Betty Iverson
Betty Iverson, 65, of Poulsbo died Feb. 26, 2000, at her home.
She was born Aug. 21, 1934, in Seattle to Thomas and Anna Niblitt.
She married
Dick Kosola on June 27, 1982, on Mercer Island.
She was raised in Seattle and graduated from Cleveland High School, the University of Washington and Stanford University's graduate school.
She taught for many years in the public schools and was assistant principal at Ballard High School.
She was a member of the Kiwanis of Greater Poulsbo, was responsible for the kindergarten reading program in local schools, was involved in the Children's Garden at a local park, supported the Iodine Deficiency Disorders project and was club secretary, was a member of the Tree Board and Viking Avenue Improvement Committee and volunteered at the Marine Science Center.
She is survived by three sons, Mark of Everett, Bruce of Kobe, Japan, and Eric of Port Townsend; four stepdaughters, Leanne Algard of Arlington, Renee Matson of Woodinville, Joy Kosola of Edmonds and Melissa Goad of Everett; one sister, Florence Berg of Seattle; and 17 grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Wednesday at Poulsbo Mortuary. A celebration of her life will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Poulsbo Mortuary "The Stone Chapel, " which is handling arrangements.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kiwanis Club of Greater Poulsbo.
Rick Peterson
Richard Andrew "Rick" Peterson, 91, of Poulsbo died Feb. 20, 2000, in Poulsbo.
He was born March 1, 1908, in Lemolo to Frank and Tillie Peterson. He attended the one-room schoolhouse in Lemolo and Union High School (now North Kitsap High School) in Poulsbo.
He married
Pauline Sherman on July 21, 1934, in Port Orchard. They lived in Marysville and Seattle before moving to the family home in Lemolo in 1945.
Mr. Peterson began working for Kitsap County's Road District One in 1949, and he became the district supervisor in 1957. When the county adopted a single unit road system in 1968, he was appointed to the newly created position of county road superintendent.
He was the recipient of the 1970 Distinguished Service Award presented jointly by Washington State University and St. Martin's College. He retired in 1971.
Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Joan Carson, Julie Elsner and Jeanne Snouwaert, all of Poulsbo; one sister, Ethel Twito of Poulsbo; one stepson, Dwain Harrow of Seattle; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond, in 1976.

Larry Larson
Larry C. Larson, 66, of Tacoma died Feb. 17, 2000, in Poulsbo following a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
He was born in Tacoma in 1934. By the age of 11, he was studying with Vaudeville "Showcard" Artists and Stage Designers at the Pantages Theatre in Tacoma. When he was 14, he had his own sign painting company.
After serving in the Army and studying at the Rhode Island School of Design, he returned to Tacoma in 1959, opening the Larry Larson Sign Co.
In 1965, he was one of three finalists nominated for the American Institute of Architects "Craftsmanship Award." After closing the sign company, he began his own graphic design practice.
Survivors include one son, Christopher of Ketchikan, Alaska; two daughters, Laurie Larson-Pugh of Kingston and Kari Larson of Redmond; and four grandchildren, Brandon, Brianna, Danielle and Michael.
A memorial celebration is planned for March 11 at the home of his daughter, Laurie, in Kingston. For information, call (360) 297-5035. Arrangements are under the direction of Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel.
Peggy Corbin
Peggy Sue Miller Corbin, 58, of Bonita Springs, Fla., died Feb. 19, 2000, at Hope Hospice of Fort Myers, Fla., after an unsuccessful recovery from a brain aneurysm.
She was born in Kansas City, Mo., on Sept. 11, 1941, and lived in the Pacific Northwest most of her life.
She worked as a bookkeeper and was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary No. 303 and the Eagles Aerie No. 4002 in Bonita Springs.
She is survived by a son, Christian Swanson of Key West, Fla.; two stepsons, James Corbin of Port Orchard and Clyde Corbin Jr. of Bremerton; a stepdaughter, Mary Lue Corbin of Poulsbo; her mother, Naomi Stapleton of Bellingham; two sisters, Patti Helgeson of Bonita Springs and Penni Lemperes of Bellingham; two half-sisters, Nancy Weller and Melody Callen, both of California; a half-brother, Robert Stapleton of California; a grandson, Finn Kenneth Swanson; three nieces and two nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Corbin.
A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the American Legion Post 303 in Bonita Springs. A second memorial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Greenwood Memorial Park Funeral Home in Renton.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hope Hospice of Fort Myers or to the hospice of your choice.
Borghild Conley
Borghild Sofie Conley, 98, of Poulsbo died Feb. 24, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born in Forvik, Norway, to Ole and Ona Sorenson. She attended school in Norway and moved to the United States in 1920.
She was a homemaker.
Mrs. Conley is survived by a son, Duane L. Titterness of Poulsbo; a daughter, Helen J. Peterson of Poulsbo; 27 grandchildren; 67 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Peter Titterness in 1937; her second husband, Ira Conley in 1969; four sons, L.M. Titterness, Otto Titterness, Peter Titterness and Arlo Titterness; and two grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. Private burial will be at Poulsbo City cemetery.
Herman Page
Herman Wesley Page, 96, of Silverdale died Feb. 26, 2000, at Northwoods Lodge.
He was born June 11, 1903, in Rowlett, Texas. He served in the Navy and retired after World War II with the rank of lieutenant.
He was a fire commissioner for Silverdale Fire District 1.
He married
Edna Thuesen, who preceded him in death in 1984.
Mr. Page is survived by three sisters, Ethel Smolka, Mandy Hutchins and Loraine Young, all of Texas; three brothers, Lee of Nevada and John and Frank, both of Texas; and two nieces, Barbara Boad of Belfair and Betty Ehlringer of Oregon.
There will be a visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home Chapel on the Hill. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. A reception will follow.

