Robert Wilbur
Robert A. Wilbur, 86, of Tahuya died Nov. 26, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born Oct. 21, 1915, in Galesburg, Ill., and attended school in Illinois.
He served in the Army from 1942 to 1945, advancing to the rank of staff sergeant.
He married
Georgia Brown on June 28, 1945, in Sacramento, Calif. She preceded him in death in 1991.
He was a factory worker for 35 years, retiring in 1980.
Survivors include his companion, Irma G. Eberhard of Washington, and a sister, Betty Scott of Colorado Springs, Colo.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, also at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Caroline Blong
Caroline T. (Olson) Blong, 87, died Nov. 20, 2001, at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center.
She was born July 15, 1914, in Rice Lake, Wis., to Arnt and Rebecca (Monroe) Olson. She graduated in 1933 from Lynden High School in Lynden, and in 1938 from Success Business College in Bellingham.
She married
William G. Blong on July 12, 1958, in Bremerton. He preceded her in death in 1981.
She was a secretary at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard and worked for the government in California, retiring in 1969.
She enjoyed spending time with Bible students in San Francisco and Seattle.
Survivors include two brothers, Robert Olson of Bellingham and Gerald Olson of Portland, Ore.; and two sisters, Alice Hardin of Lynden and Betty Lockhart of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by a brother, Edward Olson; and two sisters, Ruth Kelley and Joyce Albers.
A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. today at Belmont Terrace Convalescent Center. Arrangements are under the direction of Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Memorial donations may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
Kathleen Fahey
Kathleen Anne Fahey, 44, died Nov. 25, 2001, at her Port Orchard residence.
She was born Nov. 5, 1957, in Albuquerque, N.M., to Michael and Geraldine (Ozmina) Fahey. She graduated in 1976 from Sunset High School in Beaverton, Ore., and attended Oregon State University.
She was a care provider and waitress.
She enjoyed spending time with friends and her dog, Cody.
Survivors include a sister, Susan of West Richland and a brother, Mark of Albuquerque. She was preceded in death by her parents.
A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. today at Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.

William Hutchason
William C. Hutchason, 74, of Port Orchard died Nov. 21, 2001, in Belfair.
He was born July 31, 1927, in Wapato to William and Grace (Woods) Hutchason.
He married
Betty Dykstra on Oct. 11, 1997. She preceded him in death in 2000.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He was a self-employed carpenter and painter, retiring in 1995.
Mr. Hutchason was a member of the Port Orchard Eagles.
He is survived by a daughter, Linda Myers of Belfair; a sister, Nadine Richards of Union Gap; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He also was preceded in death by a son, Lester C..

Jim Franklin
Francis "Jim" Franklin, 74, of Port Orchard died Nov. 25, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
He was born July 15, 1927, in Seattle to Kasmir and Johanna (Hudson) Franckevitch. He graduated in 1945 from Lincoln High School in Seattle.
He married
Shirley Schryver on March 20, 1948, in Seattle.
He served in the Marines from 1952 to 1954, advancing to the rank of staff sergeant.
Mr. Franklin was the national retail sales manager for Whirlpool Corp. for 28 years, retiring in 1984.
Survivors include his wife; three sons, Jay of Fishers, Ind., Keith of Shoreline and Terry of Dallas, Texas; a brother, Peter Franckevitch of Seattle; a sister, Mary Noone of Seattle; and seven grandchildren.
Services will be private. Arrangements are under the direction of Pendleton-Gilchrist Funeral Home at Rill Chapel.
Bob Lund
Former Bremerton resident Robert "Bob" Milton Lund, 76, of the Tri-Cities died of Alzheimer's disease
Nov. 17, 2001, in Pasco.
He was born Dec. 23, 1924, in Bremerton to Milton and Elizabeth (Lambert) Lund. He was a 1943 graduate of Bremerton High School.
He married
Charlene "Peggy" Efnor on Sept. 1, 1951, in Seattle.
He served in the Army during World War II.
He was a tool and parts attendant at Naval Undersea Warfare Center at Keyport for 35 years, retiring in 1980.
He enjoyed photographing the Olympic Mountains and spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was a member of Lincoln Avenue Bible Church.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Dale of Antananarivo, Madagascar; a daughter, Patti Weisgerber of Richland; a sister, Betty Byrum of Seattle; four grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Jeanette Fregley, and a sister, Lorna Moikeha.
Visitation will be from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Friday at Lewis Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be at 10 a.m. at Forest Lawn cemetery, followed by a memorial service at 11 a.m. at Lincoln Avenue Bible Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Lewis Funeral Chapel.

