, 2000, at her home.
She was born Aug. 13, 1915, in Bitter Lake to Julian and Josephine (Miner) Beeching. She graduated from Bremerton High School in 1933. She received a degree from Olympic College in 1963.
She married Thomas E. Reid on May 5, 1934, in Bremerton. Mrs. Reid had been a homemaker throughout her marriage.
For years, Mr. and Mrs. Reid taught square dancing and folk dancing to both children and adults. In March of 1969, the Business and Professional Women presented her with their Woman of Achievement award.
Survivors include her husband; one son, Spike of Poulsbo; one daughter, Nelda Robbins of Wenatchee; five grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
Visitation is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at Lewis Funeral Chapel with a graveside service following at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Memorial donations may be made to 2nd Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 2225 Perry Ave., Bremerton, WA 98310.

Henry Finke
Henry W. Finke, 95, of Port Orchard died March 3, 2000, at Ridgemont Terrace Care Center in Port Orchard.
He and his wife, Effie, moved from Minnesota to Washington in 1967. She preceded him in death in 1991 after 62 years of marriage.
Survivors include five children, Ding Farr of Port Orchard, Wendell Finke of Renton, Gloria Norgard of Winnebago, Minn., Vernell Newman of Grand Rapids, Minn., and Richard Finke of Albert Lea, Minn.; five sisters; three brothers; 15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Viewing is scheduled for 1 to 8 p.m. today at Haven of Rest Funeral Home in Gig Harbor. A private graveside service is planned for 10 a.m. Wednesday at Haven of Rest Memorial Park, with a memorial service following at 1 p.m. at Grace Bible Church.
Memorial donations may be made to Grace Bible Church, 7070 Bethel Burley Road SE, Port Orchard, WA 98367.

Robert Kimball
Robert Eugene Kimball, 72, of Poulsbo died March 1, 2000, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center in Poulsbo.
He was born Sept. 18, 1927, in Bremerton to Ernest and Margaret (Erstad) Kimball. He lived in Manette and Tracyton, where he was educated.
He married Isabell (Jack) Kimball on Dec. 25, 1948, in Bremerton.
He was self-employed as a brickmason contractor.
Survivors include his wife; his mother, Margaret Kimball of Silverdale; three sons, Melvin of Bremerton, and William and Robert, both of Poulsbo; a daughter, Christine Nash of Thorne Bay, Alaska; a sister, Shirley Jones of Poulsbo; and nine grandchildren, Sarah and Mary Nash, both of Thorne Bay, and Timothy, Mason, Corrinne, Joshua, Christine, Isaac and Rachel Kimball, all of Poulsbo.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. today at Christ Memorial Church in Poulsbo. Private interment will be at Forest Lawn cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.
Memorials may be made to Christ Memorial Church, 8th & Hostmark, Poulsbo, WA 98370.

Jean Parks
Jean Marie Parks, 71, of Bremerton died Feb. 15, 2000, during a visit to California.
She was born Nov. 5, 1928, in San Francisco. She graduated from Covina Union High in Covina, Calif., in 1946, and worked at an insurance company for six months. For the remainder of her life, she was a homemaker.
She is survived by a daughter, Claudia Hyde of Bremerton; a son, Bruce of San Diego; a sister, Lorna Yanowski of California; four grandchildren, Melissa Dugan of Bremerton, Allan and Erica Parks of San Marcos, Calif., and Melinda Fuller of Chesapeake, Va.; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a twin sister, Joan Edson; another sister, Carol; and a brother, Lloyd.

Alfred Brown
Alfred Loren Brown, 92, of Bremerton died March 2, 2000, in Bremerton.
He was born Dec. 22, 1907, in Garnett, Kan., to Mary Johnson. He attended school through the third grade.
He was self-employed until his 1986 retirement and had also worked as the head mechanic at the Buick dealership Couse Motors and as a custodian for the Bremerton School District.
He was a member of the Elks, the Eagles and the American Legion, and was also an avid ballroom dancer.
He is survived by a son, Loren of San Pablo, Calif.; two stepsons, Gary Smith of Federal Way and Larry Smith of Shelton; three daughters, Betty Phillips and Gail Brown, both of Lynnwood, and Ethel Gray of Orange, Calif.; a stepdaughter, Barbara King of Demming, N.M.; 26 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy; and a stepdaughter, Gwen Risher.
Viewing will be from noon to 6 p.m. Monday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, and a graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Forest Lawn cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 4414 Woodland Park Ave. N, Seattle, WA 98103.

Toriko Pecson
Toriko Tokita Pecson, 67, of Bremerton died March 2, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Feb. 5, 1933, in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, in Japan.
She was raised and educated in Japan and married Benjamin C. Pecson on May 26, 1953, in Yokohama.
Mrs. Pecson was a homemaker who had lived in Kitsap County for 27 years.
She is survived by her husband; four sons, Ron of San Francisco, Lex of Silverdale, Glen of Bremerton and Mark of Belfair; two brothers, of Japan; and three grandchildren, Everett, Alecsander and Nathaniel.
Burial will take place at Holy Cross cemetery in San Francisco. Arrangements are being handled by Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Jerry Houck
Jeremiah "Jerry" Houck, 16, of Port Orchard died March 2, 2000, at his home from a brain tumor.
He was born May 15, 1983, in San Diego to Mark E. and Jacqueline F. Houck. He grew up in Port Orchard and attended South Kitsap High School.
He was a member of the South Kitsap Little League.
He is survived by his parents, Mark of Bremerton and Jacqueline of Belfair; grandparents Linda Street of Michigan, Jim Ferris of Michigan, and Paula Houck of North Carolina. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Ross Houck.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Kitsap County, P.O. Box 3416, Silverdale, WA 98383-3416. Memorial donations may be made to Make A Wish Foundation of Washington, P.O. Box 1353, Tacoma, WA 98401.'