Darrell Floyd
Darrell B. "Dingle" Floyd, 84, of Silverdale died Feb. 24, 2000, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Oct. 1, 1915, in Charleston to Charles and Lillian Floyd. He grew up in Bremerton, graduating from Bremerton High School in 1934.
Mr. Floyd served in the Army from 1941 to 1945.
He married
Jeannine Short on Dec. 15, 1945. She preceded him in death in 1993.
Mr. Floyd was a battalion chief with the Bremerton Fire Department. He worked for the department from 1946 until his retirement in 1975.
He also was as a bartender at the Tyee Restaurant for several years and at the Elks Club. He was a football referee for West and East High Schools during the '60s and '70s.
Mr. Floyd was a life member of William H. Upton Masonic Lodge 206, a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 239 and a life member of Elks Lodge 1181.
He is survived by Judith Voshall and Janice Crouch, whom he regarded as his "honorary daughters, " and their families.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.

Steven Alexander
Steven N. Alexander, 31, of Purdy died Feb. 10, 2000, in Silverdale.
He was born Oct. 3, 1968, in Nampa, Idaho, to Steve Alexander and Judith Syrie. He grew up in Eastern Oregon, attending Mac High School in Milton-Freewater, Ore.
Mr. Alexander was a drywall installer for three years. Previously, he was a cook in Pendleton, Ore., and was employed by Fleetwood Homes for six years.
Survivors include his father of Milton-Freewater; his mother of Baker City Ore.; and two sisters, Tami of Oregon and Julie of Caldwell, Idaho. His grandparents preceded him in death.
A private service was held Feb. 16 in North Powder, Ore. Arrangements are under the direction of Kitsap Cremation and Burial Society.
Ned Harding
Ned LeRoy Harding, 75, of Chimacum died Feb. 24, 2000, in Chimacum.
He was born Dec. 1, 1924, in Bucoda.
Mr. Harding was a broke heaterman with Crown Zellerbach Paper Company.
Survivors include one son, Lester of Chimacum; five daughters, Loucinda Filbert of Deming, Roberta Meyer of Chimacum, Catherine Gross of Seattle, Susan Mikelson of Tacoma and Lisa Erhart of Olympia; two foster children, Steven Howard of Chimacum and Helen Gates of Montesano; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
At his request, there will be no services. Arrangements are under the direction of Tuell-McKee of Bremerton.

Lyle Froggatt
Lyle Henry Froggatt, 94, of Apache Junction, Ariz., died Jan. 22, 2000, in Apache Junction.
He was born Sept. 15, 1905, in Tacoma to William H. and Ruby M. (Christner) Froggatt. He grew up in Tacoma, attending high school there.
Mr. Froggatt served in the Navy for four years, stationed in California.
He was the lead man in Shop 02 at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard. He retired in 1961 after 37 years.
He was a member of the National Association of Federal Employees.
Survivors include one son, Lyle of Honolulu, Hawaii; one brother, Billy, of Honolulu; four grandchildren, Warren of Honolulu, S. Howard and Stanley Jr., both of Bremerton, and Lanna of Tacoma; and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, Stanley.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Wednesday at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Lillie Olsen
Lillie K. Olsen, 79, of Poulsbo died Feb. 23, 2000, at her home.
She was born May 28, 1920, in The Dalles, Ore., to Peter and Helena (Quiring) Wall. She grew up in The Dalles, graduating from high school there in 1938.
She married
Floyd Olsen on Jan. 12, 1946, in Port Orchard. He preceded her in death in 1985.
Mrs. Olsen was a homemaker. She originally moved to Port Orchard in 1946 to work in a rest home, and moved to Poulsbo in 1997.
She was a member of Cootiettes with the Veterans of Foreign Wars in Port Orchard, the Mystery Book Club in Port Orchard and Jehovah's Witnesses.
Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Gibson of Poulsbo; three grandchildren, Donald Gibson of Everett, Edward Gibson of Puyallup and Raymond Gibson of Port Orchard; and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, Fred, in 1974.
A graveside service is planned for 1 p.m. Monday at Sunset Lane cemetery in Port Orchard. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
'Toni' Vanderhalf
Anthonia "Toni" W. Vanderhalf, 100, of Poulsbo died Feb. 20, 2000, at Martha & Mary Health Care Center.
She was born Nov. 24, 1899, in Oosterland, Holland, to Adrian and Alberdiena (Bogarod) Broodman. She was raised and educated in Holland.
She married
James Vanderhalf on Nov. 3, 1922, in Holland. In 1924, they came to the United States, settling near Lincoln, Neb.
Mrs. Vanderhalf was a cook at the Coulee Dam construction site. Later, after moving to Kingston, she was a cook at David Wolfle Elementary School.
Survivors include two sons, John of Kingston and Harry of Yuma, Ariz.; two daughters, Tona Eliason of Poulsbo and Marion Dennis of Kingston; 16 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren. Her husband preceded her in death in 1980.
A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today at Poulsbo Mortuary, The Stone Chapel. Burial will take place at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