Alma Mars
Alma Mars, 91, of Bremerton died Nov. 19, 2001, in Bremerton.
She was born Sept. 28, 1910, in Oak Harbor to Alfred and Mary (Hoffman) Maylor. She graduated in 1929 from Oak Harbor High School.
She married
Lucas Mars on May 8, 1939, in Seattle. He preceded her in death in 1964.
She was a member of Daughters of Pioneers of Washington and First Christian Church of Bremerton.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Mars of Holly and Kathleen Mars of Seattle; and two sisters, Juanita Bonnelle of Seattle and Charlotte Scott of Oak Harbor. She also was preceded in death by three brothers, Ray, Ran and Ted Maylor; and two sisters, Margaret Murray and Pauline Duane.
A memorial service will be at 2:45 p.m. Saturday at Claremont East, 2707 Clare Ave., Bremerton.

Maria Babcock
Maria Laura Babcock, 62, of Bremerton died Nov. 23, 2001, at home.
She was born July 15, 1939, in Bremerton to Joseph and Joyce Pigato. She graduated from West High School in Bremerton.
She enjoyed bowling, ceramics and visiting with friends at Kitsap Tenant Support.
Survivors include two brothers, Clark Pigato of Portland, Ore., and Nino Pigato of Bremerton. She was preceded in death by her husband, Barney Babcock.
Visitation will be from from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home.
Shirley Rebbe
Shirley Lee Rebbe, 79, of Bremerton died Nov. 20, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Sept. 15, 1922, in Mulberry, Kan., to George and Mable (Lynch) Schenck. She graduated from high school in Fort Scott, Kan., in 1940 and also attended college there.
She married
Howard Rebbe on Feb. 14, 1949, in Bremerton.
Mrs. Rebbe worked at Puget Sound Naval Shipyard for 10 years. While at PSNS, she was awarded the Federal Service Award of Merit by the Tacoma Area Federal Executive Association.
Mrs. Rebbe had been active with Rainbow Girls, Campfire Girls, Girl Scouts, a Navy officers' wives organization and the PTA (earning the Golden Acorn Award). She had been active in repairing hundreds of dolls which firefighters gave to needy children.
Survivors include her husband; a sister, Wanda Karst of Kingston; two grandchildren, Stephanie Day and Kimberly Uhlbright; and three great-grandchildren, Candice, Haley and Cheyenne. She was preceded in death by her only child, Gretchen Spence, in 1998.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. today at Miller-Woodlawn Funeral Home. Entombment will be at Miller-Woodlawn Memorial Park.
Dee Dee Spurling
Danidea "Dee Dee" D. Spurling, 77, of Poulsbo died Nov. 14, 2001, at Harrison Hospital.
She was born Jan. 27, 1924, in Bonesteel, S.D., to Daniel and Desa (White) Turney. She graduated from Bonesteel High School.
She married
Lloyd R. Ruzicka on May 1, 1943. He preceded her in death in 1973.
She married
her second husband, Russell L. Spurling, on Dec. 28, 1974, and moved to Poulsbo. He preceded her in death in 1985.
She was a training supervisor at Bell Telephone Co. for six years.
Mrs. Spurling was a volunteer for Senior Outreach Support Center, Family Kitchen, Fishline and Faith Episcopal Church. She enjoyed bird watching, square dancing, fishing and cooking.
Survivors include two sons, Russell of Poulsbo and Jeffrey Ruzicka; a daughter, Kim Peckham of Bremerton; a brother, Don Turney of Arizona; four granddaughters, Jenny and Lindsay Matlock, and Amanda and Nicolle Peckham; and two great-grandsons. She also was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Toni Lynn, and six sisters.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Episcopal Church, 26096 W. First St., Kingston (Veterans of Foreign Wars Hall).

Rosella Shattenberg
Rosella R. Shattenberg, 81, of Poulsbo died Nov. 23, 2001, in Poulsbo.
She was born March 28, 1920, in Darfor, Minn., to David and Anne (Garsen) Funk. She graduated in 1938 from Winnebago High School in Minnesota.
She married
Earl L. Shattenberg on Dec. 13, 1944, in Minneapolis.
She was a homemaker, a master gardener and dedicated stamp collector.
She attended Rolling Bay Presbyterian Church and was active in women's bible studies.
Survivors include her husband; three sons, Richard of Madagascar, Gregory of West Paris, Maine, and William of Juneau, Alaska; a brother, Robert Funk of Shoreline; three sisters, Isabelle Martin of Seattle, Merice Enoch of Arkansas and Elizabeth Ann Woodcock of Shoreline; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be at 3 p.m. Wednesday at the family home, 23495 Clear Creek Road in Poulsbo.