Bernice Workman
Bernice Workman, 75, of Seattle died Feb. 26, 2000, at Virginia Mason Medical Center in Seattle after a brief illness.
She was born Nov. 6, 1924, in Bellingham to Lloyd and Ester Welch.
She was raised in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School in 1942.
On June 23, 1946, she married Dr. Ron Workman in Bremerton. They moved to Bellingham in 1951.
Mrs. Workman worked for the commanding admiral of the Bremerton Navy Yard during World War II. Later, she worked as a professional photographer until 1983. Moving to Seattle in 1985, she became executive secretary for the Professional Photographers of Washington until her retirement in 1996.
Survivors include one son, Roger; one daughter, Vicki Nelson; her brother, Armond Welch of Maryland; and three grandchildren, Stephanie, Andrea, and Ron, all of Seattle. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1982.
Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, 4801 NE 45th St., Seattle.
Remembrances may be made to the Professional Photographers of Washington, Bernice Workman Memorial Scholarship, 1121 5th Ave. SE, Olympia, WA 98501, or to a charity of choice.

Ivy Smith
Ivy Charlotte Smith of Poulsbo died March 1, 2000, in Poulsbo.
She was born to George and Emma (Franklin) Wayson and was raised and educated in Chicago.
In 1932, she married Walter C. Smith in Waukegan, Ill.
Mrs. Smith and her husband owned and operated a laundry mat in Dalton, Ill., for many years. They sold it and moved to Kingston around 1965 to retire.
She was a 4-H Club leader. She also was a volunteer at the sheriff's office in Kingston as well as being a part of the Friends of the Library in Kingston. Mrs. Smith was a member of St. Olaf's Catholic Church.
Survivors include two daughters, Jayne Brazeau of Kingston and Jean Turek of Illinois; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Kosco, Dave and Paul Smith, all of Illinois, Trent Turek of Georgia, Troy Turek of California, Allan P. Brazeau of Oregon, Mark and Amanda Brazeau of Kingston; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; a son, Walter G.; a sister, Theda; her brother, George; and one grandson.
Graveside services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Forest Lawn cemetery in Bremerton.
Arrangements are under the direction of the Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Izaak Walton League of America, SIDS Foundation, The Friends of the Library of Kingston, or the Humane Society of Kitsap County.

Jeff Duchesneau
Former Bremerton resident Jeffery "Jeff" Lee Duchesneau, 32, of Anacortes died March 2, 2000, at Island Hospital in Anacortes.
He was born Dec. 16, 1967, in Anacortes.
On Feb. 14, 1988, he married Melissa C. Olson in Bremerton, where the couple lived for several years before moving to Fort Mills, S.C. They moved to Anacortes about a year ago.
He is survived by his parents, Albert Duchesneau of North Judson, Ind., and Helen Bake of Shelton; one son, Stephen Jacob "Jeffery Lee Jr." Duchesneau of Anacortes; two brothers, Edward R. of Renton and Stuart R. of Burien; one sister, Lanette of Bremerton; and his grandmother, Joyce Bake of Anacortes.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. today at the Marina Inn Hotel, 3300 Commercial Ave., Anacortes. Arrangements are in the care of Evans Funeral Chapel, Anacortes.
Memorials may be made to U.S. Bank trust fund, c/o Duchesneau children, 910 'O' Ave., Anacortes, WA 98221.

Sharon A. Hull
Sharon A. Hull, 55, of Port Orchard died March 1, 2000, at home.
She was born April 27, 1944, in Port Orchard to Frank and Jobyna (Johnson) Schauer. She attended South Kitsap High School.
Mrs. Hull was the owner of Bethel Evergreens in Port Orchard.
She married James Hull on May 18, 1962, in Port Orchard.
Survivors include her husband; four sons, Kris Hull of Sequim, Kevin Hull of Sequim, Kenneth Hull of Burns, Ore., and Keith Hull of Port Orchard; a daughter, Karla Hull of Port Orchard; a brother, Roger Schauer of Port Orchard; a sister, Janice Stice of Port Orchard; and 19 grandchildren.
A memorial service is planned for 1 p.m. Tuesday at the Port Orchard Church of the Nazarene. Arrangements are being handled by Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel in Port Orchard.

Hazel Lubash
Hazel M. Lubash, 86, died Feb. 18, 2000, in Auburn.
She was born Nov. 5, 1913, in Stanwood, Wash. She lived in the Everett area until her marriage to Albert Lubash, and they lived in Bremerton for 20 years.
She was active in Messiah Lutheran Church and was a Girl Scout leader. She lived the past 22 years in Kent, where she was active in Zion Lutheran Church and involved in the quilting groups of both churches.
Her husband died in 1967.
Survivors include her son, Del J. Lubash of Gig Harbor; her daughter, Mary E. Mondt of Auburn; a brother, Loren Furuheim of Camano Island; a sister, Arnola Larsen of Everett; six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church in Kent. Remembrances may be made to the Children Fund at Zion Lutheran Church, 25105 132nd Ave., Kent, WA 98042.
